Found an unauthorised direct debit set up on my 86 year old dad's account for Lifestyle Perks. I have POA and deal with his finances. On checking up Lifestyle Perks, I was shocked to see all the reviews of how many elderly, vulnerable people they had scammed. I then noticed similarities in that my father did, a couple of months ago, receive a telephone call saying he was getting a refund for a washing machine. He is deaf and has dementia so gave out his bank details, but then got distressed afterwards when I told him it was a scam. It was awful to hear him cry and get distressed. I immediately informed the bank to ensure no monies had been taken from his account. Now a couple of months later they have tried to set up a direct debit. Thank goodness, I spotted it before they could get their grubby fingers on his money. I've reported them to the bank fraud team and Action Fraud. They are a scandalous company who prey on the elderly and vulnerable

You cannot give zero stars and get into Trustpilot
It seems a common pattern of Lifestyle Perks duping aged vulnerable people. The other day when reviewing my 91 year old mother's Bank Statement I spotted a single £1.00 transaction followed a few hours later with another transaction of £399.99. My mother does not use the Internet so must have been duped by a cold calling sales person (I cannot write what I would like to call them!). She is partially deaf and misses what people say.
I asked if she knew the Company and she didn't.

SCAMMERS
I have just noticed a transaction on my account for this company, no idea who they are but withdraw 104.00 without my permission. Reported as FRAUD to the bank and REPORTED to the POLICE and TRADING STANDARDS, i think this is linked to a purchase form a shopping channel. Absoutley disgraceful that my card detaisl have been passed over without my permission

Really this should be zero stars but the system would not let me progress. My elderly parents have been duped by this company and they have taken almost £400 out of their bank which they are stalling to pay back even after agreeing that they were at fault. They promised a cheque in June and no communication let alone payment has been refunded.
My parents will never use this service or perks as it is labelled.
I have requested a full refund as the company took advantage of a vulnerable adult.

My 95 year old mother, in a residential home, has been scammed by this company, they took £1 then later took £399. The bank have reacted well and immediately refunded the money when I flagged the issue up but most worrying is that they cannot answer or understand how the DD was set up without my authority as POA and as the only one able to access the online account. Contacted the company who asked for POA but no contact since despite repeated requests. Be very aware, check elderly relatives statements regularly, this company appears to prey on the elderly, needs addressing by the authorities.

My 80yr old StepDad with Dementia scammed by this company, Direct Debit set up without my knowledge, will be contacting bank.
Be careful praying on the elderly !

I'm happy with the discounts I get on food shopping, and stuff like just eat. The card works well if you use it strategically for everything you buy.

Yes another instance of this company defrauding old people. My 86yr old mother had a mysterious direct debit on her account for £1. I didn't recognise the request, so did a quick google search and found hundreds of complaints of a scam. I cancelled the Direct Debit immediately and asked Lloyds to refund the money.
Lloyds are saying they have done nothing wrong, despite the company being dissolved in 2019. They are unable to explain to me how the Direct Debit was instigated or why the system has failed to do Due Diligence on this company. They are even refusing to uphold my complaint and may take their refund back.
Edit: TrustPilot have now said "Based on your review, Lifestyle Perks would like a little more information about your experience."
Take a look at all the other reviews and you will see my experience of this company is similar to everyone else's. Lifestyle Perks is dishonestly obtaining money through the Direct Debit system. They should prosecuted for fraud.

Done the same to my mother. Took £1 out of her account by direct debit somehow without her authority. Luckily I've spotted it and she's onto the bank now to get it sorted out and blocked in future.

My 87 year old mother has just been scammed by this disusting outfit the same MO £1: taken last month then £399.95 the following month I've reported them to the bank and to the police.
EDIT: The company are asking for a reference number, please note my mother has NO reference number, she has never had any dealings with your company, she has never signed up to anything with your company, she has never had any communication with your company, she doesn't even own a computer!
Update: Having read through previous reviews it's come to light that my mum received a phone call from these crooks informing her that she was due a refund on her washing machine insurance if she could just "give us your bank details we'll arrange this".
And Lauren, if you think for one minute I'm going to give your company any further details you're having a laugh, my solicitor is very interested though.

My 89 year old mother has just been scammed by this company for £399 , Looks like they are preying on the elderly. If you saw the panic in her face !
How can this company even exist, it needs to be wiped of the face of the earth .

My elderly father has had £399.95 taken from his account having been scanned in giving his account details. This a has been reported!

Dear Lauren,
Your reply isn't in keeping with your complaints manager who advised that your sales partnerships had no way of knowing age or vulnerability! Can you please provide the registered company number as the one I was given by your complaints manager and the company it is linked to were taken down by you when I posted them on here due to 'defamation'. Why are Lifestyle Perks hiding their company details (they are not the Lifestyle Perks registered on Companies house)...please provide your registered business address which is publicly available. Matter now pursued with ICO, Action Fraud, the Culture Secretary. MP and working through your business partners to make sure they are aware of how this card is being sold.

My 88 year old Mother has being scammed by lifestyle perks, first taking out £1 without without authority then a few days later took out of my Mothers bank account another £399.95.

Absolutely disgusting, £1.00 transaction followed by £399.95 transaction, set up by direct debit !! My 84 year old Aunt has no idea how they got her details and only realised when she got her bank statement.
Bank fraud team are now investigating this matter.

Resposta da Lifestyle Perks
This firm scammed my 93 year old father out of £399. Fortunately I have POA so I quickly contacted his bank. They have refunded the amount. I reported this fraud to Action Fraud but apparently it is not considered to be a "crime". The bank also seemed to be uninterested in taking any action.
Edit. Lifestyle Perks have contacted me as they don't like my review and need more details. They want to know my father's name and his membership number. Actually he does not have a membership number as he never signed up to this fraudulent organisation. I am certainly not giving them more personal details relating to my father or myself. There are more reviews about this firm on YouTube and Facebook, take a look for yourself. Sympathy to everyone else who has been scammed by these clowns
