Pure Junk
The product was paid for up front,apparently a stock item ,until payment cleared. Then out of supply, 2 months and plenty of chasing later,it was delivered. The quality of some of the components are not fit for purpose, a dispute with PayPal raised, and the company, must be well aware of how this works, strung me along until time elapsed for resolution and case closed.I now have to take it up with my card company for a refund

We appreciate there was a wait for the door which you ordered, which was out of stock at the time of order (we never stated, nor implied that this was a stock item - In fact we emailed you to ensure you were aware of the delay with an open and honest approximate date it was due back into stock).
As regards a Paypal dispute, our goal has always been to work towards a resolution in good faith, as you were unhappy with the frame that you received. As stated in previous communications, we're happy to offer you a full refund on this item provided that this is returned to us. We're unsure what "elapsed", from what we can see, we responded to all of your messages promptly and we have no control of the process/the actions you decided to take. We are unable to close a case ourselves, this is purely in the hands of Paypal who make a decision based upon the information available to them.
We acknowledge that you made amendments, worked on and fitted the goods, and as per our policy, once the product has been altered, it is generally deemed accepted. Nevertheless, we have made every effort to offer you a gesture of goodwill or a full refund, and we believe we have been more than reasonable in addressing your concerns.
We are sorry that you are unhappy with your order, this is certainly far from our intention.
Please feel free to return the frame, and we will promptly process a refund as offered. Failing that, we'll respond promptly to any query you choose to make via alternative methods.

Overall very good!
Good clear communications with the staff on a custom sized door. Price was acceptable but 20 week lead time was a little frustrating. They managed to speed up delivery a bit which was good. Overall very good.

Where to start (part 2)
Hi Steve,
Sadly there appears to be no way to reply to your response so unfortunately here's another one star review.
Your guy was the third delivery to our home that day, the previous two managed without incident.
The wasteland, or more accurately described as my neighbours usually well manicured grass, though covered in snow, it was blindingly obvious what was track and what was grass.
Obviously as you're based in Chesterfield, why would your guy know my area, I'm pretty sure the two previous delivery drivers to our home that day were also not local.
When your other driver turned up and tried to assist and left after one brief attempt at pulling the van out, we notified the driver that we had to go out for a medical appointment I was about to point out to him where to leave the doors and the shovel I'd lent him, but he said they won't be offloaded today and they will be delivered tomorrow, Friday.
I couldn't assist the driver as I was four days out of hospital having had spinal surgery but why your rescue driver couldn't help driver one the 15 metres with two small doors is beyond me, if he had then this one star review would have been a far higher 4 or 5 star review.
On the Friday I emailed and asked when could I expect the delivery, at 10:30 when I'd had no response I rang, not to complain (listen to the recordings if you have them) but to ask when the delivery was coming, the person I spoke to said "I'll call you by the end of the day as it will be next week", guess what she never rang back. I emailed again Monday morning and was told we are working on it, then late Monday I get the "Delivery is looking likely to be on Wednesday this week" the term likely isn't what a customer is looking for, what do I tell my boss, "hey boss I'm likely going to be off all day waiting for a delivery and I might be off the next day too".
I appreciate you wanting to defend your guy and your company and within minutes of the successful delivery I had an email requesting feedback (good or bad, your words) so I obliged but as it was an internal to Doordeals I felt the wider buying public could benefit from my experience of your customer service.
As for driving down and retrieving your drivers rubbish then please do arrange a visit, you can also see the damaged plant driver two broke with the doors which he just left by our door on the rain sodden ground, he couldn't be bothered to place them inside the porch and instead left my wife to manage them, and before you point out your policy of doorstep delivery only, can I draw your attention to item 1 on the delivery note "deliveries can be made to an easily accessible ground floor location only".
As for the final delivery driver not having space for the rubbish, he refused point blank and told my wife "the vans chock a block" well he just offloaded two doors so he had plenty of room, what he didn't have was any customer service skills so perhaps you can give him some education.

Hi John,
Deliveries can be handled in various ways, depending on the company and logistics arrangements. Often, orders are assigned to courier firms, which then transfer the items to local delivery companies for the final leg of the journey or then there can of course be companies that deliver from further afield. While we cannot comment on other deliveries you advise you received that day, we can confirm that our driver was not familiar with the area and, as a result, lacked local knowledge.
In regards to the driver advising the next delivery date, if this was the case we are unsure why this information was given to you and apologise for any confusion this may have caused. There is no way the driver would have known the next delivery as at that point we still didn't know ourselves due to many different factors involving getting the goods back to our depot, arranging a new delivery route etc.
As mentioned, the re delivery took some planning and scheduling. Whilst we hoped we could advise that day, unfortunately we did encounter some logistical challenges, however,
as mentioned in our previous response we did endeavour to advise of the new delivery date as soon as we were physically able to.
We have reached out to you to inform you that we are happy to make the 250-mile round trip to collect the three carpet tiles left behind by the driver, sparing you the need to dispose of them.

Excellent Service
I ordered a double door pair for the timber conservatory we are in the process of refurbishing, together with related acessories and fittings.
The quality is to a high standard and the doors have now been prepared, varnished, with all the fitting ready for installation shortly.
Communication from the company was excellent, including a phone call from them to agree and confirm delivery times.
Their own delivery driver was friendly, polite and a real pleasure to meet.

How can it take this long to make a door?!!
The lead time was 'estimated' at 5-7 weeks. It actually took 10 weeks to produce and deliver one door and frame - one. That's pretty inaccurate. How does it take that long to make a door? A competent joiner should be able to make a door and frame in 3 or 4 days without breaking sweat. If I hadn't threatened to cancel the order, it might have taken even longer.
The quality is very average with breakouts and filler here and there. It was a stable-door and the top door is out of true and doesn't sit well with the lower door so that's going to be a pain to sort out. The glazed units supplied came with very annoying stickers on the surface, which will take quite a while to remove.
I doubt many of the '5 star' reviews can be genuine. I will not be using this company for any similar work. It held my project up and was very inconvenient - it's a big difference to be installing an external door in the middle of October compared to the end of November. All I had was excuses when I complained. I cannot recommend this company. Avoid.

You ordered a bespoke sized stable door and frame, with the order being paid and therefore processed on 09/09/24. At this point, these were advertised (and we emailed you to confirm) as having an estimated lead time of 5 to 7 weeks for manufacture of the timber items, a further 3 to 10 days for manufacture of glass, with delivery following this.
From looking at the system log, the order was passed to our logistics team as ready to dispatch on the 8th November, which was right on the longest estimate of the lead time communicated.
Whilst I appreciate you wanted the door and frame sooner, we do communicate the estimated lead time up front and before order, with this is based upon an honest assessment of the current production queue. A joiner didn't begin manufacture on the day you placed the order, nor continue to manufacture for the entire period - There was never even a hint of "3 or 4 days" either prior to or after the point of order.
At the point you expressed a wish to cancel the order - as per our previous communication - the order was manufactured, was ready for dispatch and with the logistics team for routing - this had no impact at all on the manufacturing lead time.
Whilst I appreciate you are clearly disappointed, Trustpilot collect reviews on our behalf and take steps to verify the source of these, whilst the 5 star reviews might contrast your personal opinion, they are those of other customers who have purchased from us and been happy with the experience. Something we do strive to ensure in as higher proportion of orders as humanly possible.

Disgraceful business - steer clear
Disgraceful business with incredibly misleading lead times. Did not deliver within the lead times stated. Cancelled the door. They agreed to refund 6 weeks later, but no refund. £500 out of pocket for 6 weeks. In touch with bank who are now attempting a chargeback. Poor at best - Fraud at worst. Steer clear.

7 weeks after ordering a standard door - No contact or tracking info on my order. I called DD for an update. The door 'might' be on the next order into you. Hard to say, apparently? I then initiated a refund on the 23rd of September, which DD agree to do straight away. 7-10 days I am informed.
6th November - no refund
Call bank - they will look into it - another 7-10 days
I think you can see why this is unacceptable, and unless you can prove you initiated a refund by email showing the evidence of you doing it on the 23rd of September - you didn't do it?
Send it over, and I will update the review

From looking at the notes on the order and the communication we had with you - in terms of the lead times - at the point you decided to cancel the order, the door was almost complete and we were on course to meet to lead times we had communicated with you.
As regards the refund, I'll certainly chase this up with the finance team to see what the situation is and the records we have this side, as I would have expected you to have received this. This would be made to your original method of payment and subject to bank/building society clearance times.
I can assure you that there is nothing fraudulent at hand in manufacturing a door to order as instructed (which we've ended up having to stock/attempt to resell) and we'll absolutely ensure that you have been refunded accordingly. I can't see that we've had any contact from your bank/card company, but I'll get this investigated by our finance team and we'll come back to you accordingly.

Well-made door
We bought a new hardwood door from Doordeals. We haven't fitted it yet but so far everything is good. The door is well-made and well-finished. Doordeals kept us informed and the door was delivered when expected by a pleasant and helpful driver.
