I didn’t have an evening appointment, it was in the morning and I did not receive champagne & chocolates or have an expensive test! The tone of your response is exactly as I expected though… perfectly arrogant.
Well done you, you have managed to rip people off for 30 years. Lucky for you, there are plenty of wealthy folk around that do not query your made up charges such as a facilities fee (contribution to non staff costs)?? Extensive treatment when I was in there around 15 minutes and you only looked at my foot, treatment was booked in for another day and was a separate charge (£2k) Assessment fee multiplier?? All ridiculous made up fees in my opinion and also others opinion by the looks of your reviews.

Jonathan may have lots of 5* reviews on here from his begging email he sent out to his address book today but I have to say, your begging email actually prompted me to speak out about my awful experience instead. You mentioned in your begging email that you were reported. I too almost reported you but decided karma would deal with you and here we are!

I was also given a ridiculous invoice with charges that seemed to be completely made up. £280 for an appointment that took less than 15minutes. How is that fair pricing?! You wanted a further £2k for treatment. I went elsewhere and had excellent service & treatment for a quarter of the price.

You are an arrogant man. Your responses to reviews show what kind of person you are.

If you can’t run your business without ripping people off in your own community, you should not run at all.

No doubt you will have an angry, arrogant reply to this because you only agree with positive reviews.

I am astonished to read some of the comments here. I had a consultation with this podiatrist in Sept 2024. ALL costs were explained to me ahead of the appointment. It is not cheap, but good care and excellent service rarely is. It is important to remember that you are not going to see a chiropodist, this is a podiatry consultation which is always more expensive. I went to see them with issues which were really troubling me. Their treatment was so thorough that I have not needed to return. The health checks they perform prior to the treatment helped me to pick up on the fact that I had an abnormal heart rhythm. I looked upon this little office as a hidden treasure and felt indebted to the colleague who recommended them.

I used this practise a few years ago to sort out my plantar fasciitis, I was given some exercises and insoles which resolved the issue. I recently attended for a different problem and had excellent diagnosis and treatment. Would definitely recommend.

Jonathan was amazing with my very nervous daughter who came in with 2 very sore ingrown toenails. He was able to operate right there and then. He talked to my daughter through the whole process and kept her calm. Yes the treatment was expensive but I was given a fully written quote and there was no pushy sales techniques, he even said I could go away and think about it. I was unable to afford the full fee upfront and they were very accommodating in supporting me with split payments. I was very grateful, whole team are lovely.

Visited in July 2024 for an assessment in order to determine the best course of action - I was well informed of the risks, benefits and actions that could be taken in order to solve the issue (after the GP had tried and failed multiple times previously).

After seeing Jonathon, and several weeks of aftercare, I’m pain free for the first time in years! I cannot recommend more for their professionalism, care, price and knowledge.

It was my first experience with private health care and I was told the cost and what would be done, the bill arrived in the amount expected and would 100% use this practice again.

I came to Health First Podiatry to get a second opinion after several months of NHS physio treatment.
Jonathon gave me a very thorough examination. He agreed with the basics of the NHS exercises and suggested laser treatment could also be of benefit to me. I decided not to go ahead with the laser treatment.
I knew in advance what my private consultation with Health First would cost. It was a significant sum which I was prepared to pay to reassure myself that my ongoing NHS treatment was appropriate.

I have been a patient with Health First for some years now and have always received first class professional care and treatment from experts in their field. I would have no hesitation in recommending Health First for all things involving foot care and treatment.

A random visit to treat a corn turned into a life saving encounter.
During the thorough examination of my feet by Johnathan he discovered some unusual pigmentation that he has concerned about, this turned out to be the early stages of skin cancer.
Six months later following 2 operations this has now been removed.
Johnathan's diligence and expertise probably saved my life.
Get your feet checked at least once a year. You cannot put a price on your life!

I had a very positive outcome after suffering for more than 8 months I can at last go for walks and continue with everyday duties. At all times my treatment outcomes were discussed. Even if at times it may not be as positive as I would have liked at the time because Rome wasn’t built in a day and it takes time and commitment from both parties for a positive outcome and mine was positive

I took my mum to see these people a couple of months ago after she had been having problems . Her existing podiatrist had failed to make any progress. Three sessions with Jonathan and she is fixed. What a result, thanks

I first went to Jonathan with chronic foot pain that inhibited my walking, having been told by another foot care practitioner that there was nothing that could be done. Turns out they were wrong! Jonathan gave a diagnosis that made sense and provided the means to manage the issue, making all the difference. Over the years since then, Jonathan has provided excellent foot care in terms of maintaining healthy feet and nails and dealing with problems as they arise, including carrying out a few minor surgical procedures. He always gives an explanation for the treatment he advises, discussing potential options. And I know a lot more about feet now than I did before!

I have been using Health First for custom orthotics for 20 years. Jonathan and his team have provided a first class service and have made a huge difference to my mobility, preventing knee and ankle joint damage and allowing we to keep active, enjoying walking and hiking. I saw several other practices before finding Health First and consider the level of service to be excellent. The level of service and results have been so good that I am still using Health First since moving to Cornwall.

First appointment was very thorough and covered a wide range of potential issues. I have diabetes so looking after my feet is very important to me. My issue was addressed and I was given advice on how to better mange it. Will be visiting again to keep my feet healthily.

Love this place and I won't take my feet any where else. They were so helpful, understanding and reassuring and the solution that they provided for me works 100%. My feet feel awesome and my back is better too.

I have been going to see Jonathan Small since April 2024, initially I was struggling walking, with pain in both soles, as a Type 2 diabetic care of my feet is very important. My nurse has often commented on dry skin and how I should moisturize my feet regularly. On my first visit to Jonathan he carried out the most in-depth examination of my feet, including x rays and before and after photos, he diagnosed the dry skin as a fungal infection similar to the toe nail damage I had and he removed corns from both soles. Immediately I started to walk better and over the months the treatment has continued, my nail is growing back , my fungal infection has cleared up and on my last visit to the diabetic nurse she was so impressed with the state of my feet. Don't get me wrong it is not a cheap fix service, but you pay for what you get, after struggling walking for a couple of years now I find the pain has gone completely and will continue to see Jonathan, in fact my next appointment is this week. You pay for what you get and individually you decide what works for you. I am writing this review as it is so easy to criticize a business on-line in this day and age and not enough people tell businesses when they are doing something well.

I have had excellent service from this firm of experienced professionals, both podiatry and in the past physio. I am a current patient.

I visited the clinic originally a few years ago prior to Covid because I was in a lot of pain both from corns and joints, after seeing Jonathan and him diagnosing what was causing the problems I have been comfortable walking. I was given sound advice which I am very thankful for, and consider the cost involved well worth the money. I more recently see Mike for general foot care.
