I have recently sold my house and purchased a flat in Leamington Spa. For the legal process involved I engaged Battens Solicitors Ltd in Yeovil and was guided through the whole process by Mr Ross Siviter aided by his Conveyancing assistant Mandy Hutchinson.
From the start, I was listened to and asked what I expected to happen. Then all the legal stages were carefully explained to me and I was told what was expected from me.
At all times, they were both readily available to answer my concerns and I was fully kept informed as to what was happening and asked for my opinion. They were both kind, totally professional and well informed on legal matters explaining each stage to me as necessary making the whole purchase and sale a stress free smooth process from start to finish. I am very grateful for all their support and guidance and would recommend Battens without any hesitation. Thank you.

Nicola and Clare made the sale of my house a smooth experience. Very efficient from the beginning to the end of the process, and always there with an update when required. Should I need to sell a house again, I would definitely use them again.

Everyone says that buying and selling a house is one of the most stressful things you can go through - and whilst it still is, having Lucy in our corner made it significantly less stressful. From the outset, we were blown away by Lucy’s attention to detail, speed, and genuine care. At no point did we feel out of the loop or unsure of what was going on. Lucy made sure of that. If we ever go through this process again, we wouldn’t look past her.

Horrific experience with Battens Yeovil.
I had the experience of having to go to court with Battens who were at one point my representatives and became 'the other side'.
The sheer arrogance of the representatives of this law firm is staggering!!
Absolute lack of attention to detail verging on laziness.
They made every step of the way difficult and drawn out. In correspondence they were dismissive and rude.
In receiving disclosure it became apparent that they purposefully withheld information and then 'found' it.
I would advise STRONGLY in never having anything to do with Battens particularly in dealing with and inheritance matters. I have looked into how they manage trusts and estates and how they make accounts and non-filing of accounts and it's questionable to say the least.

We recently used Battens Solicitors in the selling of one house and the buying of another. There was an extremely tight deadline and they worked tirelessly to get the sale through on time. Communication was great - consistent, professional and friendly. The handwritten Christmas cards from the teams were a really lovely touch. We would definitely recommend Battens to friends and family and would use them again in the future.

Used Ross Sivyter and his team at least 5 times now for our various house sales and purchases, including my sons 1st purchase.
This was one of the most stressful house sales I have ever experienced. The buyer and solicitor did not help matters is all I can say.
Ross and his team went above and beyond to keep everything on track, and worked tirelessly to make sure we got our sale through before Christmas. Completion Friday 13th December.

There were times that I didn’t Understand certain information Michelle took time to go through paperwork with me and put it in Leman terms.

Bridport Office. So there I was in the waiting room with my declaration and proof of ID, 5 mins early for my appointment to sign the declaration. Anticipated to take 2 minutes. The receptionist came down and said the solicitor had to go to Dorchester for a more important appointment. She hadn’t yet left but refused to see me. “Could you come back at 4:30?”. Another appointment was made.
4:15 I rang to check and the receptionist said she would ring me. That was the last I heard from them.I was only in town that one day and had kicked around waiting for that specific appointment. Truly disgraceful behaviour from that office.

It is true I am not a client but an appointment WAS made, I was in their waiting room office. If i didn’t have an appointment why did your receptionist let me in and sit me down in the waiting room? Someone in the Bridport office is lying to you.
