Visited Ernest Jones in Plymouth to resize an eternity ring bought the previous day from another branch in Exeter. I dealt with a lovely lady called Caitlyn who was helpful and friendly. She identified that the ring I had bought was a different metal to my engagement and wedding rings and explained why it is recommended all rings are made of the same metal. She agreed to exchange the ring for another, which I actually prefer, and arranged for the new ring to be resized. The whole process was quick and easy thanks to Caitlyn.
I would highly recommend this branch of Ernest Jones.

I bought my wife a 50th anniversary present in the plymouth store. The customer service, choice and friendliness of staff was excellent. Will definitely buy all my jewellery here in future.

We recently visited the Plymouth store located within Drake Circus. We received fantastic service by each and every colleague who helped us each time we came in. Once to browse, once to order and once to collect our order. They are all so friendly and chatty! Made me and my partner feel so welcome and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble!

Went into our Plymouth branch and was served by Carly. She was so patient with me and nothing was too much trouble. A week later we went to pick up our rings and Carly remembered us straight away which was lovely. My partners ring was perfect. However, my wedding ring costing 1,099 which came from another branch was disgraceful. The white gold band was very very badly scratched all over and was very discoloured. To me it looked like an old second hand ring. Carly was embarrassed, and this was NOT her fault. I paid for the ring and waiting for another, but since coming home I am now wondering how the hell this happened and thinking of asking for my money back. It has spoilt what was otherwise a perfect customer service by Carly

In December 2018 I took a ring into a branch of Ernest Jones. I had inherited the ring from my mother and both she and I believed it was set with an emerald and six small diamonds.
One of the diamonds had come out and got lost, Ernest Jones charged me £201.39 to replace the diamond.
Last month another stone came out and I took the ring into a different jeweler to have the stone replaced, expecting a similar charge. This jeweler rang me with an estimate of £40 pounds to replace the missing CZ. I queried this and the jeweler rechecked the stones and informed me that all the white stones (including the one replaced by Ernest Jones) were Cubic Zirconium.
I feel totally ripped off by a jeweler I believed to be well respected.

I did get a quick response to my post below. Despite the disgraceful accusations no apology has been forthcoming. Apparently, despite what the manager said, I could access the cctv under GDPR. I was told that the district manager would contact me on their return from holiday on the 15th August, yet I am still waiting. I consider that I have been reasonable in waiting 4 days before posting again.

The bracelet pins were adjusted and the watch recharged. I consider that this indicates that both were faulty. However, the bracelet still came undone regulalrly so couldn't be worn. I have now, finally, had a full refund.

In view of the lack of an apology, from anyone in the company, over such disgraceful conduct by their senior staff, as well as the initial refusal of a refund for obviously faulty goods, I would suggest that you think at least twice before using this company.

I purchased a watch and bracelet gift set for my partner from the Plymouth store. The clasp on the bracelt kept coming undone and she actually lost it while in Menorca. Fortunately the restaurant that we ate in found and returned it. The watch stoped working even though being worn consistently.

I returned it to the shop, asking for a full refund after around 7 weeks as neither were fit for purpose. The store refused, saying that it had to be returned to the manufacturer. I explained that my contract was with the store, not the manufacturer and asked again for a refund, which was again refused.

I asked them to send me an email to confirm that my request for a refund had been refused. This was agreed to and I asked that the email clearly state that I had asked for a refund. I was informed that the email would be written as how they see fit. I again reiterated that it should state, as a matter of fact, that I had asked for a refund. I was then told by the female sales assistant that she found me to be intimidating. I expalined that I had not raised my voice, used abusive language but simply made a reasonable request for accurate information.

I did state that I considered her response to be shocking and disgraceful and asked if they had CCTV, which they do.

The next day I was called by the store manager, another female. I asked why the email hadn't been sent yet. Apparently they are not allowed to send emails outside of store opening times??

I again asked for the email to be factual and to include my request for a refund. I also raised the issue of being falsely accused of being intimidating, simply because i wnated to stand up for what I consider are my rights.

The store manager then stated that she also considers me to be intimidating, while speaking with her on the telephone. Another disgraceful false accusation. I asked if I could get a copy of the CCTV under data protection but was informed that I cannot, as even the police would need a warrant to view it.

When I did receive the email that day it did not state that I had asked for a full refund, as I had requested. It did refer to the possibility of a full refund if the items were found to be faulty.

In the circumstances, I would be very wary about attending this store, because if there is an issue with a purchase, you never know what you may be accused of if you simply try to assert your rights in a calm, reasonable way.

In an affort to be objective, I am not saying that this is the type of experience that you my receive in other stores.

What an excellent experience. The staff went above and beyond to help me decide on my purchase. Excellent customer survive and very welcoming and friendly staff.

The store manager and sales assistant where unbelievable in their customer service and professional attitude a credit to Ernest Jones will defiantly go there again to purchase jewellery and watches

I bought a engagement ring for my fiancee but it had 2 go away to be enlarged to the next size up,its been 3 weeks now and we still haven't had it back,she has been unable to show her parents and was hoping to show her best friends this weekend when we were going to have a engagement celebration also we took out insurance on the ring and a payment has already been taken but as of yet no ring,which I think is unacceptable, now the salesperson we dealt with at the shop in Plymouth was brilliant but the aftersales service is just not good enough.
