What an excellent customer service team at Julian Bowen - clearly staffed by people who actually listen to the customer and respond appropriately. I ordered the Davenport dining table and, separately, two sets of dining chairs. Assembly of the table and the first set of chairs completed successfully, I opened the second box of chairs and unusually a part was missing. These things happen but when I contacted the retailer I was informed an exchange would have to be arranged as individual parts could not be sent. So wasteful (and a waste of my time having to arrange to be available when the courier came to collect). Instead I emailed Julian Bowen directly last night and was delighted to see a response from Leanne in Customer Services in my Inbox this morning. The missing part is now on its way to me with an apology for the omission. Such a sensible approach - if only all companies operated this way. I have just moved into a new property and purchased a number of items of furniture so can compare this service with that of other companies, and as a result will preference Julian Bowen for any further items I need. Thank you Leanne - and by the way the furniture looks beautiful!

All in less than 24 hours. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

The nest of tables arrived safely and in good condition. Also the delivery was very quickly despatched. The tables are lovely quality and they were very easy to assemble. I consider them to be great value for money. A lovely company to do business with.

Just wanted to post this to express my wonderful experience with Leanne M. from the Julian Bowen Aftersales team. Not only was my query handled efficiently and effectively, but Leanne has been completely forthcoming and communicative throughout the process. Her telephone manner is wonderfully refreshing, pleasant and friendly and her willingness to help clearly shone through; she is a truly incredible advert for your business.

Ordered a wardrobe via next. 1st wardrobe peices didn't fit, no labeling on parts so took ages to put together. Sent this back which was a pain as had to dismantle.
2nd wardrobe arrived.... this was without a doubt a second hand wardrobe. Holes already drilled lack of screws. The back of the wardrobe already had holes where the tacks had been.
So next kindly discounted 40% which still took the price of a " second hand " wardrobe to £315!
It was such a pain to try and send back AGAIN. I mean how hard is it to have a new wardrobe and expect good quality.
Emailed julian bowen only to be told next have given me a discount!!
DO NOT BUY ANY FURNITURE FROM THIS COMPANY. its cheaply made, they reuse parts that have been returned despite them denying this. I have pictures to prove this.
The doors don't even shut properly,
Cheap, cheap, cheap.
Buyers beware what you order.

We are a Lettings agency in London and We have been working with Julian Bowen for contract furniture across a number of our clients’ properties, and the experience so far has been excellent.
A particular mention goes to Victoria, our Contracts Manager, whose personal service has really stood out. She has been personable, responsive, and genuinely helpful, taking the time to understand our requirements, timelines, and client expectations. Communication has been clear and proactive throughout.
The quality of the furniture has also been very good — practical, well-designed, and well-suited for rental and investment properties. On the strength of our experience to date, we expect this to be the start of a long-term working relationship with repeat business ahead.
Overall, Julian Bowen have proven to be a reliable furniture supplier with a strong product range and a personal touch. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable contract furniture backed by excellent service.

Whilst it's a very small item, it was vital in allowing me to re-assemble and re-use the bed.
Their Customer Service was excellent. If only other companies were like this.

I had an issue with a nest of tables I purchased.The assemble parts just wouldn’t fit correctly on the smallest table of three.
I therefore got in contact with Julian Bowen,and spoke and emailed Leanne at after sales.
I explained the issues with Leanne and she was very keen to correct and put right the small table issues.
Leanne then sent me out a complete small table replacement.
Really good after sales customer service from Leanne.

Oh dear. If I could give zero stars I would. We bought 2 large chest of drawers from the Marlborough range. We are both elderly and disabled so fully assembled was important to us. The 2 units arrived (excellent delivery service) but of course we have to unpack. Finally managing to do this and assembling the handles I noted the finish on the unit was not completed. I contacted the seller immediately and it was arranged to have the unit replaced. I then started to put the handles on the next unit and had a nasty surprise. Woodworm! I immediately contacted the seller and was surprised when julien Bowen said the wood was kiln dried and this shouldn't be a problem. They did not offer to replace. Of course I said I wanted an immediate replacement simply because I did not want an item with woodworm in the house. They did agree to replace but because they were out of stock this took a couple of weeks. Right so the new replacements arrived. And again, we struggled to unpack and set up only to find the finishing off on both sets were definitely not of a standard to be expected. There were even some metal filings in the drawers, I haven't got a clue how! We are going to keep the drawers for no other reason than we simply cannot manage to repack them all up, then wait for some more and then have to set them up again. Whoever is in charge of quality control needs to be quality controlled themselves.

I was interested in a Julian Bowen Alfie sofabed but I wanted to know what the back looks like as it will not be going against a wall. I phoned them and they didn't help. They just told me to email customer services. I did that and after several days they replied to say they can't send a photo of the back because they don't have one. Neither could they tell me anywhere that might have one in stock to view. How difficult can it be for a company to source a photo of their own products? I just felt like they couldn't be bothered helping.

I bought 6 of the Julian Bowen Goya chairs on 6th October 2024, they were bought to use on Christmas day. I used them Christmas 2024 and they didn't get any more use until around April 2025 when my 2 grandsons were old enough to sit at a big table. From then, 2 of the chairs got used every Saturday for the kids meals. Fast forward to November, I noticed the stitching was coming away from the back of the seat where it meets the back of the chair on the 2 chairs in use. I contacted where I bought them from only to be told, sorry outwith the 12 months, then contacted the designer via email to see if there was any way they could be fixed, wasn't expecting it to be free, got no answer from them. Just noticed a third chair, which literally has been sat on 3 times is starting to rip. At £175 for 2 chairs, they are not the cheapest so I expect them to last longer than this, avoid like the plague, terrible quality, not fit for purpose. I would upload the pictures but dont have that option, won't ever buY from this designer again.

I purchased a gorgeous table and 4 chairs but sadly a piece had arrived broken. I was so disheartened so I contacted Argos (the third party I purchased with) for help. They were totally rubbish and wanted to arrange a collection for the whole order and get a replacement sent out!
Instead I contacted Julian Bowen directly using a previous email I had received from them to arrange the delivery (their communication was brilliant throughout). The customer service team were super understanding and sent out a replacement part immediately. No hassle!

Delivery was dreadful. Told I would get it on the Sunday but then they emailed on the Sunday night to inform me that it would be Monday when no one would be at home. Unable to call them as they were closed when I received the email.
The Osaka table, was a nightmare to assemble due to the complex positioning of the legs! The assembly instructions were practically non existent Just provided with a picture and not much else. Took 2 people 3 hours to just at the the legs!!!
Dry heavy. Looks lovely.
Not sure I would buy any further products from JB.

I bought sofas just 2 years and 2 months ago. Absolutely terrible. First I purchased a sofa bed. On 2nd day I opened it abd the wood snapped in half now the 2 seater armrest has snapped and both 2 seater and 3 seater have sunk abd wood is loose at the back. Terrible workmanship won't recommend

I would just like to say a big thank you to Leanne M for all her help. We bought a bench but as we completed the last bit we had a part that broke. I sent off an email and by the next day Leanne had emailed me and sent out a new part it was with me with in 4 days couldn't have asked for any better customer service than this.

I bought Julian bowen trundle bunk bed on wilko with overpriced and once I fixed it, when is fixed it then only I find out it chipboard and is very thin is moving a lot, I think because is damaged it not safe for kids as it so thin chipboard or they did display it and saying it a made with oak. When we fixed it already there was some screw missing and some scratches on the chipboard . So when I send complaint they asked me to dismantled, and put on the packaging. As we do have small house I didnt tought to refund the bunkbed as I payed it expensive I tought It food quality, strong. So I did recycled the original boxed...
I managed to dismantled it as it wasn't safe for my children so I leave it outside as I do not have place to keep inside my house they didnt come to collect it, so I lose £673 and they didnt give me refund after 2 months of sending them complaint and refund .
I do not ask anyone to buy this bunkbed from JULIAN BOWEN , as it complete scame . It not strong is damaged .
