Catastrophic Delivery Failure, Wrong Items, False Promises and Devastating Consequential Costs - Avoid at All Costs
I am writing this review as a formal warning to any consumer considering placing an order with Appliance Superstore, which trades online as appliancesuperstore.co.uk and is legally registered at Companies House as KDH LTD, Company Registration Number 10808820, VAT Number GB278357851. I feel a moral obligation to ensure no other customer suffers the same fate, particularly anyone embarking on a large kitchen project or renovation where timing and reliability are critical.
I placed an order for three appliances for a significant kitchen installation project. From the outset the experience was characterised by broken promises, incorrect deliveries and a complete failure to communicate honestly or professionally. On the confirmed and guaranteed delivery date, only a single correct item arrived as ordered. The hob delivered was the wrong model entirely cheaper one and was collected back by their own driver on the same day after the driver himself confirmed the mismatch. The oven delivered was a different and cheaper model to what was invoiced and paid for. Only the microwave was correct, but rendered completely useless as part of an incomplete and mismatched installation.
What followed was several days of false reassurances, missed commitments, unanswered questions and a complete inability to provide any of the ordered itmes. Set delivery to 22nd waited and nothing. Several days of torture. When I exercised my statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 I was characterised as unreasonable and a nuisance customer. When I sought director level accountability I received anonymous unsigned emails from a nameless member or sales team. When I raised the issue of their emails breaching the Companies Act 2006 by omitting mandatory legal information including their company registration number and registered office address they ignored it entirely. Throughout this entire ordeal the company admitted their mistakes in writing but refused to take any meaningful corrective action or offer any compensation whatsoever for the enormous consequential costs their failures caused.
I would also like consumers to be aware that the legal entity behind Appliance Superstore is KDH LTD, registered at Companies House under number 10808820, with its registered office at 32 Riverside, Sir Thomas Longley Road, Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent ME2 4DP. The online trading name Appliance Superstore and the website appliancesuperstore.co.uk are both operated by this company as far as i am aware. This information is publicly available at Companies House and I share it here purely so that any consumer researching this business before purchasing has full transparency about the legal entity they would be contracting with.
The financial and practical consequences of their failure were severe, significant and entirely avoidable. We will now be pursuing the matter through the County Court after notice period to recover our consequential losses in full and a full refund, as the company has refused to acknowledge or address those losses despite repeated formal written notices.
If you are planning a kitchen, a renovation or any project where delivery reliability is critical, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to look elsewhere. A failed delivery and unprofessional handling afterwards from this company does not just inconvenience you. It can cost you enormously in tradesperson fees, installation delays and project costs that accumulate every day the correct items are not delivered. No appliance saving is worth that risk. I used AO.COM as a rescue in 2 days the same appliances were delivered to me.
My honest recommendation based on lived and fully documented experience: do not order from Appliance Superstore, legally trading as KDH LTD, under any circumstances, particularly for large or time-sensitive projects. The cost of their failures will far exceed any perceived saving on the purchase price. There are many reputable appliance retailers available. Please use one of them instead. From my experience 5 star AO.com and appliance city [Completely different company and ethics]
Great Company
I found Appliance Superstore to be excellent. The website was straightforward and easy to navigate, item in stock and delivered in 2 days. Driver was extremely helpful and even though the delivery was difficult he managed it with a jovial attitude.

I am extremely disappointed with Appliance Superstore and their handling of a cooker hood return.
Delivery of the item was significantly delayed, and I was only informed of the delay after chasing them due to having a professional installer booked.
When the item was finally delivered and assessed, it was found to be unsuitable as it sat too low above the hob, making it impractical to use. The item was unused and repackaged in its original packaging. The manufacturer authorised a return subject to photographs being provided.
On 30 December, Appliance Superstore confirmed in writing that the return had been accepted, that collection would be arranged, and that the return cost would be deducted from the refund. I expressly authorised them to proceed the same day.
Despite this, they failed to arrange collection, stopped responding meaningfully, and later attempted to change the agreed return conditions. Their communication has been dismissive, inconsistent, and unhelpful.
I am now left with a large boxed appliance in my home, out of pocket, and unable to order a replacement due to their failure to honour what was agreed.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious. If something goes wrong, resolving it appears unnecessarily difficult.
Excellent customer service
It's complicated, but in the end I didn't buy from this website through no fault of their own. All my dealings with them (Laura) were great and very helpful. They did their best for me, I couldn't have asked for better customer service. I would definitely use them in future. Thank you.

Refused to accept a return
I ordered an extractor hood on 10th Oct which wasn't received until 8th November. Despite giving the Appliance Superstore the benefit of the doubt over the delay, they refused to let me return the item when I found the product wouldn't fit. I was admittedly six days past the 14 day window to request a return, but despite the product being unused and stating I was happy to order a replacement product that was £200 more expensive their sales director was adamant they would not change their policy. I was under the impression that sales directors seek to increase sales, but apparently not here. I cannot recommend them and can only presume this approach to customer service is why (at time of writing) 32% of reviews on Trustpilot are the worst possible rating of 1 star.

Rude staff member/lying regarding stock
Called up to check stock for an item, was told by a rather rude female staff member that it will be in stock the following week, I double checked that the item I wanted was going to be in stock the following week and that if I ordered straight away, It would be delivered by the end of the week. She was very rude on the phone and said yes, I explained it will be in. I asked if I could order over the telephone but was told no, so I ordered online instantly. To then receive an email 30 mins later saying it’s now out of stock and will be in stock in a month. Not happy at all
Great service and price
Recently purchased a Miele washing machine from this company. It was priced well below the RRP and the service was excellent. I purchased it online but also spoke to a really helpful woman to make my selection and organise (next day!) delivery. What a pleasure to have such a positive experience when buying a major appliance.
Buyer Beware
I purchased a Miele extractor hood. I placed my order on the 4th June 2023 expecting it to be delivered the following week. I selected the day for delivery in accordance with their process. I subsequently received a generic email on the 22nd June 2023 saying the status of the order had been updated to 'courier collecting'. That's 18 days after I paid for the item believing it was in stock. I subsequently found out from Miele that they ordered the item 12 days after I placed my order. Their delivery process states they will contact you to agree timing for the delivery of the goods and place great emphasis on how they will ensure you inspect the goods in the presence of a delivery driver and that a signature will be required to confirm safe receipt of goods. No prior date or time for delivery was agreed and they deliver the item without anyone available to accept the goods at the delivery address. It then transpires that these high value electrical goods are left outside in the rain in a cardboard box. The date of delivery wasn't known and there was no proof of delivery. The goods are recovered by chance from outside my property by a close relative at some point before they are ruined or stolen. On first inspection months later when I return to the property I discover the glass hood is shattered inside the packaging and immediately contact them providing a photograph of the damage. The initial anonymous response I receive with subsequent anonymous email correspondence fails to acknowledge any level of responsibility or accountability for the delivery of goods in a damaged condition. I subsequently raise legal proceedings for breach of contract on the basis that they have failed to afford me the opportunity to inspect the goods. A mediation appointment is made as part of the small claims process and they fail to keep their appointment. The result is a court hearing 300 miles away with a resulting loss of earnings, and travel costs, with no certainty of them paying should I win my case for breach of contract. My recommendation would be to read this review and think again about making a purchase from this company.
Do not buy from this company
Do not buy from this company. We placed a large order for a number of new kitchen items in February. They initially told us one of the items wasn't available then subsequently refunded a lower amount than the actual amount invoiced for the item. As we were querying this they gave us delivery dates for the rest of the order, no-one ever arrived and it transpired some of the other items weren't in fact available either. We cancelled the whole order and a refund was "processed immediately". Two weeks later and we've had to lodge a dispute via the credit card company because we still haven't seen a penny of the almost £8k we are owed. In the meantime, Appliance Superstore continue to come up with reasons they can't refund (apparently now it's the credit card company who won't allow them to process this). Do yourself a favour and use AO, the items arrive on time and their customer service is incomparably better!

I needed an oven for Christmas. Smegg were unable to deliver in time ( although we live close to their distribution centre in Abingdon) but this company rose to the challenge!!
It arrived in time, was cheaper than buying it direct from Smeg and no charge for delivery!
I have just returned a flue that was unnecessary and they have refunded me straight away and paid for the return postage.

We recently purchased 2 e-scooters via the Appliance Superstore. The escooters were a recognised make and surpossedly of good quality, however upon receipt neither worked. I contacted the Appliance Superstore who were very apologetic and were more than willing to replace or refund the items. Sadly they didn't have a different make of escooter so we opted for a full refund. This was actioned when they received the escooters. All this was dealt with by Laura and Les who both very professional, understanding and curious throughout, a real credit to the company.
I will have no hesitation whatsoever in using the Appliance Superstore again..
What a great service
What a great service, I knew I wanted a Miele washing machine to replace our old machine, must be honest went to my local village supplier and was weeks wait so went on line, came across appliance superstore read the reviews and they were mixed but decided to phone and make the initial contact, not quite sure about the negative reviews but could not of received a better service, from the moment I phoned I had positive response to say exactly when the machine would be with them and an approximate day when it would be delivered, asked if it could be delivered within a certain time slot ,we decided to order was then given confirmation and a delivery slot exactly as we requested, perfect. Delivery day I was phoned within the time slot to say they would be 20 mins away and yes arrived exactly on time , very nice delivery driver and bought into the allocated area , recommend this company they are so good and extremely helpful in after sales too for me re claiming cash back from Miele. As and when we need more appliances will definitely be ordering from them again definitely 5 stars

Purchase of a Smeg Range Cooker
I was having problems getting a company to deliver a range cooker to a first floor property. Appliance Superstore were only too happy to help and made sure the delivery (including having a gas fitter on site) went off smoothly. Les and Laura in Customer Services were extremely helpful. I would use the company again.
