Very disappointing stay
At the beginning of May I stayed overnight in a luxury lodge with my son and his two young children. Very disappointed. The evening entertainment which my little granddaughter was looking forward to was cancelled due to a football event and we were, at no point prewarned. The hot tub was cold. The swimming session cut short. Again, not advised. No access from the property.
But worst of all, the lack of response. I have made numerous attempts to get at least an apology, at best some sort of recompense.
I have only ever received an auto response, nothing human. The last one being 30th May 26. I have been in hospital ever since and hoped someone might have tried to help by now the beginning of July. But still nothing. Disgraceful!
booked for midweek break as a treat for…
booked for midweek break as a treat for grand children and family members on 16th june 2026.
everything advertised on website as being open (restaraunts,shops,kiosks,bars..)
completely different story when getting there, most were in fact closed for the entire three day stay, ones that were open only opened when they felt like it, no sticking to opening times as advertised on the app, queried this at the Diner when we noticed it should be open only to be told that maybe we may open in another twenty minutes ,maybe! already half an hour late opening! also queried at reception only to be told that we should check the app, after telling them we had and all the so called open eateries were closed they just said well they should be open according to the app! they were shut the entire three days stay!
one of the rides advertised on website as not even been finished yet so couldn't go on this (lion coast boat)
all in all the break was ruined by just trying to find somewhere to have meals and not have to eat junk at inflated prices.
made a formal complaint to flamingo land with regards to false advertising on website but yet to get a reply (over two weeks later now).
think very hard about booking during the week as nothing is open, would not go again, which is a shame because the prior time was great four years ago
Had a monday to friday stay in a lodge…
Had a monday to friday stay in a lodge here. With the exception of the monday where there were a few loud, bulshy, visitors that pitched up nearby the park, push their way in and think they are superior than everyone else. It was a great time from then onwards as the rest of the days were trouble free and very quiet. Lodge was lovely and clean, swimming pool area was good. Facilities really good, all staff were friendly and helpful. Got speaking to errol in the customer reception - absolute diamond, informative and helpful. Went for the animal experience after the park closed and the guy taking the tour was polite, helpful and friendly, answered any questions from people with great knowledge.
A couple of rides were shut but still loads running and plenty to do.
Couldn't see any animals
Couldn't see any animals, apparently all sleeping according to staff, and eating places mostly closed, except burger waited half hour to get served, appalling don't even understand English
We visited for my son's birthday
We visited for my son's birthday, and unfortunately it was a very upsetting experience on the 09/06/2026. My son has severe autism and was removed from the soft play area, and we were told not to return, after he pulled another child's hair.
We explained he was not being aggressive, angry, or distressed. He seeks interaction and attention in ways that are not always socially appropriate. It was a single incident. Parents are not allowed into the soft play area to closely supervise or intervene, so children are inevitably left to navigate situations on their own. Young children do these type of things even without autism! The person dealing with it said we had to leave for the safety of the other children, so he was excluded because he has autism.
I have visited Flamingo Land three…
I have visited Flamingo Land three times now, and unfortunately, each visit has been more disappointing than the last.
A noticeable issue throughout the park is the lack of maintenance. Many attractions, play areas, and facilities for children appear broken, worn out, or poorly maintained, and they do not seem to be getting repaired. It gives the impression that upkeep is not being prioritised.
The toilet facilities were particularly shocking. On my most recent visit, there was no soap available in several toilets, and the smell of urine was so strong that it was genuinely unpleasant just to be in there.
Considering the full admission price, I simply do not feel that the experience offers good value for money. I would especially not recommend paying full price if you are visiting as a family, as the cost can be significant and the overall experience does not justify the expense.
Another major issue is the queue management. Waiting times for rides were ridiculously long, yet staff were often sending rides with only one person on them when there was clearly room for more riders. This made the queues move far slower than necessary and added to the frustration of the day.
Overall, Flamingo Land has steadily declined in quality during the three times I have visited. Poor maintenance, inadequate facilities, inefficient ride operations, and high admission prices make it difficult for me to recommend the park to others.
Currently here now for a few days
Currently here now for a few days, it's a mixed review. Caravan is lovely and cleaned to good standards. Reception staff were really good and very informative. Staff in supermarket really friendly. But staff in arcades the old skinny bloke horrible. I have an autistic 13 year and we been trying the last couple of days to win a teddy out the machine they desperately want. We've went round the shops spent alot of money the machine isn't even picking the teddy up. So I asked the horrible bloke could I buy it he said no way. Which is fair enough but then to go on and say I don't care if they have autism you clearly haven't tried hard enough to get it. I mean come on how rude and uncaring I was absolutely fuming with him.
I haven't been to Flamingo Land since…
I haven't been to Flamingo Land since the 90s and I was too young to ride the thrill rides, however I remember parts of the zoo etc. Anyway we went yesterday Sunday 26th April and I was pleasantly surprised. I normally go to Alton Towers which is right on the doorstep for us,but I fancied going somewhere different.
The zoo is fantastic, big enclosures, some new ones being built, the animals look extremely well cared for and unlike most zoos Flamingo land actually place animals together i.e same country together as they would do in the wild which is fantastic to see.
The rides were great, and yes some parts need revamping, however low queue times along with extremely good value for money when it came to the food along with very good pricing on the merchandise in the ride shop and decent pricing in the gift shop makes up for it.
The refill drinks you can purchase are in Flamingo land themed cups ,buy three for £13 and free refills all day,and the Upper deck fish and chips meal deals were £10.00 including a drink. I had two large chips and cheese which were grilled on top which was nice and three slushy drinks mixed and came to £22.00. If I can compare the pricing at Alton Towers and the quality Flamingo land tops Alton Towers any day both on proving and quality of the food.
All four of us really enjoyed our day and it was a nice hot day too which made the experience even better.
The staff were pleasant and super helpful, the toilet facilities were clean and no shortage of them either,I honestly can't fault the park, yes it could do with a bit of a revamp in places ,but I could see construction going on in certain parts. I think too many people give this park a bad reputation, but I've been to quite alot of parks but they are merlin owned and so it's nice to see a park that is still run by the original family and know how to run a park and not charge ridiculous prices for stuff.
We shall definitely be returning without a doubt,my daughter wants to go back for her 18th.
Thank you Flamingo land for such a memorable experience and a fabulous day 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Extremely disappointing experience at…
Extremely disappointing experience at Flamingo Land.
We made a four-hour round trip to visit the park, with fuel costs alone around £50, which made the overall experience even more frustrating given what followed.
The first ride we queued for was Hero. After waiting over two hours, the ride broke down and closed before we could get on. We then went to Kumali and waited over an hour, only for that to also break down.
At this point, we had already spent three hours queueing without getting on a single ride. We were issued fast passes, but when we tried to use them on Mumbo Jumbo, we still had to wait around 30 minutes due to the volume of other guests in the same situation—only for that ride to also break down.
It was clear this was a widespread issue across the park, not just bad luck on our part. Many guests had fast passes due to repeated ride failures, and by later in the day, fast pass queues were in some cases longer than the standard queues, making them almost pointless.
After four hours, we still hadn’t experienced any rides. We briefly went on the train while deciding whether to leave, as most of the day had been spent queueing for rides that kept closing.
Eventually, we managed to get on Mumbo Jumbo and Kumali later in the day, but that meant we spent the entire day queueing and only experienced two rides in total. We didn’t have time to visit the zoo, enjoy other attractions, or even stop for food.
There were also additional issues throughout the park, including multiple rides being closed or repeatedly breaking down, ineffective fast passes, and vending machines with non-working card payments—forcing long queues just to buy drinks.
We visited Guest Services, but the response was disappointing. We were offered another fast pass for a ride that had already been unavailable and overcrowded, rather than any meaningful resolution such as a refund or return tickets.
Overall, this was extremely poor value for money. We paid for a full day experience and received nothing close to what was advertised.
To make matters worse, it has now been almost two weeks since our visit and we have received no response to our complaint. As a result, I will now be contacting my bank to request a refund for services not received.
Very frustrating experience from start to finish.
We've had a fantastic day and wanted to…
We've had a fantastic day and wanted to share a positive review after reading all the negative ones yesterday.
The staff have been so friendly and helpful, special mention of Brandon in the gift shop for going above and beyond with helping us and to all the staff on Sik, Kamali and hero for working so hard keeping us all safe.
The toilets were clean and constantly mopped. Floors were immaculate.
The family enjoyed the pancakes in the diner.
We'll definitely be going back in the 6 weeks! Thanks to the Flamingo Land team
Wouldn’t waste your money paying full…
Wouldn’t waste your money paying full price and lots of attractions closed no food outlets open for re fills on extremely expensive drinks . Shouldn’t be allowed to charge full price when only half the rides are open and 1 3rd of the food places closed
Shocking price . Waste of money
So we arrived on the Friday 3.4.26 until 6.4.25 so 3 nights. I took 3 teenagers age 15 and 3 adults cost me £481 for 6 people , complete rip of . When we arrived Kumali and motor bike ride closed all weekend so this ment the only 4 other rides were queues of about an hour or more at least , and then hero broke down aswel and people were stuck on it , so it was down to 3 . So me and hubby took our well behaved dog to find out the only place she could go was around the park no bars , restaurants or amusement’s would let her in so we were stuck in the caravan all weekend. Absolutely shocking pricing. Never again
LIKE AN ABANDONED SITE
While we were aware in advance that many of the rides were closed, we still expected a pleasant and enjoyable day out given a price of over £40 still. Unfortunately, the overall appearance of the park was extremely disappointing and fell well below expectations.
Large areas of visible building work, piles of rubble, scattered rubbish, and what appeared to be old or unused rides created an untidy and neglected impression throughout the site. Rather than feeling like a family attraction, parts of the park resembled a construction zone. This significantly detracted from the experience and atmosphere.
In addition, many of the signs around the park were dirty, weathered, and in some cases damaged. This added to the sense that the site is not being maintained to an acceptable standard for paying guests.
We understand that maintenance and development work is sometimes necessary. However, this level of visible disruption and poor presentation does not justify the eyesore that’s been created. Even with rides closed, we still expected a clean, well-presented environment where we could enjoy the day.
Instead, the visit was incredibly disappointing.
I have taken multiple photos of the visit to show the broken old rides, piles of rubbish and rubble. The whole place felt neglected, abandoned and as though no care for upkeep was given.
Sadly, the experience has completely put us off returning in the future with our children and wider family, which is particularly disappointing as we had hoped this would become a regular family day out.
I cannot explain enough how wonderful…
I cannot explain enough how wonderful staff were from the moment we arrived…
Myself and my three grandchildren staying in February in our Tentbox. Our first big adventure out.
Reception greeted us and made us all feel very welcome, taking time with each kid talking to them and giving them badges with their wrist bands. Especially Errol, who went out of his way to come outside and show us which way to go. First night, we were lovely and toasty with our electric blanket. Errol called us at 10am to check in on us and offered to charge our appliances and filled our hot water bottles for the kids as we walked around the park. We had the best time. Food was brilliant, loved the Gyro’s wraps and Fish & Chips. On returning to collect our appliances we were greeted with all the reception staff come out their offices smiling at us…. The big Boss had heard how brave we were being in our Tentbox and he had gifted us a top notch beautiful caravan for our second night with hot showers, really comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. We were delighted. Entertainment was bang on with lots and lots of prizes given out to all the children. Swimming and slides excellent and Leisure center staff going out of there way to help us too by giving us a space to dry our towels and costumes as we were in the Tentbox.
Wonderful time had by all, I can’t thank Flamingo Land enough for making our Little Adventure unforgettable xxx Lynne xxx
This place needs closing down!
This place needs closing down!
Gift shop staff disgrace!
It's such a shame I have to leave 1 star, because I had an amazing day at the Christmas experience. Santa was great. Errol was fab and sung happy birthday to my mum. All the staff were super friendly. The polar express was amazing. Unfortunately, the day was spoiled by the disgustingly rude, bad mannered and aggressive female member of staff in the gift shop. We purchased a faulty product and on returning for an exchange, my 7 year old son and I were spoken to in an appalling way. She raised her voice and spoke to us in a dreadful way. She needs to spend a day with Errol and the other amazing staff members and learn how to speak to and treat customers. She should be ashamed of herself!
Poor theme park, grumpy staff and no interest in customer service (there has been none)!
Visited for a day to celebrate our son's 12th birthday in August. The theme park looked tired and dirty, and until midday almost all of the main theme park rides were closed. We spent most of the day chasing rides that temporarily opened then shut down again, with some extremely frosty and grumpy staff throughout the day. We understand safety is paramount, but for so many rides to be broken so often through the day, it gave a good idea as to the state of the park. The theme continued into the zoo, and we left around closing time feeling we simply deflated and that the park just had had enough and didn't care. This continued with two messages sent to Flamingo Land, which both messages were acknowledged, but to date we have had no sort of response or explanation. Again, the place is tired, and it appears they simply do not care now that they have had their money. Avoid, and go to one of the many other theme parks which are so much better.
If anyone has ever owned/is thinking of buying a caravan here…
Owning a caravan here has been the WORST experience.
If anyone has ever owned a caravan here or is thinking about buying one, I'm reaching out to everyone on here who uses flamingolands winter drain downs through their onsite recommended heating and plumbing services, I have used this service provided by flamingoland on many occasions without problem. I asked FL as usual about getting a drain down and they told me to contact their recommended gas & plumber man to winterise. He sent me a message saying all done and to send him £55 to his Halifax account which we did in December 2023. I then suffered some health problems so never got back to van till July 2025 to find my caravan flooded water spraying everywhere, fungi and mushrooms all over the place, the caravan is a total write off.
No water should have been connected if it were correctly winterised but because the water was connected, the insurer I paid through flamingo land won't pay out. The insurance maintains that the caravan was NOT winterised by disconnecting the main water supply so refuse to help. I have contacted FL over the issue and they will not accept liability for their plumbers mistake. They then replied saying that although the plumber is indeed their employer, he carries out the winter drain downs through his own company. So I have contacted the plumber for his insurance details but he will not provide them and has blocked all contact. FL have simply refused to give these details, so we will have to take another route but just be aware Flamingo Land will leave you with nothing!! So be careful when you get work carried out by plumbers recommended by FL as now neither FL nor the plumber are interested in taking any accountability meanwhile my caravan is destroyed
Go to Alton Towers instead
Sent the following email to them and got the response 'we might put some no smoking signs up' honestly a vile place ran by vile people. Hope it gets shut down asap.
Dear Flamingo Land Customer Services,
I’m writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to Flamingo Land, a trip that, judging by the ticket price, should have rivalled the UK’s top-tier attractions. Instead, it felt like paying premium rates to wander around a half-abandoned building site with a few rollercoasters thrown in for nostalgia.
The park was visibly neglected, with litter scattered across walkways and public areas. This not only made the place look scruffy, but also turned it into a wasp haven, ideal if you’re into dodging stingers while trying to enjoy your ice cream. To add to the charm, we encountered multiple uncovered circular holes in the concrete paths with no signage or barriers. I’ve got photos, attached in case you’re compiling a scrapbook titled “Accidents Waiting to Happen.”
There were no visible signs discouraging smoking or vaping in ride queues, which meant that children were forced to stand in clouds of smoke courtesy of parents who apparently missed the memo on basic social etiquette. It’s 2025, surely a no-smoking sign isn’t too much to ask?
Your promotional materials boast 50+ rides, yet the app listed only 26 during our visit. Of those, three were closed all day, including two major thrill coasters that were a key reason for our visit. If you’re going to charge more than Alton Towers, you might want to offer more than half the experience.
There was a serious lack of seating throughout the park. A few scattered, poorly maintained picnic benches don’t quite cut it when guests are walking between attractions and trying to be in the park long enough to get their moneys worth. It felt like a test of endurance rather than a day out, unless the goal was to see how long we could stand before collapsing from standing in queues.
The most upsetting part of the visit was the condition of the animal enclosures. Many looked outdated, cramped, and frankly depressing. My 11-year-old nephew, who was genuinely excited to visit the zoo, said, “this makes me sad,” and I couldn’t have agreed more. The animals looked lethargic and out of place, as if they’d been dropped into a Yorkshire holding pen and forgotten. Honestly, they’d be more comfortable in literally any other country, or even a half-decent wildlife documentary.
The zoo area resembled a construction site, and the overall atmosphere was more “post-apocalyptic petting zoo” than “family-friendly sanctuary.” It’s hard to believe this setup meets modern welfare standards.
In summary,
Flamingo Land feels like a park that peaked years ago and has since been coasting on outdated infrastructure and inflated pricing. The experience was underwhelming, uncomfortable, and at times genuinely upsetting, especially considering the cost. I urge you to review your pricing structure, invest in meaningful improvements, and take a serious look at the welfare of the animals in your care.
I’d appreciate a response addressing these concerns if possible.
