Comprehensive all round fantastic service

The Audiologist was very informative, helpful and pleasant.

My first hearing aids lasted 7 years without any problems but since I was fitted with replacement aids I have worn one of them for roughly 14 days in 18 months. I had initial problems with constant buzzing and interference made worse when eating or speaking, the hearing aid was sent for repair but returned to exactly the same problems. It was decided to replace the hearing aid so a photograph was taken of the previous old one (very technical!) and they were requested to make one the same. That’s been returned to me but once again I’m unable to use it because it’s made my ear very sore, it’s not fitting correctly. I made a formal complaint before receiving the ill fitted aid and was told someone would deal with this personally, I was offered wax guard, which I’ve received and a dryer which hasn’t materialised. A week ago I sent another complaint because I have a very expensive hearing aid that is just sat in a drawer and unsurprisingly I’ve not received a response probably because I’ve now asked for compensation. The whole thing has been extremely upsetting, I’ve actually been in tears because I struggle to hear in restaurants or anywhere that’s got background noise. Just sat in a group with friends I miss conversations and the television is turned up to an unacceptable level for my husband. I would never recommend this company to anyone again because I would hate anyone to have the same problem as I have had. A friend the other day said “you should have gone to specsavers”. I think she’s absolutely correct.

Went for a hearing test and the following week saw the audiologist at Boots, Teesside Retail Park. The test was easy and my hearing loss was explained to me. The audiologist I saw (Maggie) the following week was excellent. She was friendly and took the time to get to know me so she could best understand what I would require from hearing aids. She conducted further tests and explained the results to me in a way I understood and gave me the opportunity to ask any questions as we went along. She showed me the range of hearing aids available and explained how each one operated and differed. She allowed me to choose which one I believed would be the best for me which she agreed with but there was no sales pitch or pressure to buy. She let me try a set of hearing aids and walk around the shop to let me experience the effect of them.

I've had my hearing aids for three days. So far so good but I'd be in a better position to rate the service after a couple of months.

Very thorough test. And when I mean thorugh I mean thorough. Far Far superior to national health tests.

Staff made me feel very comfortable, everything was explained well, opportunity to ask questions.
Process to assess hearing was detailed but easy enough to complete. Private room so didn’t feel intimidated by other people in the store. Very friendly staff

Maggie who works at Boots Hearing Care at Teesside Park is exceptional in her work. Very friendly and knowledgeable and really helped with my mum's hearing issues (mum aged 88) and helped when we needed a repair on a hearing aid. She really put my mum at ease when we were first looking into getting a hearing aid 2 years ago and was excellent when we needed a repair sorting. Maggie goes above and beyond in her role. Would highly recommend.

Maggie the hearing care assistant at Teesside Park branch was absolutely lovely, I had been putting off getting another hearing because I was embarrassed about hoe bad my hearing was and having to go through the various tests but Maggie soon made me feel at ease with myself and more relaxed and I finally got fitted for a new hearing aid she is a credit to the Boots Hearing Care Team thank you Maggie 👍
