Funky Tours was outstanding. Website provided so much inspiration that we decided to visit Sarajevo for one and a half weeks (instead of just for the weekend). Pre-arrival their bookings team organised an online meeting so we could talk through different options & arrange a schedule.

Sarajevo is full of remarkable history & culture so take Funky Tours Free Walking Tour of the City. There are others you can do including Jewish History Tour & World War 1 Tour if you are interested in this. We also took the Siege of Sarajevo Tour and learnt lots about the terrible event that took place in the 90’s.

Don’t just stay in the City though. Take some tours to other places as well. We paid our respects to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide, learning lots about NATO during the excursion. Hiking with spectacular views around Lukomir. Historically interesting trip to Jacje & Travnik where we visited one of the key assembly halls where Tito founded former Yogoslavia & saw spectacular waterfalls. Also did the transfer day tour to Dubrovnik where we finished our holiday - this transfer tour was outstanding as we learnt so much more and visited some impressive sites including Mostar Bridge, Konjic Historic Town, beautiful springs & the most incredible waterfalls to swim at - Kravica Falls.

All of the guides were outstanding, really friendly & exceptionally knowledgeable. We learnt so much from them & they were all inspirational characters which is evident by the fact that we ended up buying on line several books to further enrich our understanding of the history in the region.

Top Tip: speak with Funky Tours before you book your flights. That way you can work out how long to stay in Sarajevo. Lots of other things we wish we would have had time to do including White Water Rafting , Quad Biking +++

And allow enough time in Sarajevo to visit the many museums, take the cable car for views & hikes, & just generally chill in this incredibly friendly city.

The Funky Tours team provided us with a great experience on several fronts. We took 2 tours with them:
1. The bus tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik was very informative, interesting, and enjoyable with nice stops along the way -the driver was quite pleasant and attentive to our needs.
2. The sailing trip out of Tribunj marina was amazing, awesome, excellent!! Alem and the team were perfect hosts. They made sure our needs were met and exceeded. They personalised the trip as they got to know our style of travelling (it was not a cookie-cutter tourist experience).
The sailing trip is highly recommended. The boat was beautiful and well maintained. It was quite comfortable on-board and we had full access to snacks and drinks at all times. The locations visited and the whole Island boating experience was sublime. Swimming at numerous choice spots was perfect, the food served was great, and the restaurant stops were just wonderful. We are appreciative of the family -business touch and the attentiveness Alem, Danira and team showed us. We would go on this trip again, it was memorable and so worth it.

I'm honest about it, it's probably the best proposition on the market you can find.

We booked a family vacation with a small group on catamaran in June 2024 in Croatia & I loved every second of it.

The tour was great & thought through. Thanks to a careful planning, we were able to avoid crowds when we went on a shore to explore the city or to see a national park. We saw beautiful island small towns, swimmed in clear waters a lot, visited Krka national park (an absolute must see if you're in Croatia, it's a magical place), tasted local oysters & enjoyed local foods. Thanks for that tour we saw in 4 days much more than we could have if we stayed on a shore.

Everything was covered in the price, including marina fees, gas, snorkeling gear, and paddle boards. Breakfasts and lunches were also provided. This all-inclusive aspect gave me the peace of mind I wanted for my vacation, eliminating worries about extra expenses.

But more importantly was our group & our lovely hosts. I couldn't wish for a better company for a several-days trip.

Skender tended to all our requests & questions, shared a lot of interesting stories & cooked absolutely delicious meals.

Our small company of tourists was perfectly matched: nobody smoked, no loud partying, it was perfectly comfortable trip for all of us despite coming from different countries & backgrounds. We spent a couple of lovely evenings chatting, sharing stories & never feeling uncomfortable in another's company.

Staying on the boat was surprisingly comfortable, we had quite a lot of space in our rooms, plus a lot of nooks & hidden compartments to hide your stuff & all rooms come with a bathroom. I shared a room with another lady (since it was 3 of us travelling & I had to share room with someone) and we completely comfortable, having enough space for our stuff & never inconvenienced one another.

Overall, I totally recommend chosing this company, you won't regret it.

We spent 4 unforgettable days sailing through the Šibenik archipelago in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. The organization of the trip was perfect, thanks to the Funky Tours agency.

We live in Chicago, we landed at the Split airport, where we were met by an organized transport that took us to Tribunj. A spacious 14-meter catamaran with a skipper and a hostess was waiting for us there.

During 4 days we visited many locations - Kakan Island, Skradin City, Krka National Park, Šibenik City, Prvić Island, Zlarin Island, Žirje Island, Smokvica Island and the beautiful Kornati National Park.

Every day we enjoyed excellent food - clams, octopus under the oven, fish, Skradin risotto, Skradin cake and much more. We also had excellent meals on the catamaran thanks to our hostess who prepared delicious breakfasts and lunches for us.

We sailed every day and stopped several times to enjoy swimming in beautiful bays.

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience, Funky Tours is the right choice.

I did two tours with funky tours and both of them were amazing. The first tour was the one from Belgrade to Sarajevo. We stopped at so many interesting places and our guide Enis was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was only me and one other person so it was basically a private transfer and totally worth the money since we got to see so many beautiful places in west Bosnia and east Serbia. The other tour I did was the war tour from Sarajevo and I can only recommend to do this tour to understand the sad history of this beautiful country more. Our guide Almir was also very kind and explained the history very well to us. I learned a lot on this tour and it was very interesting. We also visited the bobsleigh of the Olympic Games from 1984 and a viewpoint which was cool. Furthermore, the email contact of funky tours was always very fast, helpful and friendly. :)

I have used Funky Tours twice for tours in the Balkans. Our most recent visit was a customized tour focused on WW1 sites. Funky Tours does excellent preplanned tours but don’t hesitate to contact Ema for customized tours. I provided a list of what we were interested in and Ema was able to design a tour for us. Stefan was our primary tour guide this trip. He provided a warm welcome and made sure all our needs were met. I recommend Funky Tours for all your Balkan needs.

I did two tours with Funky Tours (the Belgrade to Sarajevo transfer and the Mostar & Four Cities with Kravica waterfall tours) in Feb 2024 and enjoyed both of them very much. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and put the comfort and experience of the group first. Nothing felt rushed and it was a great way to see lots of different places within a day. Odyssey in real sense of the way! A pleasent one!

We did 3-day Croatian odyssey in October and what a än experience it was!
From the moment we boarded on a catamaran till the moment we dissembarked it was all senses experience.
And you get your bangs for buck since it was reasonably priced as well!
Only the weather on day 3 was not cooperating, but we are Swedes, bad weather is a constant here:).
A pro tip:
Barbecue is an extra, so my advice is to take it as it is a special feeling being docked to a bouey and grilling some fish at 11PM.

We recently did the Funky Tours Sarajevo Seige tour and our advice is “Do this tour. Make it a priority.”

The organisation and communication for the tour was excellent and it is absolutely worth the ticket fee. You are driven to many different places around Sarajevo and then you get to walk around while listening to the guide.

Almir was our guide. He is not just incredibly knowledgeable about the history and politics but he has a passion for connecting with people and helping them to understand what happened in Sarajevo. He shares personal stories and gives you an insight into his personal philosophy of building peace and understanding. His language skills are exceptional and as you move from site to site he adds different layers so in 4 hours, you hear what happened from different perspectives.

I learnt so much. This tour is a starting point to understand what happened in Sarajevo and helped me to get a feel for the city today. A message that everyone needs to hear. I am a teacher and this was a truly immersive learning experience that I will never forget.

In August my wife and I went on a tailor-made journey across all the countries of Western Balkans. The tour was organized by Ema Konakovic of Funky Tours.

Ema proved to be a brilliant planner. She organized the tour carefully in order to cover every important sight in seven countries. It was so well planned and executed that things went like clockwork. The journey was an incredibly rewarding and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Even the smallest detail on the trip was attended to. Aside from superb hotels (much superior to what I expected), a very comfortable and spacious private air-conditioned vehicle, and excellent guide and drivers, there were walking tours with local guides in every city we visited.

Our main guide Stefan who stayed with us for the entire journey was not only knowledgeable of the countries we traveled, he was exceptionally polite and courteous and narrated numerous anecdotes and humorous stories about the people and culture of the lands we covered. He was greatly entertaining.

Mark and Senad were not only excellent drivers (they drove us from Ljubljana to Tirana through seven countries), they were also exceptionally polite, courteous and helpful. From the moment we met Stefan, Mark and Senad in Slovenia to when we were finally dropped off at the airport in Albania, they treated us like royalty, going way beyond what they were expected to do.

Even the walking tour guides were exceptional. In particular, I remember Andrea in Trogir.

Five stars to Stefan, Mark, Senad, Andrea and all the rest, but above all to Ema who stood behind and made everything happen. Will remember them and the journey for a very long time.

Mes filles et moi avons décidé de choisir le tour du siège de Sarajevo avec Funky Tours Adventure et nous avons été très touchées par la générosité de notre guide, vétéran de ce siège, qui a partagé avec nous son expérience, ses connaissances mais aussi son questionnement et ses réflexions. Nous ne verrons plus Sarajevo et ses habitants de la même façon maintenant que nous avons appris, grâce à ce tour, à mieux "lire" les signes et les lieux du siège encore présents dans la ville.

When I was in Sarajevo, I used Funky Tours on four occasions - all of them productive and fun. The guides who also were the vehicle drivers were as knowledgeable as history professors, considerate of clients and very dedicated to their jobs you would think they are co-owners of the company. I did Free Walking Tour of Sarajevo guided by Stefan, Mostar & Herzegovina Tour by Almir, Utopia of Yugoslavia-Tito´s Bunker-Siege of Sarajevo Tour by Adnan and a transfer tour from Sarajevo to Belgrade by Enis, who - in addition to being an excellent guide - was so gracious to pick me up at tour´s start and brought me to the doorstep of my homestay in Belgrade, giving a call to the landlady and waited until I settled. Nothing else could speak better of the trustworthiness of Funky Tours than
their not canceling this transfer tour, despite the fact that I was the only one who signed up. There were other tours that they offer and I am sure that if I go back to Sarajevo, I will certainly avail again of the excellent and reliable services of Funky Tours.

I had the pleasure of joining Funky Tours' Sutjeska National Park hiking excursion, and I had a fantastic time!

Our tour guide Tarik was very accommodating with us, ensuring that we were all comfortable and enjoying the greatest time possible, which we all did! Plus his contagious sense of humour!

This is for the Sarajevo War Tour - 4 hours around Sarajevo. Mostly its about the guide - tour was good, guide was excellent.

As soon as we got in the minibus (just 5 people) our guide Almir started talking and he told fascinating stories about the war as well as answering my 200+ questions :-) We went into the tunnels and to all the listed sights along the hills, Almir was not in a rush and took as long as it took, did a detour on request and told us personal as well as historical details . He is very well read and can explain all the main characters during the war and how it felt to be there (with personal tragedy). As we walked we discussed everything, from Dostoevsky, Alexander the Great, Bill Clinton, Paddy Ashdown, German Panzers, how to defuse a mine, James Joyce , history of Yugoslavia. I asked him how he could be so enthusiastic every day - he says its not like a job, he enjoys explaining all about Bosnia and hopes we all come back.

Outstanding. We’ve done a dozen or so tours on our European holiday and this was the best. Mustafa is an excellent storyteller who bought the siege of Sarajevo to life in an easy, conversational style. They also went above to reschedule our tour at late notice after a member of our party fell ill.

I had the pleasure of completing the Total Herzegovina tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik. My guide Merima and driver Arif were exceptional. They were both friendly and easy to get on with, which made the day enjoyable and comfortable.Their English was perfect. They both had lots of knowledge and information that they shared with me and were also interested to hear my story. We stopped at Blagaj, Počitelj, Kravice Waterfalls, Konjic and Jablanica. The waterfalls were amazing and there are lots of opportunities for some great photos. I would definitely use Funky Tours again as they have so many interesting tours available. My tour was a full day, 10 hours and I couldnt have spent the day with anyone better than Merima and Arif. Thank you to you both for a wonderful day.
