Do not rent from these people. They will try to steal money from you and protect their awful landlords who leave their houses in a unfit state.

It took months to get money back for emergency repairs and our deposit to be returned.

They left us without a working back door lock, faulty and potentially dangerous electrics and a broken boiler for a year. Human sewage was leaking out of the drain by the front door. The landlord turned up without notice as did tradesmen regularly. We ended up calling the council to get involved.

They then tried to extort an extra £500 per month for a flat that is not remotely worth it.

Jamie, the manager of the West Hampstead branch, called my family at home to try and harass us into making it easier for them to relet the property whilst withholding rightfully owed money to us and having failed for a whole year to fix anything.

Avoid these cowboys and their awful landlords that they protect at all costs for your own sake.

Holy sh!t, Jeremyyyyy where have you been for the past 4 monthssss!!! Honestly out of maybe 15 different agencies that I have been emailing & calling nonstop, you and Dani have been the nicest, most helpful & caring! I would probably have ended up living in a tree otherwise. The most genuine agent I have spoken to all year♥️ I really appreciate everything you and Dani did to help me in this process. Ahhh cant wait to move in, paint walls, start fires, and such things.

Ruhul was very helpful and Black Katz were very attentive and quick to respond and get me into the property I rented quickly and I managed to secure it quickly too! In the busy market I was provided the best service!

We moved into our place which is managed my BlackKatz in April.
Our lease agreement requirements were not met when we moved in and are STILL out- standing. Some of the team responds to calls/ emails as they wish and have been extremely unhelpful in getting our issues sorted- replying to emails weeks later asking us the same questions over and over again.
The issues that were “dealt with” are all temporary fixes and we are still left with the same problem including faeces on our doorstep from damaged drains, blocked drains including toilets and showers and mouldy walls and roofs to name a few.

Would definitely not recommend BlackKatz!!!

Me and partner have been looking for a property for weeks, nightmare market in London right know. Till we come across this beautiful flat marketed by Black Katz, Islington Branch.

From what they have said to us, they operate on a first come first serve basis, avoiding bidding wars, love that, (proof in writing) and we are in contact with this agent that is really trying to help us out, meaning he manages to get us into an earlier viewing so that we can lock in the flat.

We go in 30 mins before everyone else, and we pay the holding deposit, brilliant we think right? No, because now the crying babies of the Islington branch make a fuss about being incompetent to arrange an earlier viewing for themselves, crying to the manager about it, the result?

Even though they have our holding deposit, which means that the property is off the market, and no other offers should be accepted, they are accepting any offers, and starting a bidding war, by telling everyone what the highest offer is so that they can match it or go higher.

We put in the highest offer, even tough they still have our holding deposit, which should mean that the property is ours unless something doesn't work out with the referencing and contract, and they send out all offers to the landlords, again illegal after accepting our holding deposit, getting back to us today that they went with a different offer, for whatever reason that we will never know, because from what they told us we had the highest offer.

Now we are back to square zero, we said no to a different property that we got the same day we paid the holding deposit, because we were assured that the property was ours and off the market, only to now be back at the start. They are a joke of an agency. Do not work with them as they will completely f*** you over.

He was super helpful and approachable and made the (potentially) stressful experience of finding somewhere affordable to rent in London and sign on it far less stressful!
Plus just seems like a lovely guy!

Generally very satisfied with Black Katz — our agent Johnny was informed about the property and helped us to secure it in a very competitive moment, and was always easily reachable. Contract processing etc. took a little longer, but we appreciated not being rushed unreasonably as often occurs elsewhere.
