I placed a fairly large order on Wednesday 28th May. Julie let me know that unfortunately they didn't have the full quantity of pre-wired fishplates that I ordered and refunded me for the 1 pack. The order arrived the next day in 2 parcels and were both well packed. Included in the one package was a packet of biscuits as a thank you for the purchase, we found this a lovely touch. I have used Derails on several occasions and have always been pleased with the service they provide. If you are looking for a reliable model railway shop you can't go wrong with Derails.

Having ordered from this company a number of times since I found them on line I have always found their customer service excellent. Orders of in stock items are turned around very quickly, with my most recent order I was pleasantly surprised to receive completion of that order before Christmas when I had resigned myself to waiting until the new year having ordered quite late in the day.

Deliveries are always securely packaged but not overly so. Information on the status of the order was given frequently and up to date.

Overall an excellent experience with Derails each time I've ordered from them and I'm very happy to recommend them as a supplier of model rail equipment.

Top quality customer service. Parcel was late, not Derails fault, but they kept me fully informed sorted it out and even refunded the delivery fee. When it did arrive it was very safely packaged and was a bargain as well

Used Derails first a year or so ago mainly because of the price of the items, but also the free postage (over £20). Delivery, communication, price all great. Have since visited the shop several times and staff are always helpful and up for a laugh.

Returning to the model railways hobby after a break of many years I always buy from Derails whenever possible.
A small family company, they're always happy to help. Product knowledge is strong and pricing is competitive. They also proactively follow up periodically on customer satisfaction, not with a mail containing a link to a third party survey provider, but with a personal email. And they will reply to your response.
I'm struggling to think of any other company providing that level of personal attention in this industry or any other.
And when you buy from Derails you get a small packet of biscuits packed with your order - that does it for me.

Hadn't heard of Derails but was recommended to them by a railway club member. I ordered Bertie , 32mm steam loco, for grandsons Christmas, Birthday and rest of the year present. The service from Derails was great, friendly staff and all queries dealt with promptly. Bertie runs well and grandson delighted.

Derails are very good at keeping you informed of the progress of your orders. They are well packaged and arrive in a reasonable time. I will be using them again.

This is the first time I’ve bought items for my hobby from Derails, though they did come recommended by a friend for giving good value for money. He didn’t tell me how they put the customer at the heart of their business focus. Not only do you get a good deal, you get an email as your order is processed and you can track your goods as they make their way to your house. Then after a week or so, you get another email to check everything was to your satisfactory. Thank you for such a good service. I’ll be coming back for more good deals in the future.

I have ordered from Derails a number of times over the years. They are very competively priced and always have a good stock of what I have needed. I also find their postage charges very reasonable which adds to the value of ordering from them.

In the past I have had queries about an order which Dan has anwered very promptly and assisted me. Not only that on one occasion what I ordered wouldn't do what I required and a quick email from Dan pointed out my mistake and he was able to sort it prior to posting which save me time and money.
