We recently moved into our Duchy home on Wynyard.Yes we had a few very minor issues but Gary Peacock the site manager has kept in constant touch with us ,nothing was too much trouble and always tried to get things sorted. A real asset to the company .Thanks Gary.

All staff have been very helpful, understanding and patient Very quick to answer any questions or follow up queries Never felt pressured or rushed at making choices

Purchased a 3 storey Bletchley in June 2024 and had nothing but issues since. Upon moving into the property we had a long list of snags including most of the oak doors we upgraded were scratched,, the kitchen cup boards were chipped, the en suite shower tray scratched, incorrectly installed brick lintels, chipped stone cills outside, damaged PVC plastics, blocked toilets, multiple paint and silicone issues... The list can go on. Lots of the list has been fixed (sometimes taking more than one attempt to correct) however despite some issues being raised when we moved in, 15 months later we are still chasing these issues..
The toilet blocking was the worst, we had a specialist company come on various different occasions to camera the toilets, finally after months of going back and forth it was decided that some of the pipe work needed to be removed in order to rectify the problem. Countless times we have had to take time off work to be in to get these repairs fixed.
We have only just had the shower tray repaired last week. The scratch was origin ally fixed but not to standard and the repair started to discolour. The show tray had to be replaced. This took approx 10 days to complete as the tiles needed removing, damage occurred when removing then the tiler didn't have enough tiles etc etc. We could not use this room for this entire time.
We are still now awaiting for issues to be resolved, many of which are a result of trying to fix another problem in the house.
this has unfortunately pushed us to list the house for sale as we have fallen out of love with it due to all the issues and bad service we have received from Duchy. We have reached out to construction directors, and more recently the CEO of duchy to try to help rectify this situation and we have had no reply as of it.
For a supposed 5* builder, the service and customer care from Duchy is hideous.

Although my house purchase is just in the early stages I have been really pleased with how helpful the team have been so far.Nothing seems too much trouble.
I am really looking forward to completion day now.

Highly Recommend Duchy Homes – A Fantastic Experience from Start to Finish

We couldn’t recommend Duchy Homes more highly. From start to finish, the experience has been absolutely fantastic. Christine made the buying process so much easier and far less stressful. She kept us updated daily on the progress and was always available to answer any questions we had, going above and beyond to help wherever she could.

In terms of the build itself and the few minor snags we encountered, Gary, the on-site manager, has been outstanding. He is a real asset to Duchy Homes - always responsive, and gets things sorted straight away. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him.

A huge thank you to everyone at Duchy Homes at Elwick Park. If you’re considering buying a new build, Duchy Homes is the one. We truly couldn’t have asked for more.

Paula has been great since we first walked into Duchy show homes the back end of next year and knew this was exactly where we wanted to buy. She’s always gone the extra mile and we’ve finally chosen a plot we love, she’s provided us with all the information we have needed and answered any questions along the way!

Michelle was brilliant throughout. From first contacting her all way through the process she was professional and friendly . She made it a very personal experience with no pressure .

Reserved our Duchy Homes property with Michelle, we’ve visited the site a few times and Michelle has always been really helpful and answered all our questions, nothing has been too much trouble .

We came to the sales office on the off chance of reserving a home for next year after a bad experience elsewhere and walked away reserving an amazing home that will be ready in 3 months all going to plan! The whole process from start to finish with Michelle has been seamless with no pressure at all. We can’t comment on the build quality for obvious reasons but the customer experience has been great. From the get go Michelle has been fantastic; from our first initial visit just to see what houses were available and the whole process to the reservation of our property! Nothing is too much trouble, no question is a problem and answered or the information found out for us. Michelle has so much knowledge about the site and each house. You will always be made to feel welcome even if it’s just to have another look around the show home. We can’t Wait to move onto the next step of choosing some extras for our house and then move in! Christine was extremely patient and supportive today as we reserved our new home.
She was exceptionally knowledgeable about the build, site and amenities, navigating her way around the interactive screens with consummate ease as she provided us with all the information that we needed.
Finally she was able to assist us with choosing our optional extras.
Took all the pressure of us which was appreciated.

We have reserved a plot at Scholars Gate and our experience with Duchy Homes has been great so far. Our sales advisor, Michelle, has been excellent and nothing is too much trouble for her. She is cheerful, friendly and very efficient, addressing any concerns and answering any questions we have had to our full satisfaction. She has kept us fully-informed at every stage. We have also met Luke, one of the site managers, who showed us around our plot and inside a similar house which was further along in its build than ours. Again, friendly and knowledgeable. To put the cherry on the cake (no pun intended) Michelle gave my mum a birthday card as our first viewing fell on her birthday! She also makes a delicious Cappuccino.

Settling into our Duchy home lovely, gorgeous place to live and a gorgeous house to call our home! Paula is so lovely and a great help helping us during our buying journey buying our family home and Liam is great and always happy to help!

All aspects of pre sales prior to contract signing professionally managed by on site sales team. Agree moving in date of August, moved in November. Disappointed . Site management team first class regarding snagging resolution.

Currently in the Process of exchanging contracts for one of the homes on the Scholars Gate site in Barnsley, the whole process has been smooth sailing so far.

Michelle the sales advisor is brilliant, very knowledgeable and wants the best for the buyers. We haven't felt as though we have been pushed into purchasing and have being put at ease whilst purchasing our forever home, which understandably can be quite daunting.

We have met both the site manage and assistant site manager, who are again very approachable and knowledgeable.

I cannot yet comment on the build quality, however I do not have any worries that any future concerns will not be rectified.

We're in process of buying our new home from Duchy homes Darton -Barnsley and Michell Ball was absolutely amazing, professional and welcoming making our experience very special .

Paula G is an absolute credit and asset to Duchy Homes. I started my house buying process over 18 months ago, and despite multiple visits, countless questions and deliberations Paula has been so patient and genuine through the whole process. I’ve viewed what feels like every new development in Sunderland and I was always drawn back to The Meadows.
