Had a nice meal at HICKORYS Peterborough. To make sure we got a table we booked.( Did not just turn up). Staff pleasent. Good value for money. Only down side it was a little to dark for my liking but that's just me .

Visited a Hickory Smokehouse today for lunch. Staff super friendly, restaurant very clean. Food was mediocre, had the chain, bulk preparation feel for certain items, chips, sauces chicken etc.

I ordered a house salad and a pulled pork bap. Salad was awful. Some of the leaves appeared rotten. It was just a few leaves of lettuce, rocket with some black beans and sweetcorn for £4.95 it was very poor. The meat in the pork bap was nice but the whole thing was spoiled by a really strong vinegary mustard sauce and ended up a soggy mess.

My wife ordered the BBQ platter which was ok. The (discretionary) tip was already on the bill when it arrived.

Would I go again or recommend to others, I doubt it. I had expectations and they weren't met unfortunately...

Visited the Northampton Hickory’s for a 50th birthday celebration, which should have been a wonderful surprise. Instead, it turned into an experience of simply trying to get through the evening because of the unbearable heat.

The restaurant doesn’t have air conditioning. It wasn’t broken—they simply don’t have any. Sitting in a restaurant at 32°C with hot food in front of you is uncomfortable enough, but it’s even worse if you’re seated in front of the chefs cooking on the hot plate.

The staff were genuinely fantastic and did everything they could, but they were fighting a losing battle. It’s hard to understand why head office couldn’t at least provide some large industrial fans to improve the airflow and make the environment more bearable for both customers and staff.

Speaking of head office, they responded quickly to my email complaint and asked me to provide my phone number so they could call to discuss it. Unsurprisingly, it’s now been over a week and I’ve heard nothing.

If you enjoy eating your dinner in what feels like a sauna, this is the place to go. Otherwise, I’d recommend giving it a miss during warm weather.

Firstly, I am predominantly OMAD, (one meal a day). I ate on Monday night no issues, I ate on Tuesday night no issues, I ate on Wednesday night no issues, I ate at Hickory's on Thursday night, and by 4am Friday, I was awake, sitting upright, not feeling well. Something wasn't right. There was no other food in me by Friday AM, other than the 'Go Big or Go Home' burger and a few fries.
Friday was my wife's birthday, and in the evening I could barely touch food, had one slice of cake instead of multiple. Just that in itself told our birthday visitors I was not well. By Saturday PM diarrhoea started. By Saturday night I was in bed under the duvet with a temperature of over 102. By midnight on Saturday night, the vomiting also started. Properly D&V at the same time. I swear I have never been so ill or felt so bad in years, or ever, for that matter. By Sunday mid morning the vomiting had stopped, but the abdominal pain was so bad. Diarrhoea continued with a vengeance.
I had already done my research on Salmonella and it narrowed it down to a tee. Could I get up on the Monday and go to the doctor or A&E, absolutely not. The best and safest option was a call with a 111 agent. I stayed in bed until Thursday. Five days in bed, in and out of the bathroom, what must have been between 50 to 80 times. It's now Monday, 10 days after the meal, and I am only today capable of putting hands to keyboard to share this experience.
So, sorry Hickory's. I know you will claim innocence, and you are perfectly placed to do so. Afterall, how can anyone prove that your Great Glen Leicester restaurant has a hygiene or cross contamination issue. For all we know, I could have swallowed a fly whilst driving home.
So let's just park this here. The general public can be the jury.

The drinks take far too long to arrive. This has happened more than a few times. Today's arrived 5 minutes after the meal was placed. The waitress was very young and inexperienced but she did her best considering the wait. There were only a few customers there at the time. Sadly there is no air conditioner which would have made it a much more enjoyable experience in this heat.

I recently went to Hickory’s in York and left disappointed. 4 of us ate on a busy Friday night. The food came pretty quick to be fair to the kitchen but for an authentic smokehouse the food wasn’t very smoky. I’ve smoked meats before in a bar I co-owned with my brother so I have lots of experience when it comes to smoked meats. We ordered the very expensive sharing platter at a price of £72. The pulled pork was nice and smoky but the chicken leg was dry and had no smoky flavour, the beef ribs were small and not smoky, the brisket had no smoke ring on it, the pork ribs had no smoke on them. The only decent meat on the platter was the sausage. After looking forward to going there for months we all left very disappointed.

Hickory’s smokehouse Gloucester is one of our favourite restaurants to go to. Great for keeping children occupied with the cinema and outside play area. Nothing is too much for the staff especially Jess and Perry, who go above and beyond. Definitely worth a visit.

Won’t be going to or using Hickory’s ever again! I simply don’t agree with your £5 per person deposit terms, fair enough if somebody has to cancel last minute or within 24hrs then keeping the deposit is justified but 72hrs is utterly ridiculous!!!!
It’s a shame as we were loyal customers but after needing to cancel our booking and keeping our deposit is nothing but a scam!

Hickory's Worcester was Great. Went for our wedding anniversary. Never been before. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was absolutely gorgeous and because it was our anniversary we had a cocktail experience which was fab + celebration cake.

Overall very happy with this restuarant. Just wish they served some real ales but hey ho. Otherwise very good.

We went for my 80th birthday. The food was lovely the drinks menu was very poor not much choice and very dissatisfied will not be going there again

Went to the wall heath restaurant food was decent service ok but nothing to shout about the price was absolutely disgusting, was to a birthday meal a few weeks ago 9 of us with food and drinks it cost £279 tonight 4 £258 absolutely outrageous and slapped with a £19 service charge, make the most of it because you won’t get it again heard a few walking out moaning about the price, at least d@ck Turpin wore a mask.

Today myself and my familybwent for a meal, food fantastic, service amazing, atmosphere was great wrecked only by a family who caused havoc and made a absolute mess ( no respect) and walked off after being abusive and intimidating to staff not oaying for there £300 meal, the staff at hickorys were cool calm collective got on with job cleaning a terrible mess and making sure familys who were there to have a good time were all ok and catered for 1 staff member was fantastic especially didnt get her name but the lady who delt with the familys son getting water all over my wifes leg just pooring it on floor, brilliant staff, ive been this restraunt alot and this is a one off everytime they are brilkiant highly recommend. Having been once before I knew what to expect food wise. Although this time the menu had changed and to be honest there wasnt that much for me personally to choose from . I opted for a chicken burger which was really nice except for the 'Plastic' McDonald's type cheese slice ! which was a let down . For the price you pay i would have liked real cheese .
Cocktails were nice . Food came in reasonable time despite being busy and the staff were friendly.

Went to hickory's Nottingham not a very good experience had to case up staff to serve us the food was not the best will not be going back there wouldn't recommend it was with a big group i left before them I was told it took ages to get the bill poor customer service.

Went to Hickory's in Derby last night for my Grandsons birthday. Got dressed up for the special occasion, big mistake. The food was good and everyone enjoyed the party. We walked outside after the meal and we STUNK. Our clothes just reeked of fatty greasy food it was disgusting. We had to strip when we got home and put everything in the wash and I mean everything. Our coats can't be worn until they have been cleaned. I even had to spray my shoes with Febreeze before I could wear them this morning for work. Definitely wont be going there again.

Swindon - We came on the 8th April at 8pm as a family for my daughter’s 8th birthday and we were blown away by the kindness shown by the staff from the minute we walked in through the door. Firstly we were shown the outside park which was lovely. After being seated we were advised that due to Mikayla having her golden birthday celebration both children could go behind the bar and create their own milkshakes. Wow, the children were so excited and so were us parents as our children had never experienced with before. Not only did they love it but they tasted delicious and you surprised us again by telling us they were on the house! Wow! We then ordered our food and drinks with Jack who was so polite and friendly and enjoyed a really yummy dinner and the children were enjoying a movie and popcorn while they waited for their meals. They enjoyed their meals and were full and we were again blown away by the team singing happy birthday to Mikayla and surprising her with a donut cake and candle! She loved it and we did too! Thank you so so so so much for making her day and for going above and beyond to make our experience magical and yummy! Could not have asked for more. Thank you again and we can’t wait to return. Happy for this to be shared. Many thanks.

AVOID HICKORY’S STEAKHOUSE YORK AT ALL COSTS‼️

My family and 6 friends (10 in total) ate here on Sunday 19th of April for my friends birthday and wow do we regret it!! All of us got food poisoning (including my 2 small children). We paid just shy of £300 for our bill to all be wasted/ thrown up and infected! I gave Hickory’s the opportunity to rectify by requesting a refund but they refused to do this (said this was their policy, fair enough) but I will tell anyone and everyone now to avoid like the plague don’t waste your money at all and risk getting food poisoning!

💥side note- one of my friends is a vegetarian and didn’t eat any meat but still got food poisoning and exactly same symptoms so we believe it’s got to be down to food hygiene/ cross contamination!! Hickory's Smokehouse be very disappointed in yourselves!!

Visited Hickory’s Northampton on Saturday 25/4/26. From start to finish the staff were excellent, ordered a selection of dishes between the four of us and everything was amazing. The beef rib, the steak and the 2 combination plates were all absolutely fabulous. We had some cocktails with our meal and they were a show stopper as well, overall a fantastic evening. Thanks to all the staff and especially Lyndsey who made it special.

We went to this restaurant primarily to get the recipe for a really delicious cocktail. Our bartender was a really friendly nice guy and took the time to explain how this particular cocktail was made and the ingredients that were needed. We then decided to do some bar snacks. This is our second trip there and we had a really great experience with the food on our first trip. however, this time round not so great. We ordered a couple of portions of the chicken wings one with the bourbon sauce one with the Louisiana hot sauce and my daughter decided to try the corn dogs. We also had a side of French fries. unfortunately the wings were not fresh, but I had clearly been held and were put into a deep fryer to finish and then smothered in the respective sources. The blue cheese dip was a watery tasteless concoction and very disappointing. The corn dogs were, although it said two clearly one cut in half and put on two skewers. The French fries were in a very small container and clearly just been deep fried from the deep freezer and were kind of hollow in the middle. The food was overpriced and disappointing. I wish we had a bartender’s name because I would definitely mention him. He was a very friendly guy couldn’t do enough for us and certainly made up for the poor performance from the kitchen.
