Preston Branch - Exceptional Service from Sales
I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a vehicle from Group 1 Auto in Preston, and I cannot recommend Joseph highly enough. From the very first interaction to the moment I collected my car, he was exceptional.
Joseph’s knowledge of the vehicles and the buying process was impressive, making everything seamless and stress-free, even more so considering I had travelled up from London to collect the vehicle. He took the time to understand my needs, answered all my questions with patience, and provided honest, insightful advice. Throughout the process, he was personable, professional, and genuinely a decent bloke – an exceptionally rare quality in sales!
His commitment to great customer service was evident at every stage, ensuring that everything was clear and straightforward. Even when faced with complex objections relating to TCO and different 3rd party finance products, he was as cool as a cucumber and pulled in Management (Ebrahim) to assist & illustrate why their product, service & package was superior. The process was as luxurious and as exceptional as it should be - and is a country mile ahead of other Group 1 branch experiences closer to London!
Regardless of the brand or vehicle, it’s refreshing to deal with people who truly care about their customers and their experience.
If you’re looking to buy a car, I highly recommend asking for Joseph (Sales) & Ebrahim (Management) at Group 1 Auto in Preston. You won’t be disappointed!
I certainly know where I’ll be doing my next upgrade!
Sold a car which is not "as described"…
Sold a car which is not "as described" Promised to pay local Ford dealer to do a health check. After the health check was completed, Group1 refused to pay the other Ford garage, so I did, Promised to pay me back...still waiting. And no contact since many emails to sales manager and GM. Buyer beware of ANYTHING any member of the sales team tell you. I even have it all in writing. Looks like County Court action if I do not hear anything back in the next 7 days. I will make sure they are aware of this negative review also, and intend to update if I get anywhere
UPDATE 22/2. I have now been advised the £45 will be refunded asap. However, I am aware it will take a few days to show up in my account. Also been advised that all managers will be looking into my complaint on Monday.....watch this space !

Basically now been told "tough" You have driven the car 3000 miles, not our problem !!! Tes, I have emails to prove, off to Ombudsman now. NEVER again, Buyer beware !!!!
Reservation refund within three days. Wow!
I showed my interest in a car at the Wirral VW Dealership and placed a £199.00 reservation on the vehicle. This transaction showed up on my online balance on the 16th February 2025. I did NOT proceed with the purchase of the car, and got a FULL refund email 18th Feb 2025.
Fraudsters!!!
This people are fraudsters, I regret ever having to do business with them. We were sold a defective car, they told us to take it to our nearest JLR to get it fixed and now they are trying to backout of paying for the repays as agreed. We are in the process of reporting them to the ombudsman and getting our lawyers involved.
Very Poor Customer Service
Booked a test drive approx 3 weeks ago at Southend with mr parvez miah at the dealership. Turned up today to find mr parvez miah was not in. apparently his mom was ill lol, and they had no record of my pre booked test drive so didnt bother to let me know, eventually seen by pavel, who sapent 40 minutes sorting the test drive. Pavel then gave me an insurance form to sign which made me liable for any damage to the car of up to £500 before I was allowed to take the pre booked test drive (no mention of this when I booked the test drive with the absent mr parvez miah!!). Absolute worst experience - and they expect me to spend my hard earned on their cars - o dear!!!

June 2024 FINAL Customer Service Review
This will be my final review of Group1 Skoda Maidstone unfortunately after using this dealership for close to 10 years and 3 different Skoda Superbs serviced there. After a standard service back in March 2024 it was highlighted that there was some small oil leaks from the engine that needed to be addressed. So having a full warranty in place I was told they would get the paperwork all submitted for the works to take place. And that's when all the issues came to pass. After not hearing back from Customer Services for over a week I got in touch with them. I was told they were waiting on Skoda to approve the works and would be in touch as soon as approval was given. So every week, I would either email or call in for an update and be told the same thing, or the phone would ring continuously and no-one would pick up at all! Roughly 5-6 weeks later I was told it had all been approved and was booked in for a loan car whilst the works had been carried out by a Customer Service person called Emma who had been dealing with it all. So after 6-7 weeks I was finally back to drop off the car and pick up my loan vehicle. Upon arrival none of the usual staff were there and instead someone else dealt with me. They basically told me the entire Customer Service department had left and Emma's last day was the previous Friday and they were there to pick the pieces. They then checked to see whether my vehicle had been booked in and low and behold it had not. On top of that the claim had never even been submitted to Skoda and I was basically flat out lied to by Emma via email. And then i was purposely made to waste my time bringing my car in from London. The gentleman apologised profusely and told me a new Customer Service Manager Ben will be starting on Monday and they will look to immediately rectify the situation. That individual who had dealt with me then got back in touch on Monday to confirm he has passed on the details to management and they will be in touch. Now, i was pretty upset by the situation but gave him the benefit of the doubt because I know problems happen and had a history with the dealership. Hoping things would get better from here on in. I'm sad to say they did not and after two weeks I'd still not heard nothing from the Customer Service Manager despite calling him a few times. When i did finally speak to him no real apologies were made but he promised to accelerate the claim and be in touch within a day. Suffice to say it's been two weeks now and not a call, or email from Ben. So it's clear they have no intention of repairing a relationship or dealing with the issue. To add insult to injury I was called this week from the dealership to book my car in for an MOT to which of course I declined. Also, if you try to STOP all communication with the dealership as per GDPR this does not work also and i still get hassled for servicing. For all reasons i cannot recommend them to anyone. Years ago when it was Beadles Skoda it was a much different organisation and dealership, those days are truly gone.

Group 1 Jaguar & Land Rover Guildford Aftersales Centre. WOW! Having spent so much time listening to their automated message, whilst waiting to get through to an operative, I am very surprised to hear that they boast of a 5 start rating on Trust Pilot. Shame on you, but I am not surprised at the consistent lack of professionalism in relation to your customer service. If you want to leave an actual review on their website, then good luck as the link isn't even live to read any reviews. I wonder why! Anyway, untrained staff and a manager who sits in his glass box under an air of arrogance is hopefully all if need to say in the hope that you will pick a different garage to have your car looked at.
Manager does not care and there is 0 Customer Service
Do not buy a car from Group 1 assured Ipswich. Sales team, namely Liam is completely unprofessional and has no customer service at all. Manager, Nigel could not care less when you have a problem with the car after purchasing. Thing is, when your purchasing the car everyone is great, but God forbid if they fail to notice a problem with it under there Visual Health check prior to sale, your then an enemy! Stay Clear from this place, this has caused me unprecedented levels of stress!
Excellent Customer Service
I recently ordered a Jaguar mug as a gift which unfortunately arrived damaged. I spoke to Jamie Pay, who immedaitely got another one sent out at no additional cost and with additional wrapping to protect against damage in transit. Great service.
Rubbish really
Rubbish really. Arrived at group 1 VW in Bury for a 10.00 booking for faulty engine light. Customer parking pretty much none existent save for a tiny space next to a wall. Tried to squeeze my Tiguan in and managed it but my wing mirror hit the T-Cross wing mirror in the space next to mine. The coloured cap of the T-cross flipped off and broke on the floor. This was seen by a member of staff and I was charged £150. Now onto my 10.00 booking. … was told they don’t know when they can look at it and need my car all day. Had a hosp appt so just left. So poor customer parking, bays way too small, poor customer service all around. The place is a jinx…. What a waste of my time !
Plenty more fish in the sea, avoid the floaters
In December I placed a deposit on an approved used F Type at the Derby franchise. As they had just bought the Inchcape Jaguar dealership, my finance provider required additional info from Group1 as invoice and account details didn’t match, for more than my purchase and beyond the Derby franchise. The sales manager dealing with my purchase went on extended and unannounced leave and no one else picked up the sale, so issues that could have been dealt with at least 2 weeks before month end were delayed by that dealership’s lack of diligence. I received an offensive call from the sales director on 31 Jan. He cancelled the deal whilst the funds were in transit, purely because the sale wouldn’t happen in January. I discovered the cancellation when part of the deposit was repaid.

Incompetent & underhand
Incompetent & underhand. They have cars on their website for sale but they may already be sold. Their website is not updated as vehicles are reserved across the different dealerships. I paid online to reserve a car only to find it had been sold elsewhere. Sales assistant couldn’t have cared less, just told me he could find an alternative. Struggling to get them to recognize credit card payment that was made. They totally ignored the fact that I have an email confirming my payment and reservation. I so wish I’d researched them on TrustPilot before choosing them. Fingers burnt, don’t make the same mistake as me.

Total incompetence…
Yet another disastrous visit to these incompetent idiots. Specifically booked a loan vehicle while in for a service at their VW Van Centre in Chelmsford and on arrival, after an hour long journey to get there, it seems the booking was taken incorrectly as no vehicles available so a complete waste of my time. Absolutely the worst and most shambolic company within the Group 1 entirety.

Extremely poor customer services and arrogance from senior managers,
They make mistakes but don’t own them, pass the blame and financial responsibility on to others.
Be very careful when you use them and in a manager called Jack answers put the phone down
Wrong first time, all the time, every time
Latest attempt to use Group One for a repair failed again keeping their 100 percent failure record intact. Honestly never known any organisation to mess up so reliably, so consistently and without any sign of taking any responsibility.

Needing to call an advisor to get an update on a complaint about my I-Pace which has failed to start 5 times since June 3rd when we bought it.
Yesterday, 2hr 25 mins on hold, then got announcement that you had closed.
Today so far been on hold for 1hr 32 mins and second in queue.
Emails to your complaints address are being rejected.

Had a firm valuation and appointment for my car and when I arrived at the dealership in Lower Dicker, Hailsham, East Sussex, no one was aware of the appointment or valuation. Complete waste of my time. Their on-line valuation service, clearly isn’t linked to their dealerships.
Would not recommend Skoda…
Would not recommend Skoda Southend-On-Sea. Reported a serious issue with my cupra formentor. On many occasions the car would Suddenly slam the breaks on. Even though not near any other vehicles. Reporting the problem to Skoda Southend they informed me the has been a previous problem. Took the car in for service and for this to be looked into. They said they can’t find a fault and it was due to my driving. They gave my car back dirty with warning lights and said they can not help really not happy with the outcome and Will be taking this matter further
