Still waiting for a single job opportunity to come my way nearly two years after passing my C+E

I have a strong suspicion that I have been blacklisted and ghosted, luckily I’ve found employment independent of HGVT/Manpower but one has to ask…have you ever found anyone full time non-agency employment?

They offered my Class 2 agency work but I was already employed full time driving class 2 vehicles before getting involved with HGVT, why would I leave full time work for agency work?

I would encourage prospective clients of HGVT to pay particular attention to the negative reviews of this rickety outfit, as they give an accurate portrayal of what they do or in my case….what they don’t do!

Was a very smooth process. And any questions I had, were answered.. really happy with the instructors they were Patient and great teachers.

I could not recommend this company any less. My practical training was supposed to be over eight days, for going from just a car licence, to full HGV 1 C&E. 8 days is the average from training companies, particularly those training you directly. These folks don't do that, they just book you in with the actual training providers.

They then changed it to four days of training for the full lot, from car licence to HGV 1 C&E, in just four days, and pressured me into accepting this. At the time, not knowing any better, I accepted this change.

While undertaking the training, my instructor said if he had been a new driver, he would have struggled to train, assimilate, and pass all the tests in just four days. At their recommendation, I focused only on getting the HGV class 2, which I passed.

HGVT said well done, here's a link to manpower, good luck. I said no, I have paid for training up to HGV 1 C&E, and I now know that you provided me with less than optimal practical training for this.

They dragged their feet, I kicked up a fuss, and they begrudgingly put me onto this "boot camp" scheme to get the rest of the training. But, in the days leading up to the test, I came down with flu and was too ill to take it. I called them, they said they would get back to me, ignored me for nearly a month, and then I received a do-not-reply email saying I had been withdrawn, for non attendance.

They basically said, to put it politely, lenta cacas and have since tried to wash their hands of me. I initially put a review on here giving a frank review of my experience - they then offered to put me back on the training if I paid an additional £825 for further training.

I said no, had you given me sufficient practical training in the first instance, we wouldn't be where we are, and made a counter offer. Give me the training I've paid for, and for want of just getting it all done and dusted, I'd even take down the negative review and leave a good one. Their brazen response? That I was trying to blackmail them into giving me "free training." They also said because I accepted their "bootcamp" offer, that they were thereby exempt from any further obligations - but had I not accepted this offer, it would have amounted to the same thing anyway. Lenta cacas, your problem, go away.

I have made a second, more concise review here as I was so angry while writing the first one, editing and updating it as they contacted me over it, that the review became one big mess!

Trust me when I say, you can get much better quality training, for less than you'll pay these swindlers who over promise on everything. Anyone with an internet connection can set up with Manpower, and they told me at the outset they would get me hooked up with work once I was qualified, but no. Soon as I got my HGV 2 licence it was well done, good luck, and off you trot.

I can prove everything I've said here - by all means, if you see me on any social media platforms feel free to PM me and I will gladly do so, particularly if like me, you are a veteran. I have kept all correspondence, and can demonstrate the lack thereof on their part after I was to ill for their "boot camp" training.

Edit: Reply below is full of HGVT lies and excuses - they claim to have replied to my emails sent after I was to ill to attend yet, there is no replies to go with the 3-4 emails I sent over the course of that month…

Trust me folks, go straight to a school who actually provides the training themselves. You’ll save a bundle, and get rid of the middleman and, the grifters like HGVT.

This will be my final EDIT here - when I take this to all the pages and groups I’m on, I’ll be sharing screenshots of the correspondence - the first will be the original practical training dates I was supposed to be on which was the 25th of September until the 4th of October last year. HGVT reduced that to the 29/09/23, and as I was the only learner behind the wheel all day with very little time to assimilate. Shout out to HGVT, you sent the text message confirming my original booking of the 25/09/23 - 04/10/23 on Friday the 11th of august at 1243. Instead, you lot cut this down to starting on the 25/09/23 and expected me to training and pass for HGV 2, and then do the required training and pass HGV 1 C&E, all by the 29/09/23.

This is the crux of my case against you - had I been given the reasonable practical training that I was booked on from the 25/09/23 - 04/10/23, we wouldn’t be where we are today. You failed to provide optimal practical training for what I paid for. You reluctantly gave me the follow up training “Boot Camp” as if you were doing me a favour, and then cut me off when I was too ill to attend. This will be shared widely and pursued legally.

The best part of you all is your excellence in customer service. What a great response whenever I had Difficulty in any thing related to the course. Most of the companies don't give you what they say but for HGVT them have gone well beyond to their best . Thanks for every team member especially Patricia Biarent,Alizée Moreau and Toby from Robinsons. All hats off for the hard work. Thanks again

I've recently passed the Cat- C+E through Driver academy and I can say this is one of the best. Whenever I had any issues they solved it. Now I am waiting for an job interview which they will help me with. If you want to have a qualification in similar category I'd advise you to go through them

Helped sort everything out for and are very patient as I'm not the quickest at learning things. My instructor Danny was also brilliant in both part of my tests.

Passed my C1 today! Great communication between the group and amazing people. The lessons and tests were structured which made my experience very pleasant! I would definitely recommend!

Having had absolutely no idea about obtaining my hgv licence I have to say this company made it an absolute doddle from start to finish they kept me informed. They basically did everything for me from start to finish including supplying me an app for practice. They booked all my tests and practical training and offered me different available dates that were convenient. So this morning I passed my hgv class 1 test with only 1 minor . Thanks hgvt a great company and thanks to Kamile for the stress free journey.

Passed Cat C HGV today! Great bunch of people. Always responding to queries in a good time. Booked in for a retest very quickly, and accommodating to work commitments when I needed to change dates. All in all, definitely a good company to use!

Would've given 5 star, but I would've liked a bit more quicker responses when I asked for information from them. I like the fact that they provided online training when it was practical, which helped immensely because of work commitments. When I did get to speak to someone they were pleasant and nice. All in all, it was good.

Fantastic, all the materials are there for you to learn, from practising for your theory to the practical, the support I received was brilliant ViaMaster was especially helpful especially Tom, top teacher/trainer. Couldn't of asked for a better team to learn from.

Passed my class 2 today ! Hip Hip Hooray. I would first like to thank you for a very thought out and efficient programme. From the very first email, everything was so smooth, professional and quick. With easy to understand instructions and always checking up to walk me through the process. Would also like to thank my instructor Toby that was so patient, professional and a very great tutor and also like to thank my instructor Paul that escorted me to the test centre. Thankyou to all the staff in the office that were always positive and had a great can do attitude. Thankyou.

Recently did my HGV class 2 training. The help I got was great fast response and clear information. The learning material and apps are both easy to use. Thanks to these I passed all my theory first time. Can't praise highly enough.

Had 5 days intensive training passed on my first attempt with 8 minors

The Team from HGVT were fabulous from start to finish. They were always at the end of the phone or email if I had any questions. They successfully guided me through everything that was required. I found their online training course extremely useful, which prepares you for your LGV CPC case study test. I would not have passed this otherwise.

I passed my intensive driving test through Hamilton HGV Training in Ipswich. This team were also extremely friendly and professional, so I would also like to recommend their services too.

Good luck with your HGV journey. It is the most challenging and exciting thing I have ever done, so I'm sure you enjoy the experience too.
