I am and continue to be incandescent with rage. Took my driving test at Gillingham test centre on 26.2.25. I failed coming out of the centre, as my Instructor put his foot on the dual control pedals telling me I was entering the road without the requisite observations. It went down-hill from there and I should have secured the car and got out and cancelled the test because my examiner had decided on that immediately, (fulfills their quota for the day). I am aware that they are not your friends but being rude and aloof will adversely affect your confidence, AND guess what, when called for my test 4 white men came out, Where's the diversity in that? I also believe there is a degree of ageism going on and this should also be addressed. Furthermore, I wouldn't choose to drive in Gillingham as the roads are atrocious. How are you to keep full control of car if the road is full of pot holes. Due to financial exploitation, which HMG has not addressed, regarding the selling of tests, I was forced to take test in Gillingham. I live in London. So I think that's the end of my journey. I could have purchased a BMW for the money I have spent for this privilege over the years. Hopefully I will drive without a licence in the coming war because the powers that be will be too busy fighting the war. So overall, my score is very low as it represents my distaste with the examining process and its many flaws. Lastly a very positive 10 out of 10 to my instructor. You know who you are. Pip

I am a Class 2 truck driver 🚚 and thank God I am skilled and I drive all over the country, but I failed twice with them, in the Class 1 truck, 😒
I hope that in the future the evaluation will be with 🤖 automated technology, better than humans, a person may be angry at home in the evening and fail the trainees in the morning 🤬 or he doesn't like the way the driver looks so he fails too, depending on his mood 🤨

Had my driving test in Crewe with examiner Ian. Was very patient and gave a thorough explanation of the process. Made me feel at ease and was able to treat my test as just another drive. Even had the confidence to have a chat with him while I was at it. Passed with 5 minors and he gave a detailed explanation of where they were made and what I can do to avoid them next time I’m on the road.

I am thrilled to share that I passed my driving test at Mill Hill Test Centre. My experience was remarkably relaxed and safe, thanks to Sirish. Knowing how stressful exams can be, Sirish immediately put me at ease, allowing me to focus on the task at hand. The Herne Bay test centre was friendly efficiently and well organised. More importantly my two test instructors on the day were accommodating, friendly, helpful and kind. This made the difference between a confident ride. Wayne and Nigel are both a credit to the DVSA service and both truly professional test instructors. I passed my driving test today. The driving examiner Leon is a complete professional. He made me feel at ease from the beginning of the test to the end. He tested me on the maneuvers, asked me the questions and took me through the test with such ease that my initial nervous state was calmed. He really deserves more than 5 stars.

I can't imagine the pressure learner drivers are having to go through currently!.
- The pressure of passing the theory test with an expiry date of 2 years
- The pressure of learning to drive while paying an instructor with no date in sight to book the test - financial pressure!.
- The pressure of checking DVSA website every day/night with absolutely no available dates near my area for over 2 years!!!!.
- The pressure of attending the driving test and having it cancelled/ rescheduled to a future date (seriously! 😳).
It's just pathetic. My daughter has been learning to drive (paid and personal lessons) for over 5 months now, and I'm just concerned that every day brings her closer to the expiry date to redo her theory test again + she heads to Uni in September.

My suggestions are:
- An overhaul/ standardising the overall process of DVSA.
- Temporarily extend the deadline after passing the theory test from 2 years to 3 years, to reduce added pressure.
- Stop offering theory tests temporarily, until the supposed 'backlog' for pratical tests are cleared up! (Stop using Covid as an excuse!).

I had my driving test at Erith and I was really lucky to get Henry as my examiner. He made me comfortable since the beginning of my test. He sensed that I was nervous and he calmed me down. He was really professional and the instructions he gave were clear and straightforward.

If you get Henry as your examiner, you will feel a sense of calm as soon as he introduces himself to you. That helps a lot in controlling your nerves and building confidence. Thank you, Henry, for making my driving test a good experience.

I passed my test today at Warwick Wedgenock house and i had Jess as my examinor. She was absolutely lovely and was very kind and supportive! She made the experience so much better than i expecyed it to be, so grateful for her.

Got test this morning. Was at the test center already seated. An examiner approached me and said they just sent me an email that my test is been cancelled due to examiner not available. I checked my phone immediately and saw that 13mins before my test, was when they sent this message and rescheduled my test for 3 months time.
I was very unhappy and still am. I was mentally prepared to take my test this morning. I struggled to book my test 5 months ago and imagine this nonchalant attitude from DVSA.

I really need to take my test ASAP. I CAN'T WAIT 3 MONTHS PLEASE

DVSA are still lying all this waiting time issue for a driving test slot is because of Covid, that was 6 years ago!!! If you’re not capable of recovering from a 3 month lockdown, make space for the competent people who can. But we all know that’s a lie and that they sell the slots to third party companies for a profit.
How can those apps even exist, in this day and age when they can wipe them off the internet and ban them the next day.

I recently had my driving test at the Mill Hill Test Centre, and I was fortunate to have Sirish as my examiner. From the moment I arrived, Sirish was welcoming, professional, and made me feel at ease. His calm and reassuring demeanor helped reduce my nerves, and he was clear in his instructions throughout the test.

Sirish took the time to explain things thoroughly, which made the whole process feel smooth and manageable. I appreciated how he maintained a friendly yet professional approach, giving me the confidence to focus on the task at hand.

Something needs to be sorted. Waiting 6 months for a test puts so much pressure on these kids that are more worried about failing as the wait for another test is so long. Going in to a test with that additional pressure when they are already nervous is very unfair. Even when refreshing constantly to get a cancellation doesn't work as the system blocks you. This is due to the bots taking all the cancellations - deal with the bots rather than preventing legitimate people willing to spend hours a day trying to get a cancellation. Even when they do come up it's like playing whack-a-mole as you are competing with bots, so you can't click quick enough to get it. It is a really unfair system.

Ridiculous waiting times, there's nothing available in my area until the end of May 2025! Is this a joke? I have 3 test centers in my area, and none of them have any earlier availability.
This not accommodating at all. Selling the available slots to 3rd parties for them to sell them for even more money is disgusting practice.

I didn't pass my test with a lady called Louise. She's apparently well-known in the area for being a panicky person (how you can employ a panicky person as an examiner is a mystery to me). She made the atmosphere quite tense and unpleasant. She had a very timid voice, so I had to ask her to repeat herself every time she gave me directions.
When I was taking a left turn through a yellow box there was a car coming that was over 25 seconds away and was going under 30 mph, I was the first car in line and I had plenty of time to turn, yet she slammed the break like crazy and tells me I should've waited (it then took another 15 seconds for the car to come near the yellow box, I would've already been gone from the yellow box by the time the car would be on it). What a joke.

Overall really disappointed with this whole experience. Hopefully next time I'll pass

I completed my driving test last April 2024, the test was going brilliantly, no mistakes, on the final hurdle, 4-5 mins from the finishing line, i kept extra focus, i came to 5 exit lane roundabout, the sat nav asked me to take the first left, which i did, i done all the checks, indicated, the whole 9 yards, all was going well, until examiner, reached across, and said you are in the wrong lane, within this split second, i moved over onto the correct lane, there was two lanes on exit one, i herard from the sat nav, take the first exit, i did not here take the first exit, and then move over straight away to the right lane, so when she reached across towards me, and said what she said, it completely through me off to the point, of me moving over to the right without checking properly the mirrors, this split second, caused someone to come behind me, and beep me, which resulted in a major, and that was game over!!, when i took the fiirst exit, and stayed in the left hand lane, even though the sat nav, said for me to then go into the right lane, the examiner should not have reached out towards me, with a raised voice, she put me completely off, she should have left me in the left lane, and then put me down as a minor, for not listening properly to the sat nav, as i was causing no accidents, and i was doing all the checks by the book,

booking a driving test in london, is the same as passing the test, because its so insanely stupid to even get a test booked in, WTF is going on!!

This afternoon,i logged on, i seen there was available tests in a location near to me, i clicked on the date on the dvsa calender, entered my bank details, clicked the final check out button, took me about 90 seconds, upon checking out, and confirming payment, a white screen appeared, saying there was a problem with the system.

I checked my bank acc, dvsa had taken my money, but there was no test booking confirmation,

i called them up, they said, somebody, must have booked it before me, and my money will be giving back to me in 5 working days, bearing in mind, all tests that were available today, tomorrow they will have been all taken, its beyound a fecking joke! if you are let on that something is available when it isnt this is fecking infuriating! This is day light robbery, why should i have to wait 5 fecking days to get my money back, for their incompetence , within this time, all tests will have gone, why would i pay again, not knowing if the same situation will happen again, i have looked into the citizen advice bureau, and it says the following, AI Overview
