2 of my last 3 glass bin collections have not been collected, bill is up to date, I got a message last night to put out my glass bin out but it wasn't collected again today.
I have been with country clean for over 10 years but the last 1-2 years I have been having issues with bins not being collected even tough bill is paid, I will be moving soon and will NOT be getting them again.

They’re ripping people off I had my bins paid in advance up to the end of march 2026 they hadn’t taken my bins the whole month of December and January I was left with overflowing bins. The girl on the phone was very intimidating and practically wanted more money from me even though I sent emails of transactions that I had paid up to march , I had to pay again another instalment of 34 euros for them to come and take away my bins and I terminated the contract PLEASE AVOID this company at all costs they’re cowboys and should be investigated.

We have had continual issues with Country Clean leaving lots of rubbish in our estate and had to contact the company on several occasions. Today I contacted the company to raise that my recycling bin wasn't emptied - it was still half full. The first customer service rep was very new and unsure of how to manage my issue. I emailed a complaint and was called back by a member of the team who decided to use a very aggressive tone, telling me that my bin was lifted - and rubbish must have been stuck - which it wasn't it was loose. She went on to say that the average recycling bin should be 11kgs. She advised that I would receive a bag in the post and to put my rubbish in that until two weeks time when they are doing a collection again. Incredibly rude on the phone, completely defensive and dismissive. I would be very slow to recommend this company if you're new to the service, I had Wiser Bins for 15 years and never an issue. Disgraceful customer service, anyone can have a mistake- just own up to that and apologize on behalf of the customer, the last thing you should do is make it worse and be so rude.

Today we were expecting our recycling and rubbish bin to be collected after a month and a half of payments going through and still the bins have not been collected.
I rang the customer service team frustrated that my bins have been overflowing with rubbish for the past month, while the bins were indeed paid. There is current rubbish been left in bags out in the back kitchen to stop mice from getting at them. The rude member of staff advised me that my bins would not be collected for a further 2 weeks, which is absolutely appalling. It is not the first time I’ve had issues with this company and if you value a clean house, id advise anyone to stay well clear of this company.

They failed collecting my bins for 2 months because they said "its dangerous to enter my public street" when wiser surprisingly is coming. Expecting me to drag the bins on top of the road that is far away and leave them on the side of a national street
When emailing and phoning I could only deal with people that shouldn't be paid to work in customer service but my money are being take out from my account monthly. So please everyone stay away from this company and complain to cork city about them
Country Clean: A Masterclass in Missed Collections and Excuses
If you have any alternative waste service available to you, avoid Country Clean. In my experience, they have been consistently unreliable, uncommunicative, and dismissive of their customers.
Collections are frequently missed with no transparency and no meaningful explanation. What’s even more frustrating is that they often send automated texts telling you to put your bins out after a non‑collection—only to still not show up afterwards. It feels like a box‑ticking exercise rather than an actual attempt to fix the problem.
If you live on a main road, you might never notice these issues. But for anyone on a side road, hill, cul‑de‑sac, or narrower street, the service becomes a game of excuses. In my experience, they regularly blame “slippery roads,” “access issues,” or vaguely “blocked routes,” even on days when conditions are perfectly fine. It increasingly seems like the drivers simply skip more difficult routes or run late and just pass by.
It’s incredibly disappointing to pay for a service that feels this inconsistent and unaccountable. After multiple missed collections, contradictory messages, and zero ownership from the company, I can honestly say that this has been one of the poorest service experiences I’ve had.
If you can choose another provider, do yourself a favour and do so. My experience with Country Clean has been frustrating from start to finish.
Terrible service
Terrible service. I can see a neighbour of mine paying 100 euro less per year with exactly same 4 bins and size of bins, same collection days, and sent the invoices to the company as evidence, and they refused to explain why or allow my price to match my neighbour. Awful customer service - after 6 weeks of waiting for an email reply, they just copied and pasted their last email from 6 weeks ago, really rude. Definitely go with another bin company.

Awful company. They are agressive in chasing payments but if you've an issue they are awful. I paid my bill in advance of drivers coming but they said it needed to be day before, and now they are telling me 2 wks before collection. Not one bit nice. Go with anyone else other than them!!!

Absolute worst company to deal with. Taking 2 weeks to answer an email or the phone they make the fact that they can not answer a call the customers problem and want you to pay for their absolute lack of customer service.

I would give them no stars as per customer service. I tried to close the business and they didn't even want hear anything. Keep shouting and threat as I'm not the account holder even though I just wanted to pay extra month for bin collection fir my husband. Didn't want to speak with me at all. Irrational sick Stephanie working there. No direct managers email contact, when I said I will complain she told me to wrote to sales team and when asked about who is her manager said like there was none you can put Sean, yeah attention of Sean. Disgrace not a customer service. Nationwide company but standards below mediaeval expectations. Frustrated employees should grab them self a vibrators and ask for holidays! No wonder why people leave full bins and won't pay for their collection, they are just neglected to receive proper information.
Last Tuesday 2nd of September put blue…
Last Tuesday 2nd of September put blue bin out for recycling and went to work as usual. Came home in evening to find the bin after recycling collection had no top and the white pins were stretched and broken where the lid is hinged and was witnessed by my neighbour that the lid came off as the truck was shaking it to remove recycling. I phoned Weds the 3rd of September to get it repaired and got a text on the 8th to put out on the 9th and the word in the message was repair. The repair van pulled up at 11.15 on the morning of the 9th of September 25 glanced at the bin and was gone in 30 seconds. I phoned country clean at 1400 and was told it was a new bin had to be replaced and I had to pay the 15 euro. The operator kept on repeating its policy for the bin to replaced I pay it. No conversation or quarter shown by the operator to resolve how can we solve this problem for you as it's not your fault. No compassion towards the customer just it's policy over and over. So I end up paying for the incompetency of their employees. If not no where for rubbish to go.
It's disgraceful that they don't have pride in customer care even with long customers.

I would not recommend this company at all. I’ve been trying for over a month to sign up to receive bins, and the entire process has been an absolute nightmare. Between unanswered emails and phone calls, their customer service is appalling.
One representative, Siobhan, told me I wasn’t on their designated route. However, the “closest route” she mentioned was actually the very road I live on. Once it became clear that she had made a mistake, her responses completely stopped.
I also tried calling the company, and while I was assured that my call would be returned, it never was. This is clearly a terribly run business with zero regard for potential customers. I am glad I never became one of them. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company altogether.

Very Disappointed – Poor Communication and Unfair Charges
I contacted Country Clean the day before my scheduled collection in July to inform them that I’d be away for two months and wanted to temporarily stop service. The customer service rep failed to mention that if the first collection of the month happens, I would still be charged for the entire month — even though I wouldn’t be using the service after that one pickup.
She simply told me to call back the next day, after the collection was done. When I did, I was informed that I now had to pay for the full month anyway — despite only receiving one collection and clearly stating I wouldn’t be using the service again for the next two months. I was told to make a manual payment for the full amount, and they would stop the service immediately after.
So, essentially, I’m being charged in full for a service I’m not receiving. Very poor communication, no flexibility, and no effort to support the customer. Just a money grab. Feels like they’re more interested in squeezing every euro from people than actually providing fair or transparent service.
Not impressed. Won’t forget how this was handled.
Stay far away from this company
Have been trying to get my glass bin collected for almost a year now and keep getting fobbed off, had a terrible experience with a Stephanie on the phone today who was awful to deal with, kept cutting me off and rudely hung up the phone on me.
Would never recommend this company to anyone
