Needed to transfer currency from a European country (Euros) to my UK bank (Pounds) with confidence. I have recently started working in KSA and was looking for ways to send money to the UK. Currency Transfer came highly recommended by my friends and colleagues. I used them on 6th July 2023 and was able to make a transfer from KSA to their banks in the UK ( in Saudi Riyals) and received the funds on the same day in my UK bank account. They are very friendly and professional people to work with.

The system of currency transfer is also very smooth and slick. You get an updated rate every 15 seconds and once you have booked it they will hold that quote for 24 hours.

Since April, May and June 2023, I did multiple transitions with a handsome amount from Saudi Arabia to the United Kingdom. All the funds are transferred as committed given date. Mr Nick and his team are always available to help if it is required.No problem at all. I can recommend anyone who wishes to use this channel.It's trustable.sure

The acquisition of an apartment overseas turned out to be a nightmare because of the incompetency and the lack of communication at Currency Transfer.
I was sending USD to be transferred in Euros for the closing.
They have good reviews and good rates which is why I decided to work with them. It was going to be a long term relationship I thought.
It started pretty good and we did a first transfer for a small amount as a test.
When the second transfer was initiated at a specific date and the exchange rate set up for a much larger amount the transfer was denied numerous times. I was devastated because my dateline was approaching.
The Fraud Department of my US bank blocked all outgoing wire transfers.
My US bank did cross examinations and concluded that Currency Transfer Operations Team didn’t send the accurate banking instructions for this specific transaction and eliminated the intermediary banking instructions.
In the meantime I had cancelled the exchange rate for the first transaction because the money couldn’t be sent.
This was the first mistake they did.
When the proper instructions were sent back to my bank, the wire transfer went through within a day.
As I was reaching to Currency Transfer and eager to discuss a new exchange rate since it was in my favor, I was told that they couldn’t identify the money transfer and that the money wasn’t there even though I had forwarded to them all the appropriate banking references and that the money had been debited from my personal account.
This is their second mistake telling me they didn’t know where this money was.
I have lost lots of time, energy and money and on top of that they charged me transfers fees on the previous transaction that couldn’t get through even though it was due to a mistake from their Operation Team.
As of now I still don’t know exactly where my USD money is and how I’m going to do the exchange to Euros for the closing on time.

Website shows a transfer example from ILS to Pound with very good markup. However, after opening an account, uploading documents and scheduling a call, the company representative claims that such transfer is not supported and advise closing the account and to use competitors. Waste of time and effort due to misleading advertisement.
In addition, the company representative says that the account will be closed by him, but I could still log and had to close it myself.
At least the company representative did call on time, so that is something.

I am very sceptical about sending money to anyone over the internet, who isn't?

Having been referred to CurrencyTransfer.com by a work colleague I thought I would give it a go, having first read up about them on Trustpilot.

I usually transfer my salary direct from my overseas bank into the UK bank, and was losing quite a chunk on the exchange rate. Usually 350GBP to 400GBP.

Fast forward to last month, when I transferred using CurrenyTransfer.com and Nick Cornford-Jolly.

It went like clockwork, first time took a day for the money to clear, second time was a matter of working hours.

I saved around 300 GBP last month and similar this month.

I wish I had found Nick and co in 2019, I would be much better off.

Nick is very helpful, talking me through the process, and over a year I expect to save 1,000s if the last two months are anything to go by.

What can I say.

Once you realise the money that can be saved by transferring money abroad using a service like this instead of a bank transfer, you're left with the terrifying realisation that you have to hand over a large sum of money to an institution you are not familiar with, that uses other banks to move your money around.

We went with Currency Transfer, one of two that we shortlisted thanks to Trustpilot reviews. Currency Transfer had the (slightly) better rate, and easier to use UI, but even if that wasn't the case, I would recommend them for the level of service we recieved. Nick helped me move successively larger sums of money from the States to the UK, with the most recent being the proceeds from the sale of our house. In that transfer, I messed up the reference number when completing the transfer from my bank, and Nick went above and beyond to both reassure me my money was safe, fix the situation, and then show me evidence of the money moving along properly at each step.

Can't recommend them enough for what can be a stressful, new experience.

I have had a superb experience with CurrencyTransfer converting GBP to TRY for purchase of an apartment in Turkey on 28 April 2023. This review is long to read, but I believe it contains information that will help others.

I started in late March by looking at the offerings of 8 different currency brokers. I choose CurrencyTransfer because they offered a demo that I could try, their fx rates were near the best, Trustpilot reviews were 5*, and I liked the quality of engagement and attentiveness that Tom Radford and Nick Cornford-Jolly provided once we made contact. After some initial phone conversation, Nick and I were in contact almost daily throughout April via WhatsApp.

From 30 March to 20 April, I booked portions of the total sum that I needed for my purchase, in 12 lots, for forward transfers to be delivered to bank accounts in Turkey on 26 April. This meant I did not risk exchanging my full amount on the day of the month with poorest GBPTRY fx rate. Since interest rates in Turkey are much higher than in the UK the prices I received for forward contracts were significantly better than spot, ranging from 24.47 to 24.10 TRY per GBP, averaging 24.24. I saved about 1% compared to exchanging the whole amount on 26 April.

The really valuable thing was that I had Nick holding my hand ever step of the way. I am a fairly experienced DIY investor in shares, but currency transfers of large sums is a field in which I have only a little previous expertise (having used CurrencyFair, Revolut and Wise). Nick introduced me to the use of the Relative Strength Index indicator, by I could gain some daily guidance as to whether or not this might be a good day on which to sell GBP. The CurrencyTransfer website is easy to use, and designed so that it is hard to make a mistake. When I transferred in my GBP it was to an account in my own name (with a UK sort code and account number). This meant that payments from my UK bank accounts could proceed without a hitch.

CurrencyTransfer work with FCA regulated partners Plexo and CurrencyCloud. They earn a fee by setting the client rate about 0.5% below midmarket.

It was essential that my money reach the vendor on a certain day, without any unexpected delay. I liked that the payments manager, Pooja Majithia, was able to pre-authorise my recipients, making sure there would be no problems. (I have bad experience with some currency transfer companies suddenly discovering that additional anti-money laundering checks are needed and the payments are then badly delayed.) I was delighted that on April 26, my funds reached the Turkish banks accounts early that morning.

I will use CurrencyTransfer again, when we do renovations to the apartment and live there. Currently CurrencyTransfer has a minimum exchange/transfer of £5,000. So unless that changes I forsee I will need to make some continuing use of Revolut and Wise for smaller sums.

In summary, I recommend CurrencyTransfer for 1) the personnel that they have for you to work with, 2) ease of communication via WhatsApp, 3) ease of use of their website when checking prices, booking transfers, checking your balances and contracts, 4) the ability to book forward transfers (something not possible with Revolut or Wise.)

My experience from start to finish with my transaction for a large amount was excellent. Nick was my account manager and very quick to reply and advise accordingly. I definitely plan to use CT for my other international transfers in future. Great service. Thanks very much.
