Absolutely horrendous company to deal…
Absolutely horrendous company to deal with. Ordered a prep fridge a week ago, called to find out when I could expect delivery to be told it is actually out of stock but no one bothered to tell anyone so they sat with full payment for over a week. This is despite contacting them not once but twice to ensure the goods were in stock, which I was told they are.
Zero help in offering an alternative, didn`t really seem to care. Absolutely horrendous company to deal with.

If you leave it a while before checking for stock and ordering you may be dissapointed. If an item is out of stock you will be informed immediately by email with different options including a prompt refund.
If you are close to a decision and comparing a couple of products we will assist with all questions. If you require us to go through all the different products, manufacturers, variables and size options we may email you a specific link to the equipment category you require in a list format and price order. Rob, we are sorry we have not met your expectations on this occasion.

Purchased a Insect-O-Cutor SE22W Fly Killer. Fast delivery and the unit works very well - as soon as it was plugged in it killed house flies and fruit flies - they are instantly attracted to it. Happy customer!

My commercial williams fridge died on me, so I made a call to Catering Hygiene and the gentleman who I spoke to was really helpful, and promised me I would have a new fridge delivered within days compared to a lot of other company's out there which have waiting times of four to six weeks, my hat is off to you guys thank you so much for getting me out of a pickle.

Purchased a double door Drinks Cooler Fridge which did not work as soon as we turned it on.
Contacted Catering Hygiene Immediately, who did not care and requested that I email - which I did only for them to not look into the issue.
Dealt with someone awful called Maria Rafferty who HAS NOT ISSUED MY REFUND despite several requests.
They have still not collected the useless faulty fridge which Catering Hygiene Specialists supplied me with.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY PROVIDED ME WITH FAULTY NON-WORKING GOODS.
THEY HAVE NOT ISSUED MY REFUND.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.
THEY HAVE YET TO COLLECT THEIR FAULTY DAMAGED ITEM.

Faisal I'm sorry this situation has caused you such distress. But appreciate you taking the time to raise this point so we have the opportunity to publicise our policy.
Your Polar fridge needed a service visit through the warranty. No commercial fridge manufacturer will just issue a refund or replace the fridge without getting a qualified engineers report through the warranty. Under Polar's terms getting an engineer out who cannot provide the documentation to support his work can nulify this.
We are sorry this has happened but would greatly appreciate you removing the personal details entered.
urgent fridge in stock - wasn't - took payment - no reply
We ordered a beer fridge, needed urgently and marked as in stock - they emailed a few days later saying they had taken the payment but delivery was in fact up to 6 weeks. I asked why they had the fridge as in stock and took payment - no reply several days later - I would not use these time wasters
Absurd reply from cateringhygeine - why did they take the money fo the fridge was not in stock and why did they then not reply? Plenty of other similar complaints leads me to think they just use this as a scam to boost their cash flow -

Phillip thank you for taking the time to share your experience as it is a very valid point. Like our competitors we don't have a live stock feed as we deal with over 60 different suppliers. However, it is pretty accurate and as soon as we get the information we update our site. However, during these unprecedented times there are a lot of issues with stock so until the global shipping crisis ends it's best to call before ordering.
If an item is not in stock you will get an email immediately offering you options how you wish to proceed. If you miss the email most people don't miss the item they call or email back promptly to discus options. All refunds are processed promptly.

Awful Service and Haven't Received What We Paid For
Shocking Service - Should have listened to these reviews. We ordered a cake display fridge (almost £2000) that was supposed to be delivered within 3 days, but were notified that it may take up to 5 days but would reliably delivered within that period. However, it didn't turn up until 10 days later, with absolutely no apology. On top of that we paid an extra £160 for castors which have never turned up, and for £160 quite shocking that you have to fit them yourself. We called up and reported this straight away, and basically got no information or apology. We were told we'd hear back from them but we are still waiting a week later, and are left with a £2000 fridge we can't use properly yet nearly 3 weeks after ordering.

Terrible business
Terrible business. When goods didn’t arrive they claimed they were out for delivery. However after one week they were unable to locate them or provide any proof of them being ordered or sent.
Then they said ‘we will charge you what we like. We’ve got your money and we will take what we want’.
That’s the kind of company that is. They are not meeting their trading obligations. I would pay the extra and go to someone legit next time. Appears a lot of other people have had this experience. Based on their other responses, I think I can bet the response they send to this will be telling us why we are wrong.
I’ve requested the call under GDPR and I’ll pop the clip online.

However we thank you for taking the time for doing this as it’ll hopefully make future customers aware of what they need to do to avoid potential additional costs that may be incurred from internet based commercial catering equipment suppliers.
CHS Ltd aims to offer the lowest prices with quick professional telephone support, we’re constantly checking competitor’s prices, so you don’t have to thereby ensuring you get commercial quality products for the best prices! Like our competitors we are a business-to-business website and consumer rights do not apply as you are trading under business terms. We hold stock of a number of items but also ship from manufacturers and importers whom themselves and their delivery companies will pass any costs caused by our customer’s error back to us. To provide you the best possible price, we cannot absorb any additional charges passed on to us; to remain the cheapest if the error is due to our customers, we have no alternative but to pass these costs back. Understandably some people are unaware of business trading and can get frustrated even though we are very transparent with our terms. To avoid these issues arising on purchasing we send emails highlighting the points where additional charges can be incurred. We offer good customer service but work within the boundaries below, please be aware of the following areas where additional costs can be incurred.
1) Aborted deliveries for large items like fridges and ovens; please ensure you’re there for the delivery and a large lorry can get to your premises.
2) Engineers called to your site and the issue is not covered under warranty (e.g. like a faulty fuse). The manufacturer will send us the invoice for work outside the warranty, we will request a fully refundable deposit prior to authorising the engineer. This is refunded in full when the manufacturer confirms the repairs were undertaken under warranty.
3) Most companies require damage in-transit to be reported within 24 hours. To help support your situation please take plenty of photographs of the damaged box with the delivery driver, if possible. Sign the note as damaged if you accept it.
4) With re-stocking we do not cover the return postage and will not pay for your re-stocking fees if
imposed by the manufacturers or importer.
5) If you have a back to base warranty you’ll need to cover the postage and we will act as the messenger between yourselves and the manufacturer. They may not cover misuse like scale in a water boiler when a filter should have been used.
6) Some manufacturers may not accept back any item that has been used or is not in the original packaging.
The points above can understandably be contentious for people unaware of standard business terms and we’re pleased to make customers aware of these situations to minimise them occurring in future. We are a fair company who’ll not change our terms for customers who are abusive, repetitive or threaten to post public reviews. If you want the best prices in the industry and great customer service whilst working within these boundaries we are a great company to trade with. When shopping elsewhere within our industry please be aware all our competitors have very similar terms.
