They are real scammers. I bought a policy from them less than two weeks ago and cancel today. They are charging me £487 for cancellation paid 631 for deposit on the phone Call they said the cancellation charges will be £125 in total but they are charging me £487 and I spoke with one of their lady she said She can keep all the money because after two weeks they do not do refunds. Is this a joke? There is no Check n BALANCE for Insurance insurance companies.

I purchased a new van and swapped my insurance over but unfortunately after getting my new vehicle I had many issues with it and have had to return it.
BCD we're excellent in changing my policy over on both occasions and the staff members who assisted me were excellent and helped me throughout the process.

Renewal quote from BCD over £1300 then used comparison website and got nearly 10 prices less than that - best price £950.

As an insurance broker and partner of CX and AnyVan, my experience has been extremely disappointing.

I paid over £250 as an initial deposit in December 2025, followed by monthly payments. In the first week of February, I requested cancellation as I no longer had the van insured and had sourced a more competitive quote elsewhere. I also hold Public Liability and GIT policies with you.

In just 6–7 weeks of cover, I have paid in excess of £600. While I understand cancellation fees may apply, being charged over £300 for such a short period of cover is excessive and disproportionate.

I was informed that these terms were explained during the initial phone call, which I strongly dispute.

The cancellation figures quoted to me changed multiple times £260, then £300, then £154, and then back up to £304. I requested a full written breakdown and was advised this included:
• £70 admin fee
• £80 direct debit fee
• Additional insurer charges and premium adjustments

As an FCA-regulated broker, transparency and fair treatment of customers should be fundamental. This experience does not reflect that standard.

I believe commission partners such as AnyVan and CX should be aware of how couriers are being treated, particularly given many drivers rely on these partnerships for insurance arrangements. I was also told that if I cancelled, “they would be informed,” which felt inappropriate and unprofessional.

I will be escalating this formally and requesting call recordings for clarity. I will also be submitting a complaint through the appropriate regulatory channels if this matter is not resolved fairly.

Couriers deserve transparency, consistency, and fair treatment.
