Our company recently held a team meeting day at Kingswood Ashford, and it couldn't have gone better. From start to finish, everything was well organised and genuinely enjoyable.
Ian and the Kingswood team were amazing, accommodating all our needs and preferences without a hitch. When we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles, and the facilities were perfect for both indoor and outdoor activities.
After a productive team meeting, our afternoon was packed with a variety of team building exercises that were not only fun but also challenging. These activities really helped us strengthen our teamwork and communication skills. The instructors were fantastic – professional, engaging, and great at encouraging everyone to get involved, no matter their comfort levels.
The lunch provided was excellent, with a range of delicious and healthy options to cater to different dietary requirements.
Overall, Kingswood delivered an outstanding team meeting day experience that exceeded our expectations. It's an excellent venue for companies looking to invest in team building and employee engagement. Highly recommended to other businesses.

What an amazing place with so much to offer, a hidden gem.

As an establishment well known for great quality school residentials, it was a joy to hold our company's quarterly team meeting there for 35 staff. A spacious and comfortable meeting room was available, with excellent catering (in both selection and quantity), with the added bonus of team building activities in the afternoon including tasters of problem solving, zipwire, laser tag and bushcraft - something for everyone!

We witnessed many of the 780 young people on site who were all happy and engaged. With such a vast number of quality activities evident - we observed a smooth and slick operation as the groups rotated - amazing logistics!

Would thoroughly recommend - and not just for young people!

Kingswood is a fantastic venue, with delicious food and excellent staff! From the moment I contacted the centre about our team day (for 33 staff), they were great; communicative with keen attention to detail to ensure our staff needs were catered for, from the room required, equipment, right through to labelling allergens on out ploughman's lunch (as we had varying dietary requirements). The organisation before the event was exemplary. On the day, the process was easy, the room was set up, ready for us to use, the facilities were clean and tidy and the staff for the organised activities were engaging. We could choose different activities to account for various levels of daredevilry and ability so all staff felt able to participate. Staff have given such positive feedback about the day (even though we did work in the morning!) Well done to Ian and his team!

We had our all staff team meeting at Kingswood, the first time I have been there and it was so good, the staff were so friendly and Ian was amazing, the room was a perfect size and the food was lovely and so much of it!
A great day and good to see all the staff enjoying themselves getting involved in all the activities. I would really recommend organisations to use for team building days/events

We attended the Ashford venue for a team building day. We had an amazing day! The staff were very helpful and friendly. I was particularly impressed by their safeguarding procedures in place. The food was delicious. The outside space was incredible! The activities were well thought out, safe and organised. We had lots fun on the team building and zip wire! Would definitely come again and highly recommend.

I would like to say a special thank you to Terry the manager at Ashford who was so helpful to me when I couldn't get home after dropping my child off for a school residential! So appreciated thank you again!

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE… my son was disgusted by the living conditions of this venue in the Isle of Wight. He had to sleep on a soiled stained mattress, with springs poking through. The toilets were stained and filthy, urine scented hallways, extremely basic cheap food, i could go on, but it’s sadly put him off trying another school trip, and at the age of only 11 it’s such a shame. Please do your research before sending your child here for a ‘fun school trip’ as it was far far from that.

Two of my children attended a trip to the Isle of Wight and reported conditions that were nothing short of squalid. Among the issues they noted were:

Dirty toilets, with blood observed and filmed on the floor
Spiders present everywhere
Beds that were uncomfortable, with springs protruding
Beds that had been used and not had the bedding changed
Poor quality food
Lack of engaging activities

Very disappointed, contacted the centre, received a very standard reply stating their contract was with the school. Nothing short of disgusting.

We would like to express gratitude to all the staff at Colomendy and supporting staff in making our weekend a very memorable experience.

All the boys had a smile on their faces traveling back with stories to tell.

The accommodation was comfortable and the food was varied with the additional salad bar as a bonus.

A special thanks goes to James, our activity leader who looked after us through our duration, funny, entertaining and engaging.

The programme set out for the weekend was amazing with a varied fixture of things to do,with some of the boys overcoming their challenges/fears.

We would definitely recommend Collomendy and hope to return in the near future. *****

Ignore most of the negative feedback from here, if my child comes back exhausted, that means they had a good time, if i feel a spring in my back from the mattress that means i am not paying 'The Ritz London', if the kids see a spider, that means they are in the great outdoors.. enjoy it, you'll soon be home again in your comforts..

There was toilet paper all over the bathroom ceiling on a wall next to a bunk bead rat poo on one of the bunk beads stains all over every mattress in the room. The food was good activities were good I wouldn't recommend booking if you're afraid of highs overall it wasn't very good

I spoke to Daniel this evening. I wanted to know the sale of a property in my area that has just been sold. he Kindly gave me the information and told me what the ceiling price was for that catchment area. I also wanted to know about renting options, and if that would work for me as a home owner, amongst other things that were discussed. Thank you so much for your advice Daniel its put a lot of my concerns at ese, but also gave me something to think about. Daniel was, polite and professional and he was honest with me, which I appreciate. Thank you Daniel. Great service!!

This place was so disgusting. The beds had mold all over them and blood everywhere. Please save your money don't go here half my school have food poisoning from the chicken. The beds had springs coming out of them and the staff came in my room at night while we was sleeping and this place is next to a graveyard and it use to be a prison. The staff were horrible and i had no privacy the vending machines took all your cash and didn't give you your drink and the toilets smelt like my school farm. This place needs to be shut down and go back to a prison. Also there is still barbed wire all over the fences and it made me feel intimated. 0 Stars if i could!

Disgusting
First day was alright but most of the activities left me injured and covered in scars and blood mostly on my knee. The food was vile my friends ate the chicken on the 2nd day and they got food poisoning. On the bus back people were throwing up and my friend had bowel problems from the food.coach had to stop off somewhere and got plastic bags to be sick in because so many people were being sick at a time they'd be cleaning up for the whole 2 hours. The rooms were minging and there was poo and blood everywhere and the bathrooms smelled bad at first and even after we sprayed it with somthing it was still bad because the shower was boiling hot and sprayed you in the face and was boiling hot. The campfire on the 2nd night was a deathly experience I swear im gonna get hospitalised for all the dust and dirt and ash going into my lungs and eyes. The good parts were the alpha guy with the chicken nuggets. Love him. And the fashion show was good. Anyways I'm not sure what I did wrong to get treated like this. I felt like a medieval peasent with the quality of everything.

Activities were fine, however the food was terrible. I avoided it, worried I’d get food poisoning, and two friends did. The dorms were horrible, there were stains on the sheets. They were not clean, and my dorm had a Nazi flag drawn on the wall by a previous school (which was not covered or removed.

Absolutely brilliant!

I've been visiting Kingswood Overstrand for the better part of a decade with two different schools and the experience has been fantastic every time.

The Adventure Team work incredibly hard to tailor the programme to your group's specific needs and are open to discussion if anything needs to be amended or changed. Activities are well-run, with highly trained staff who build a great rapport with the children and encourage them to challenge themselves and achieve their best. I've had many, many different instructors work with us over the years (some more than once!) and the experience has never been anything other than exceptional for the children. They are always great fun and support in any way they can. Brought a water pistol? They'll help you fill it!

The guest services team work tirelessly to ensure that all children are provided for - whether it's additional bedding changes, dietary requirements or an emergency sewing kit - just ask them and they'll do their very best to get things sorted for you. They'll help you get sorted with accommodation and any phone or email query is dealt with quickly and efficiently. If you need to complete a pre-visit risk assessment, they'll facilitate that.

The accommodation is absolutely fine. Is it the Ritz? No! But the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable enough and any snags or issues are dealt with as quickly as possible. The house-keeping team work hard to keep the accommodation clean, tidy and welcoming for all.

In terms of food, there is always something for everyone. The kitchen team cater for numerous allergies and other dietary requirements and can tweak the menu to suit the needs of your group. The kitchen staff are lovely and the children have certainly never gone hungry. They'll even sort out sandwiches for you for a beach picnic if you ask them nicely!

The area itself is fab, with the beach about 5mins away and a play park to explore if your group is comprised of younger children. Overstrand Hall itself is rich with history, some of which you can read about in the different photographs and displayboards dotted around the building.

I would absolutely recommend the centre to anyone considering Kingswood Overstrand as their next school residential. There really is something for everyone (even the teachers!) and our children and staff never have anything other than positive comments to say on our return.

I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.This place should be shut down and gave me food poisoning and the crockery was dirty.Every instructor was below the age of 18 and hair in food.You can feel the springs in beading in your body.Prisoners get a better experience.

Vile experience at Colomendy- bug infested, yellow urine stained sheets and poo in the showers. Food was undercooked with insects crawling in it. The staff were all extremely young and rude. Very cloud with doors banging open and closed all night long. Very strange “peep” type holes into the dormitory doors…. Felt incredibly unsafe and there was such a strange vibe of something a bit dark going on. Activities were pathetic, designed for toddlers and nowhere near anywhere close to what is advertised on the website. Most of the activities took place in the car park, one of the instructors just sat down and had a cigarette because he couldn’t be bothered!!
Honestly, one of the worst experiences of my life. Please think really carefully before going here it is vile, disgusting, not fit for purpose and needs to be inspected.
