I bought two MCRU Optimus In Line Mains Filters (one for my amp - one for my CD player). These things are amazing - hard to explain, but the level of detail coming through the speakers has increased noticeably!!

David was super helpful, he fielded several questions from me and got back really quickly. Straight and to the point, which suited me down to the ground!

Ordered these yesterday and they arrived today - would highly recommend these filters and purchasing from MCRU (on this occasion I was a returning customer - having previously bought some MCRU mains leads).

I cannot understand the poor reviews. David is certainly forthright and very honest when it comes to giving you his expert opinion. The man knows what he's talking about. As for poor customer service... I have ordered many items from David over the years and found them all to be top quality. I bought a Long Dog Audio MCRU DC power supply a few years ago for a piece of equipment that needed 9V. I subsequently swapped the equipment twice and they both needed different voltages. David has modified the same power supply for me on both occasions and all I had to do was pay for the postage to him, not the return! If that's not good customer service then I don't know what is. I will certainly continue to shop with MCRU as they are expert at what they do.

I was surprised to see so many 1* reviews for MCRU. My first purchase was a Supra CAT8 ethernet cable. I think I ordered 10m but they didnt have any. Instead of making me wait for it to come in stock, they sent me a 15m one with no extra charge.

I recommend any potential customers focus on the reviews stating the quality of the cables. As a fellow Yorkshireman, I would say that the 1* reviews were left by people not used to a Yorkshire forthright business owner!

Dave has been very helpful with me, answering lots of emails (including out of hours) and I can't wait for all my cables to arrive (Speaker, Interconnect,Digital and 4 power leads).

I will update this review once the cables have arrived and I've had a listen to them.

MCRU No.2 DIY Mains Lead Set LAPP Cable

I bought this, arrived within 3 days and I set about building it, really simple to do.

So, onto the snake oil, I didn't think a power cable could make any difference, how wrong I was, this had cleared up any amplifier buzz, hum etc and the sound is clearer much better.

Several months ago I was looking forward to making a purchase but having found two products on the website that appeared to be identical but had different prices, I decided to enquire. The response from David was 'read the description sir thanks Best Regards David Brook' I then advised that I had, but it wasn't clear and could he therefore advise. My email was ignored until I got a response copying the text from his website which I already stated was not clear.

Due to David's lack of customer service, I ended up taking my business elsewhere.

David Brooks at MCRU is not someone you should want to give your money to. He comes across as helpful and polite, but any customer who has any concern or criticism sees the other side of his personality. Many people know about his disingenuous attitude so check out the web for more info. If you want to deal with someone who really doesn't give a ----about what you think, whilst pretending to be nice, go ahead and buy his products.

Very happy with the service, communication and their products. Have bought a few bits and bobs over the years from their site and eBay store. The recent mains conditioner and advice given for it has made a tremendous difference.

David has been exceedingly polite, professional and accommodating of my request to have built an improved power supply for my phono-stage.

I initially contacted MCRU on 01-03-21. Today, on 10-03-21, I am in possession of a fantastic addition to my system.

I am not eloquent enough to 'wax-lyrical' about the vast improvements in sound quality, so I will say that my experience with David and MCRU has been very positive.

David provided a high-quality product, to my specifications, at a very reasonable cost and in a very short time after my initial enquiry.

I would thoroughly recommend this company.

Also known as MCRU. David, the owner is rude and horrible to customers. Attempts to use a bonus point scheme but refuses to honour it when you try and claim. Overprices delivery costs to add margin. Mostly repackages stuff from LongDogAudio at higher prices than if you go direct. Avoid this company.

I recently bought a power supply for my Project TubeBox DS2. Great quality, delivery and price. So happy I have just ordered another for my P3 turntable.

Very happy with this company. I bought some components in a sale and they arrived well packaged and very quickly 2 days later, but when I opened the packet it was the wrong items (better quality ones) because the sale items must have sold out. I contacted them to let them know in case they needed me to pay extra to make up the balance and David came straight back to say not to worry and the upgrade was a gift on them which I thought was very generous and creates a lot of goodwill towards this company from me. Even without the kind gift I thought the customer service and speed of delivery was commendable on its own. Recommended retailer.

Components missing from the "DIY Mains kit" sent an email requesting the missing parts, was told the items would be sent. Two weeks later I'm still waiting!

I first ordered one of his number 75 mains cables. Came within 7 days and the quality is amazing so much so I bought another. My dad needed a couple of power strips for his TV etc and he’s well happy with them. Since then I bought a record off him and the service and product were great. I will be ordering a couple more power cords and more records soon. Can’t fault MCRU

Excellent service, Iinitially purchased a Vinyl LP, but after the LP didn’t show, I was given a full refund, without any issues.

I then ordered another Vinyl LP, arrived on time, packed very well, great service and overall very happy with communication and customer service, will definitely keep purchasing into the future.

I see lots of bad reviews around customer service and have to chime in. Extremely slow delivery to Ireland and charging above the odds for crap delivery, then blames Covid for poor delivery timeframes.

How is it everywhere from Czech Republic, to France to Germany can deliver faster? Are they not experiencing Covid too?

I would have been happy to look at some of their pricier kit, but not with customer service like theirs.

Also, could use use of punctuated English when replying to customer queries instead of extremely blunt replies.

Hifi's Answer to Bazil Fawlty. I don't know how this guy stays in buisness, he comes across as a totally stressed out maniac. After trying his linear power supply for a few weeks and not being exactly blown away by improvements I decided to do a quick A/B test with the wallwart supply. To my shock I preferred the walwart slightly more, bass was better defined although a little thinner, but more pleasing to my ear. I decided that this power supply would go back under the full refund no quibble offer. I sent the subsequent email explaning the situation and awaited the reply. Quite rapidly I received the full blown Bazil Fawlty reply, to be honest I had a good chuckle (Fawlty towers is one of my favourites). I dont think Ill be troubling him again!

These mains cables are very well made and compared to the "free" ones that come with hi-fii equipment, they are far superior.
The only gripe I have is the high cost. I believe if you know what to do and how to do it , then it is possible to produce similar cables at home/diy.

MCRU delivers quality high end products at a very nice price point.
I ordered a linear power supply for Clearaudio turntables and I am very happy with it. Really well made.
It came really well packed!
First time around my package didn't get through to me due to courier failure, but David picked up the phone every time I called the company,and went out of his way to make sure I got my package in the end through another courier - thank you David!
I highly recommend MCRU.
