I got the free trial and didn't find the site helpful for me as an beginning author. So I went cancel my subscription. I have called over a dozen times (never has anyone answered my call. Always got the same recording that they were "experiencing high call volume" and that they'd get back to me) and no one has ever called me back. I called on different days and times for the last three weeks! I have emailed them multiple times - no answer. And I have cancelled through the form on the website as well. And I now have a charge for the subscription I cancelled. Do Not Use ALC, it feels like a scam.

I got a free subscription with ALC for one year after publishing a book through Author House. I never extended it, but without my knowledge, ALC for years automatically charged me for the subscription I did not ask for via my credit card. After I tried to reach them by phone from Europe hoping to sort it out, I listened to a recorded message instead of getting support. I couldn't find a proper ALC email address either. Finally, I stumbled upon a webpage with the option to cancel the ACL subscription. I did not receive the automated confirmation of receipt of my cancellation request. I wonder how long it will take them to respond. I find ACL performance poor and unprofessional.

I see Author Solutions WROTE THEIR OWN review under my name sept 13. I DID NOT WRITE THIS REVIEW! It took me a month of trying to reach anyone there that would help. It took going to both the States Attorney and the BBB to get a refund for services they did not perform! I would NEVER recommend this publisher and if they fake another review from me, please read ALL my reviews of them!

They have good things on their website but their subscription policy is atrocious. They will not send a notice that the upcoming payment is due, so if you forget to cancel you are screwed.
Not only that but there are no refunds even a couple of days later. I had a death in the family and forgot to cancel. I called to get a refund but no, too bad basically. I think this is a terrible way to do business, and if I cancel now I can't use the services for the next six months, I have to call them six months down the road. I will begrudgingly use the services because they are paid for. I feel trapped and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Their method is rigid and unethical.

My name is Brittany Webb beware know your cancellation date because this company does not have a heart they will not give you any kind of refund even if you cancel one day after they won't even prorate your refund and give you some of your money back this is a heartless corporate ran company run run run find another company that has a heart and actually cares about the little person they don't care if you only have $3 on your card and you need gas they will not refund your money America run from this corporate company boycott it it takes the little person to stand up against these corporate companies that just step on the little person's head so that they can get rich and stay rich. Run from this company they do not truly care about you

They are charging me $10 every month for a service I don't ask and I never had access. They got unauthorized access of my credit card from another scam company, called Lulu
