WELL READ THIS 😡 ....I arrived at passport control que just before the gate to the plane for business class, mine and my son's flight was 6.45am it is now 6am so 45 mins we allowed for passort control .
( wow was i wrong) out of the 6 desks they had only 1x staff on trying to deal with aboyt 60/80 guests with more joining the que every minute. Time was ticking and every1 was starting to worry, then guests started pushing in and barging 1 another shouting im gonna be late let me through etc , i the shouted for the 1x staff to call for help but it went into deaf ears. It was now 6.40am & the guy is serving people who have literally turned up to que & pushed right into the front even though ive been in the que 40 minutes. At this point Policia allow all this to happen without stopping any1 pushing in and trying to gain any order. It was absolutely shocking , then Policia allowed a German family well behind me in the que to cut because they shouted they have just 2 mins to get onto flight in even though they were on same flight as me so when i then tried to follow them with my son the Policia 2x handed pushed me back nearly throwing me onto the floor, took my passports off me and then walked off , after following and chasing him around airport asking for them back for 25mins i realised he was doing it on purpose so i miss my flight then he gave em me back and sed im not flying today. I could not believe what i was seeing or hearing, ive qued with my son with ample amount of time like a gentlemen and now im stuck in the airport with no luggage or flights back home because of the Airports shortage of staff, and corrupt police officers, ive asked at Airport for CCTV but theyve sed cameras dont work at passport control, what a load of Bull 💩
I had to book another flight later that day to another city then get a 2.5hr Uber back home costing me £165 . Having my son with me on this trip and having him see the officer treat us like that and man handling me for no reason , he now doesnt want to fly again as it was such a long day.
Never check in a bag!
Consistently looooooooong…I mean, excessively long waiting times for baggage. Plan for at least a 40minute wait after you land here. Completely ridiculous that I almost wait longer for my baggage vs the time in the air!
Don’t touch SIXT
Don’t touch SIXT. Despite charging the full car rental cost beforehand if you arrive late they give your car away - they then charge more to help you!! I was honoured to pay more to get a car when we arrived late .. told to wait 2+hrs if I wanted my original choice. I am sure they saw the 2 young kids with me.
Well done SIXT / everyone I spoke to in Germany was surprised.. thought you were better.
Lots of other and more honest car rental companies.

Should be zero stars! Yesterday was my second experience with this airport and both disgraceful… we arrived a lot earlier than supposed to but drop bag area wasn’t opened, here’s no self service so had to wait, the staff came around 2h before our departure time, but it took them over half an hour to serve everyone! Unacceptably slow! Next gates were also very slow, lack of staff to direct people! Then huge queues to the duty free checkouts… overall I’ve no idea how this airport still operates, extremely disorganized and understaffed!

Heute 28.4. Uhr Betrug bei Kiss & Ride im Abflugbereich Düsseldorf.
Ich habe bei der Einfahrt um 09:58 KEIN Ticket erhalten, bei der Ausfahrt wurde eine Geldstrafe von 25 € verhängt.
Nach Angaben des Sicherheitsdienstes hätte sich die Schranke ohne Ausstellung eines Tickets nicht geöffnet. Anscheinend ein Systemfehler, der mir in Rechnung gestellt wurde.

Horrendous
Horrendous, I have travelled many airports, however, this is just awful! The queue for passport was 1 hour long, many people were going to miss their flight! Once through passport control, shop was closed, it shuts at 18.15 my flight was delayed for an hour until 19.55, I was unable to purchase water as the drinks machine would only take 1 euro coins. Just horrendous will avoid at all costs.

Ik wou 0 sterre geven maar dat ging niet, dus ik geef een 1. Ik wacht al uren met honderden andere mensen op onze bagage . Nul communicatie over wat het probleem is, integendeel er wordt onvriendelijk gereageerd wanneer je er achter vraagt. Ik hoop dat dit probleem snel word opgelost, zo dat toekomstige reizigers niet met dit zelfde probleem zitten.

Same problem now several times - departure passport control massively understaffed. A shambles. Avoid if you can.
De saaiste plek ooit
Een van de saaiste plekken waar ik ooit ben geweest. Ze veranderen het gatenummer gewoon nog even een uur van te voren zodat er mensen zoals ik hun vlucht missen. En je word geen eens omgeroepen. Waardoor meestal heel lang moet wachten op een van de saaiste plekken ooit om een andere vlucht wel te halen wat weer extra geld kost.
Very poor passport control
Very poor. On a plane from UK and only 40% of passport control booths open. Therefore, long slow queues. Didn't they know a plane was landing....? Ridiculous.

No one speaks english. Some understand it but refues to do it. Worst airport in Europe

Just shameful
Shameful situation needing to wait 50 minutes for a baggage drop-off to fly to a european destination (although arriving 2 hours earlier)… only 4 check-in counter for two flights (400 passengers) for Aegean airlines and 12 empty one for Eurowings. Adaptation is a really helpful thing. Next time think about opening the counter from Eurowings( when they are totally empty) for other airlines so that the passengers don’t wait for ages.

Vlucht van Düsseldorf naar Dubai, met een tussenstop in Antalya. We waren bij incheck bali 240, bij de supervisor om 11:00. De meneer zei dat we niet mochten vliegen omdat we geen visum hadden. Ik had bewijs dat met een nederlandse paspoort niet nodig was. Daarop kreeg ik antwoord van nee je moet sun express bellen. Daarop na 50 minuten bellen met sun express en duane konden ze niks betekenen. Ik vroeg dus aan de gene van bali 240 kunnen we naar antalya vliegen dan kijken we daar verder. En daarop gaf hij geen antwoord, ik wou zijn naam noteren. Hij deedt zijn naam kaartje af en liep weg. Ik heb de mevrouw bij balie 241 gevraagd of zij mij kon helpen en dat was geen probleem. Tussen door wel 2 uur later. Ik wil een klacht indienen kan iemand hierop met mij in contact?
Het moest niet langer duren en onze vakantie was verpest.

Clown show at passport control. Monday morning 10:30 am, two of ten windows open. Considering Düsseldorf ain’t exactly a tourist destination you’d think they would do more to welcome visitors. Adding to the never again list.

Massive que at passport control. Massive que at security. The chance of missing your flight is very high. We almost missed the conecting flight. Only because the people in the que let us go ahead thanks to them we made it on the plane. We had to pay £45 to check in. Very bad atmosphere in the airport. Unfriendly staff and confusing signs.

What did not go wrong? I arrive at Düsseldorf and see that my suitcase is broken (2nd time this happens at this airport. Never happened before and I have travelled alot). So my next mission is to find someone to help me write a damage report/replace my suitcase. I went to a service point to a woman who ignored me even tho i stood in front her. No smiling. Colder than ice. When I finally got contact with her after yelling «HELLO?», she sent me another place. This new place was not the right place to report damaged luggage either, so I am sent to yet another service point. The new service point tells me that I can report damaged luggage in the baggage claim which I can no longer access (i did not know this, and i just keep wandering around asking random people where to go). After 5-6 stops with completely different information, i finally get escorted back to the baggage claim where I spend 5 minutes finding the «lost and found» where I can get a damage report.
My boyfriend was also waiting for me with his car at the pick up. The airport was absolutely full with alot of traffic. He was 1 minute too late, and has to LEAVE his car in the middle of the street to go to an ATM to pay 5€ for 1 extra minute. No mercy from the people working there. Dear Düsseldorf. Get BETTER signs and better infrastructure…
