Most people don't last working here for good reasons.
After typically completing 8-hour days, you are only being paid for around 6 hours at minimum wage. If you drive, mileage is reimbursed at roughly 30p per mile, which does not adequately cover fuel, maintenance, or general wear and tear.
Time spent preparing your caddy in the morning and returning to the hub to tidy equipment afterward is unpaid, despite being expected. This was not explained during the interview or onboarding process; I only became aware of it through other staff members who felt similarly exploited.
You are only paid from the moment you arrive at your first job. This creates further issues when jobs are underquoted to secure business, making it unrealistic to complete the work within the allocated time. This often leaves you choosing between doing a proper job or effectively working unpaid.
Your daily action plans suggest a finish time; however, this is rarely accurate. Be prepared to work longer days without being asked — it is expected, and there is pressure if you cannot meet these demands. A high level of flexibility is required, and it is advisable not to make commitments before 6pm, as you may be asked to assist other teams at the end of an already busy day if they are running behind. Plus you get your rota in between Friday-sunday (usually Sunday) for the following week, meaning it's last minute and your day can change at any time.
In addition, administrative tasks such as completing timesheets and calculating daily mileage (if you drive) must be done in your own time, unpaid.
The environment is highly pressured and time-sensitive, with minimal breaks between jobs. It can feel tense and uncomfortable, with very little margin for error.
Another serious concern is being expected to handle clients’ dogs when owners are not home. Even for those confident with animals, this presents a clear safety risk. There have been instances of staff being bitten.
While most colleagues are kind and supportive, there is a lack of open communication when issues arise from team leaders who report to the boss.
Overall, the working conditions may suit someone willing to accept the above challenges for minimum wage, but it is important to be fully aware of what the role entails. Many employees do not initially realise the extent of these issues. I luckily recognised these problems early and chose to leave.

I waited days for a promised phone call and they ended up sending an email saying how well I cleaned and my attention to detail where perfect..yet they couldn’t take me on because I was in other words ‘too friendly’ even though on previous emails sent said ‘we want polite and friendly’ never heard anything so pathetic in all my life!! Meeting new people for the 1st time and simply introducing myself and cracked ok working, I haven’t been paid for this either. Stay well away if you fancied a job there ! Clearly using people

Waste of time. Area rep came to talk up the service, said they could accommodate all my needs no issues, gave me hope as two very disabled people who can't clean the house themselves. Spent an hour here and took me 24 to recover from it, when I get an email saying actually they're not going to take me as a client. I ask why, what can I do? Ghosts me for days to give me a "sorry but no" email. Disabled people beware of these time wasters.

The cleaning Bright and Beautiful did was first class, but things were left dirty. Dusting behind radio. DVD and music centre to name a few. I was told paintwork would be cleaned. The banister wasn't touched downstairs finger marks left. Kitchen floor was cleaned but edges where rug was was left with dirty line round it. Gap between washing machine and fridge not touched. And legs under piano still had spilt drink mark on it. All in all I wouldn't recommend this company and they were not very friendly. Rang company but didn't get a response

Booked a deep clean for our home and it was truly worth it. The team did the job with a passion and were professional at all times. They left the house looking ready for a royal visit, and me with a winning feeling. Thank you Bright & Beautiful

An absolutely 1st class service received.
I arranged a visit to go through my needs for a weekly house clean for my parents. The initial visit was with a lovely professional lady called Jo.
She listened to my needs and put a plan together.
A week later we had an initial deep clean at the address and what can I say. What a marvellous team they have. Nothing was too much trouble and the level of customer service was impeccable.
The staff were really friendly and the standard of cleaning was second to none. No stone was left unturned from floor to dealing a complete deep clean was undertaken with absolutely amazing results. Very professional staff with lots of care taken to the clients needs whilst at the property.
Incredible service and I can honestly say I couldn’t recommend this company enough.
I’m one very happy customer and so are my parents too xx

Bright & Beautiful Telford - My advice:
Check your banked hours, when and how they are used. Take control of these yourself! You pay for them whether you use them or not!
Make sure you get your regular pattern in place to suit you - flexibility is not something that you will find easily
Be careful when you give notice - it matters!

Me and my partner are extremely impressed with our first deep clean from Bright and Beautiful Colchester. Our home looked immaculate and they went the extra mile to tidy up some of our things and make it presented beautifully, and made our cat happy with some treats we left. It felt like walking into an air bnb after work. Communication with the manager Kelly has been prompt, professional and friendly. No faults.

Having read others' "Google" reviews, it is clear that Bright & Beautiful suffers from the typical "arm's length" that limits the ability of franchise businesses to control culture and standards where it matters: at the customer-supplier interface.
My experience was excellent. I asked Deidre and her team to perform an end-of-tenancy cleaning in Banbury.
At the initial consultation, which Deidre attended and managed personally, it was clear that she was taking ownership of the challenge and that I could trust her. I explained the likely contentious areas and she assessed and noted all details before calculating her quotation on the spot.
I had considered several other companies, ranging from local "grumpy man with van" to "national brands". Unlike the others, which either couldn't be bothered to respond with a quotation or else wouldn't leave me alone, Deidre was excellent. Not the cheapest but, in supplier management, it is the understanding that comes in the relationship that delivers the result.
On the day, Deidre arrived promptly and set to work. I had ensured the house was completely empty as requested, and left the team to get on with it.
Half a day or so later, Deidre called and I returned to inspect. The effort expended and standard achieved were excellent.
I have also asked Deidre to provide quotations for my new house and will be agreeing a regular schedule with her once my renovations are completed.
I highly recommend Bright & Beautiful in Banbury and surrounding area and the service provided by Deidre and her team.
Again, every business interaction is between two parties. If you treat something as personal as cleaning like buying beans you're entirely dependent on where you live and whether your particular service provider is as professional as Deidre.

Bright and Beautiful gave our home a deep clean and have just started a fortnightly clean. We are very impressed with the service so far. Mary and Sam are a great team and have left our home looking lovely, clean and fresh. We also love the little attention to detail. Although it is priced higher than some of the other ones, we feel it has been worth paying the extra cost. Thanks ladies.

Awful experience! We had the Wirral branch in a scheduled deep clean then monthly cleaning there after. We had three girls come in, didn’t hardly speak. Which was a great start. We’ve got 4 bedroom house and they took about 2 hours upstairs and just under an hour downstairs. They said the limescale on the shower won’t come off. They cleaned one half of the double sink, dust on top of photo frames still and cup stair on kitchen surface still from morning. Would not recommend this company at all. They made us to feel we was in the wrong. We found out they were on a timer whilst in the house too! Nothing pulled out downstairs either as Alexa showed them not cleaning anything. We did get a partial refund but wish we’d never of gotten them to be honest as the money we got back wasn’t worth it at all! Beware in the Wirral area.
