Repairs to our Lacanche range cooker are few and far between. Lacanche customer services are alwayts extremely helpful and were able to get an engineer to me at short notice in the run up to Christmas ... total saviours :))
The engineer was polite and efficient, and left us with a fully functioning cooker ready for the festivities.

Update: La Canche service department is extremely helpful and they made every effort to help me understand the gas oven. They made every effort to help me understand how the temperature works.
It takes a lot of effort to cook with the gas oven. The temperature (as the technician explained) will keep climbing with the door closed. You need to regularly open the oven for the heat to escape. I do love cooking but doing so many checks is not something I have time for.
The gas valves changed from 2015 apparently and I am sure La Canche can explain how things work better than I can.
If I could chose my own oven I would just go for electric and induction hob (it won’t give you that authentic look but I am all for convenience). I also don’t like cooking on my knees!! I would go for a design higher off the ground. I really miss cooking at a convenient height! I am stuck with what I have! It’s beautiful but that’s it.
Again, service and technicians were all superb.

What am I missing or not understanding?
I inherited my oven as it came with the house. I had it serviced as it is 10 years old maybe older…and after service my food was still burning in electric oven on the one side. Technician said door inside panel was bent and stood on it to level it (this at the 2nd call). I could if not happy replace the inside panel for a price but it looked ok. I don’t know about this method though
Gas oven…what a pain!!!!
I am so sorry but I am afraid the gas oven really is not working well. I have now measured temperature myself with my own thermostat after the 2nd call out. On nr 1 of the dial the temperature already exceeds 180 celcius within 30 minutes. The technician said 180 degrees Celsius should be measured at nr 4 on the dial/knob for UK standards.
As I explained before, I can see the flame igniting and remaining the same size it does not matter how I change the knob. According to the technician the flame itself switch on and off and that way the temperature is regulated. I am standing watching the thermostat just climbing for ambient temperature at marking nr 1 on knob. And it now after 30 minutes already at/near 180 degrees celcius. Why did I take this advice at face value without testing this myself. (That’s on me) I can honestly say this is the worst disappointment to me as this is now my 3rd time contacting lacanche uk/Forneaux de France and this now made my Christmas cooking a challenge.
Can anyone explain why it reaches more than 180 degrees on the knob at 1? Am I missing something?

Visit from a service engineer to mend broken oven door (hinge replacement)… very helpful 30 minute ‘warning’ before he arrived. Completed the job quickly, efficiently and gave me a few extra tips! Very pleased.

I have enjoyed cooking on my Lacanche for the past 20 years and have always had it serviced regularly.
Recently, I experienced a couple of issues that needed resolving quickly before Christmas. The whole experience and service was fantastic, from booking a date for an engineer to attend to having both the issues resolved. The engineer was very impressive, a professional with a huge amount of knowledge and experience. Importantly, the price was fair and reasonable too! If you love your Lacanche and want to look after it, I highly recommend you consider the services of Lacanche UK.

Recently had an engineer to look into a tripping problem with my Cluny cooker. ( twin electric ovens) He thoroughly checked the circuits and the individual elements. The grill/non-fan cooker elements were found to be giving spurious resistances when warm. Decided to change the elements and the problem is no more. I have had this Cluny for 29years and has given absolutely no problems in that time. He checked the seals etc at the same time and they were found to be in good order. A very reliable cooker and I would recommend a Lacanche to any cook that enjoys cooking.

After enjoying my cooker for several years I took up the recent suggestion from Lacanche to get it serviced.
Great experience - easy to book, not bombarded with constant reminders, call to say they were en route and a very cheerful and professional service engineer who provided lots of helpful extra advice about my cooker.
It gives peace of mind that it has been thoroughly checked over.

Excellent service from enquiring about a Lacanche cooker to delivery and aftercare. Had a minor issue that was dealt with swiftly and professionally. The engineer who came out to fix the issue was extremely helpful. After fixing the issue he then advised on how to look after our Lacanche to get the best out of it for many years to come. Amazing product and amazing service. They answered all my queries before I purchased, sent through the picture of the product I configured and sent through the samples of the colours which I need to choose from. There is a long lead time for the product, but it is well worth it. From start to finish, it is a quality product, but more than anything else, the service is truly excellent!!

Excellent service. Service tech was very helpful. Since we just purchased a house that included our oven he took the time to explain the features of the oven with me.

Cannot recommend Lacanche highly enough. Asked for an assistance with a minor repair, and within a couple of days had an appointment booked all via email. On the day of the booking, we had a call prior to his arrival, and then he was supremely helpful not only with the repair but also showing us how to ensure the hob was working optimally and giving the whole cooker a once over to make doubly sure there would be no other issues.

Kiran the technician explained what the service entails, he was here for a couple of hours and kept me updated as he was doing the service.

We recently moved house and discover a 25 year old Lacanche that wasn’t working. After a helpful chat with the service department I booked a full service and now have a fully functioning oven. The whole process was very smooth, and the we are very pleased to have the oven working so well despite its age. Thank you.

We has a booked service call out which was amazing, the communication of booking and service was excellent. The engineer also did some additional work onsite to support us.. I would not hesitate to recommend the service.

I booked a minor repair for my Lacanche oven door. (it has seen a lot of use) Lacanche were excellent. The help desk was very polite, helpful and knowledgeable when I called in to book. They managed to find an appointment quickly which was great as it is their busiest time of the year.
The engineer arrived on time. The work was completed in the 30-minute time slot. The repair is excellent, the engineer was very polite and professional. He protected my kitchen floor, did not make any mess and found time to give me and few tips on the use of the oven.

I have had my Lacanche Citeaux Range Cooker for 6 years now and unfortunately one side of the induction hob stopped working. I decided to have a full service to replace this and check everything else was working ok as you get 10% off parts with a service. The engineer came at the stated time and carried out a check of everything. He replaced the induction part and ensured it worked correctly and tested everything else. He showed me how to work the BBQ part effectively, as I wasn’t shown this when I first took delivery because we were still building the house/kitchen so it wasn’t in situ. This was so helpful. The engineer was very careful and ensured he cleaned up afterwards. It was a very professional experience.

I was pleased to discover that the Lacanche engineers periodically visit Northern Ireland to service the cookers. My 18 year old Lacanche had begun to have a few problems, the electric oven had stopped working, the gas oven wasn’t as efficient as usual and one of the doors was making a grating noise. The engineer fixed everything very quickly explaining what needed to be done. Everything is working well now and like a new cooker!

I was able to book a standard service with the Forneaux de France office in Poole recently.

The whole process was very easy. The engineer arrived on time, with a courtesy call beforehand to say he was on his way. The cooker needed two sets of oven doors fitted, a new neon and two new igniters. The whole service took about two hours. There was no mess for me to clear up and the cooker is as good as new now. Would recommend this is done every few years for safety and to keep it working well. My cooker is now over 20 years old and cooks as well as it always has.

I booked a service engineeer call out - to look at issues on my gas hob. Very pleased with service provided - professional service with full explanation of checks and repairs undertaken.
