Avoid Nunns mazda of Grimsby.
I have in the past been the happy and satisfied owner of 2 quality used Mazdas purchased from North West Mazda dealerships. The first was the 6 in Mazda Red on a 19 plate and the second a CX5 also in Mazda Red on a 20 plate both purchased from Mazda dealerships in the North West as i live in the North West. I never once had any issues with them apart from the 6 needed stronger wing mirror motors which was happily done under warranty. Then after having a couple of Kias i decided that i would once again go back with Mazda and so started hunting for the Mazda 3 Saloon in Mazda Red from a Mazda dealership. The only one i could find was in Grimsby nearly 200 miles away in Nunns mazda. I looked at the photos on line blowing the photos up and giving them a really good scan. It looked perfect and as it was an approved used Mazda on a 20 plate it came with 12 months Mazda Warranty and so i rang them to ask questions about it and was told that it was bought new from them by a lady who was a good customer of theirs and it was serviced by them and had its mot with them. I paid the deposit and as I've always trusted Mazda dealerships i said i would get the train down which would take nearly 4 hours and would buy it. As it was 4 hours travel to them i booked a hotel. They said that when i arrived at Grimsby Station they would be waiting to pick me up in my new car and then i could drive it back to the dealership. When i arrived there was my nice Red Mazda except there was a scratch down the side of the rear passenger door and when i pointed it out to their salesman he simply said what did i expect from a used car? Because i had travelled so far and i was tired i asked if he would knock something off the price so that i could have the scratch buffed out but he flatly refused. As i was still at the train station i told him that i wouldn't therefore be buying the car and would be getting the next train home. He jumped into the car and as he passed me he was laughing out loud so that i could hear him. I went to buy my train ticket home but was told that the line had faults and so trains were suspended. With this and also because I'd paid to stay in a hotel i decided to ring the dealership and tell them I'd changed my mind and would have the car and that i would pay someone to buff the scratch out. I had also paid the dealership to apply their own paint protection as I've always had paint protection applied to cars I've purchased. I bought the car and went back to the hotel. I left the following morning 12th march for the 200 miles journey but when i reached my home the paint protection application had smeared from front to back. I rang the dealership and their response was well it hasn't happened before instead of oh dear we'll pay to have it sorted for you by your local Valeting company. I was asked by them to get in touch with the supplier of their paint protection to which they also said well mine was the only car this had happened to and that the dealership that they supplied to had never complained about anything like this before. So once again i rang the dealership. They begrudgingly paid me back the money i had paid them for the paint protection. I still needed the smeared paint protection cleaning off and so i once again rang their supplier who also begrudgingly said they would get in touch with a Valeting company local to me to reapply their solution. The Valeting company rang me and when he came round he informed me that they had offered him £30 to clean and reapply the solution to which he replied don't waste his time by offering such a pitiful payment so they agreed to pay his going rate. The Valeter informed me that he had never ever heard of this brand of solution and after reading the ingredients said it's absolute rubbish. He also informed me that he had been in touch with the people from the dealership who had applied the solution to my car and that they had informed him that they hadn't had the time to apply the base coat before applying the top finish coat and so that was the reason for the smearing as it had nothing to key onto. I ended up putting a further £300 towards having my car Ceramic coated. Surely this was the last of the bad news i would have going forward with this car. Nothing would be further from the truth. I've had new wing mirror motors but thankfully covered under warranty but the latest problem was 2 weeks ago when my car broke down and was showing multiple faults. When the recovery turned up he checked the battery and also hooked the car up to the diagnostic machine. He printed off a slip that showed the battery should be showing 335 amp which was healthy but it was actually showing 665 amp which was off the scale. Today i took the car to my local Mazda dealer and after hooking it up to their Diagnostic machine at the cost of £149 and a new battery totalling £380. Nunns mazda of Grimsby have refused to help with this cost. Avoid Nunns mazda Grimsby!!!
Bargepole!!!!!!
Four years old and 22k miles, serviced by Mazda dealer since new - major water ingress, major electrical fault causing two batteries to drain in two weeks (including the 'new' one), £1400 repair quoted for exhaust 'valve' and numerous recalls over the four years! Very poor second hand value reflects low esteem for Mazda brand.
Won't stand over defective products
Refused to stand over a cam shaft issue that lead to a Mazda 6 with 45000 miles, going to scrap. After researching issue and talking to people in the industry, this is an extremely common issue with diesel models, yet Mazda completely washed their hands of the problem. Plenty of fake sympathy, but zero help. In any other industry, knowingly selling defective products, would be a criminal offence, yet car manufacturers like Mazda seem to be immune from the rules.

Mazda uk aren't showing the class of a major player in the car industry , currently we have a problem with a sensor, we have researched and see there has been a recall in a lot of countries in the world inc US and Australia, the cost of the sensor and oil change £960 !! I've asked my local mechanic to fix but he is unable to buy sensor from any parts distributor, when contacting Mazda parts they want £945 for the sensor !!!! Something doesn't add up.
I contacted Mazda uk , they said it wasn't a recall in the uk even though same model and year the problem arose, they said to contact Lincoln Mazda (pentagon) and ask them to write to Mazda uk and ask for goodwill, I sent a message back to the customer relations manager as I thought they could easily just pass the complaint/issue to there warranty technical department but we haven't had a reply since, quite disappointed with Mazda in general, I've had a diesel for 30 years now , from Peugeot, Ford, Mercedes and Volkswagon and never had issues like this , the car itself is a fantastic drive, comfy and well supported with driver aids BUT because of this ongoing issue you are never quite confident your trip will end up in the car going into a limp mode its a real shame , if only Mazda had realistic pricing on a sensor we wouldn't be making an issue of it !!
BTW you can get the 2017 sensor for £250 ?? so why almost 4 times that for a 2018 ? I have noticed that these problems are quite common when looking at different websites and the frustration levels are similar.
Hoping Mazda do the right thing
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Dan Parfitt the sales man we dealt with had a great deal of knowledge about the vehicle I purchased and organised preparation of the vehicle for collection right on time. He explained all of my purchase options and additional products I could purchase if required without any pressure to do so. I would recommend a visit to Newport Mazda if you are looking to replace your car.

WOW... 5 STAR for Debbie and Chris took care of my car like it was their own, i had a service booked and ended up with a recall.
They arranged a loan car even though they had none Debbie worked hard to get me one from Enterprise rental. For the two and a half weeks I was kept in the loop. When my car was ready Debbie had it cleaned and ready for collection. Sometimes it's hard to get good service, Chris and Debbie made the journey more comfortable for me........ SADLY 😔 the complete opposite from the Sales Director Kam Shokar on the day I dropped the car off, I walked around the shop floor and I was trying to get my insurance details for the rental from enterprise, looking for a pen I found one on an empty desk at 8am halfway through writing the details I needed I was shouted down by Kam Shokar he was saying "don't touch that pen" as he walked over to me, after writing the details I was going to explain... without a chance to say anything Kam Shokar shouted his head off..turned and walked into his office. (I would have preferred "Sir would you like to borrow a pen)
After that his staff couldn't look me in the eye.
I know this is Romford and not Knightsbridge but the red carpet should be out for everyone who walks through the door.
I am a keen Mazda driver for many years and I feel I can't return to Romford Mazda.
Credit to the staff for putting up with this behaviour from a member of staff let alone the" Sales Director "
I have been emailing Jeremy Thompson at Mazda Dartford and my next bunch of services will be done there.
I am a highly trained specialist in my frame of work and I feel Kam Shokar looked down on me, a customer is a customer. Being the Sales Director doesn't allow him to speak with customers it that way, I'd hate to think of how he speaks to his staff.
I won't let this spoil my love for such a fantastic car brand.
100% credit to Chris and Debbie for holding customers.
Thank you Mazda
I have bought two not very expensive used Mazda cars from two different main dealers over the last eight years or so. My cars get the worst of all worlds, not used for months and then used a lot for a few weeks in areas public transport can’t take me. I have found the experience of buying from a main dealer, the peace of mind and the not such a high premium on buying privately or from a non-franchised dealer, in both cases extremely satisfying. I was not treated as a second class citizen simply because I was buying at the cheaper end of their stock list, on the contrary, everything was done to both smooth the transaction re part-exchange and transfer costs, and to make me feel special, almost part of the family. In both cases the car, guaranteed by the full Mazda dealer network, has proved to be what Mazdas always were expected to be, well built, thoroughly checked and maintained and thoughtfully retailed, respectfully and honourably with reliability at its heart and centre. I’ve had years and thousands of miles of trouble free motoring in my low cost secondhand main-dealer Mazdas. Thank you Mazda.
One of the worst customer support
One of the worst customer support. I am struggling to fix my head lamp issue for the last 3 months
very disappointed of Mazda (2.2…
very disappointed of Mazda (2.2 skyactiv diesel) full of issues…exhaust camshaft gone…Low oil pressure due to injector leak…hard break pedal( vacuum pump) gone as well so basically every warning light on this car came up this kind of issues should be done on a goodwill basis no matter of mileage
Poor attitude and customer service
My 2021 MX5 has done 14500mls from new and was 3 days outside the 3yr warranty period when I took it for service and MOT. It was found to have leaking shock absorbers. They didn't want to know. We're totally dismissive. Even told me they had had a few vehicles back with same problem and it must have been a faulty batch. Very disappointed with their lack of concern and attitude. Will be going elsewhere in future.

Awful service, very rude and incompetent advice mixed with attitude.
Keep away.
Mazda aftercare is very poor
Bought a 2017 MX-5 RF from a Mazda approved garage in June last year.
Last week the gear stick froze up whilst the car was on a dual carriageway, meaning I couldn't put the car in gear. I was coasting at about 40mph, quite a frightening experience. Was able to get on the central reservation and call for help.
Used Mazda roadside assistance and they took the car to a Mazda approved garage.
An oil leak has been identified with the gear shifter which will cost nearly £400 to fix.
I assumed my extended Warranty would cover this (still 3 months on it) but as they don't need to remove the gear stick itself, Mazda are refusing to cover the cost. I can't see this small print on my warranty but it must be there somewhere.
No courtesy car has been offered and the car is in Dewsbury (I'm in Leeds) meaning I'll have to get a train or taxi out there to collect it.
You really do feel like a second class citizen as a used Mazda owner. Even where you engage with Mazda approved services/garages, they don't want to know.
I bought the car because I heard the cars were bulletproof and the aftercare was great. Perhaps if you are buying new. But for used vehicles Mazda don't want to go near you.
Really disappointed. It isn't often you have to shell out for repairs to a vehicle you've had less than 9 months.
Let down by Mazda
Sadly, having read the reviews prior to this one, there seems to be a common theme with regards to Customer Care and Support. My son last week purchased an Approved Mazda 2 at Snows dealership in Portsmouth. Having arrived home on the day of purchase and parking on the drive, my son and his dad immediately checked the tyres and found them deflated. Whilst inflating, looked up at an angle into the sunlight and spotted a slim crack on the screen in the top fret area. We sent a zoomed in photo straight away as so disappointed and being unaware of anything causing this since collection. Portsmouth have argued this and washed their hands of our new purchase, leaving my son with disappointment and regret. He now has no faith that in such situations, they did not just do the right thing regardless and help us get this sorted… and we wonder why car dealerships can have such a bad reputation!? My advice to anyone on purchasing a car is take loads of photos before taking your car home! This is being reviewed by Mazda but why should it all be so stressful, a week on and my son has a car he has lost interest in with lack of assistance from the dealership.

I have a MX30 with major charging issues.
2 hours 45 minutes to get a 59% charge on public fast chargers. Mazda UK are saying there is no problem with this and I have had the worst customer service from Mazda Stockport and customer relations. They never call back when they promise to and now after 3 weeks of trying to get somebody to listen, they have today advised that if I am unhappy that I go to the ombudsman who have a 6 month back log. Added to this the car has depreciated £25,000 and is in so much negative equity after 2 years that I can’t get even get rid of it.
I cannot use this car except for essential travel because of the ridiculous time it takes to charge on a fast charger.
Poor show Mazda
Used car purchase Newport Mazda
The mark of a good dealer is how they react to an issue , we purchased a used car from Newport Mazda and although we had some teething issues , I have to Say Gavin the sales manager took the issue and rather than shy away dealt with it in a professional manner , thank you Gavin and the team . Looking forward to seeing you for a new car next time . I would recommend the dealership for going the extra mile . Best wishes Paul and Sally and the family .
Abandoned by Mazda UK
I bought a new CX5 and had it serviced as per manufacturer’s instructions throughout ownership. I have driven it an average of 8500 miles per year. The vehicle is out of warranty and the local Mazda dealership has advised engine repairs will cost up to £7000. Reached out to Mazda UK for support just to be told “Parts can fail at any time in a vehicles (sic) lifetime…” Letters ignored, no assistance or advice offered. Mazda UK has chosen to abandon my disabled wife and me and left us with a car we cannot use, cannot afford to repair and cannot sell.
We have own a Mazda CX5
We have own a Mazda CX5 - and brought it from Mazda dealership called Mazda Canterbury in 2023. Have many problems with my car and the breakdown service is totally useless and they don't come out also.
My first experience was bank in November 2023 when we called them and waited for over 4 hours. We called them after 4 hours and they said they was sending a pick up truck to recover my car, we just wanted it fixed at the roadside? The second time it was over 7 hours for the breakdown service and no response or call from Mazda again .
Don't bother buying any Mazda CX5 as the warranty worthless also the breakdown service is useless also.
Kind regards
Jason Dellbridge
MAZDA CX-60....absolutely the worst car…
MAZDA CX-60....absolutely the worst car I have ever purchased and owned....and Sandicliffe Mazda, Leicester are the worst dealership that I have ever encountered. From new my Mazda CX-60 has had major gearbox and software issues... 3 x recalls, charge/fuel gauge gives you false readings, loud low pitched noise and banging from gearbox when you accelerate at any speed other than a snails pace... gearbox jumping in/out of different gears ....it's unable to decide which gear it should be in ...if any !!! When reversing slowly in electric mode the car starts kangarooing which gets worse unless you stop, put the gearbox in neutral and then select the petrol engine mode. When slowing down at junctions/traffic islands and you try to pull off the car does nothing for 2-4 seconds and then the gearbox lets out a loud BANG and the car lurches forward at warp speed....DANGEROUS. Display keeps saying 'hybrid malfunction book into dealer', DAB radio won't work... all in all the worst new car I have ever purchased. As for Sandicliffe Mazda, Leicester.... I had 3 recalls, a service and a myriad of faults all booked in for Friday 12th Jan 2024....after waiting for the appointment since the beginning of October 2023 !.. I received a call from their service reception saying 'we haven't got time to go through all of the faults you have raised'... 'but we can't fault the gearbox at all...HILARIOUS....NOT... They clearly didn't even road test the car because if they had then all of the issues would have been clearly apparent...they are not intermittent faults, they are there ALL OF THE TIME...and still are !!!!
I offered to leave the car with them for several days to give them time to identify the issues, and the response I got was 'you can leave it with us but we still wont have time to look at it again anyway'...EXCELLENT !! When I went to collect my car on Monday 15th Jan, afternoon, the Mazda service office was closed !... I eventually established, after asking several random staff, that the Ford dealership were managing the Mazda operation that day.. no idea why... Went to Ford service reception and was handed the keys and told that my car was in 'zone C'...NO IT WASN'T... It was parked in the commercial vehicle park and blocked in by 4 vans/flat bed ford transits... took me 20 minutes to extract my car from the parking area...Oh, an older gent walked past me and said ' they haven't washed your car then'...clearly not as it was still covered in salt deposits and dirt... he offered to get it washed but to be honest I just wanted to get away from the place ! Now I have got to re-book the car in for all of the faults and issues ...and probably wait another 3-4 months for a booking slot...BUT NOT AT SANDICLIFFE MAZDA, LEICESTER ! Oh, one final request... can you stop calling me chasing your customer satisfaction survey.... THIS IS IT...for everybody to read and to make their own opinions... Just one further point....Mazda are fully aware of the faults of the CX-60 but have NO INTENTION of addressing them.. FACT !
I can only speak as I find and the…
I can only speak as I find and the service we received from Pentraeth Mazda when buying a used MX5 was first class. Professional, polite and efficient with no hard sell tactics. The sales manager, Josh Jones picked us up from the train station when we came to collect the car which was immaculately presented and fueled ready for our drive home. Excellent service, competitive price, I highly recommend.
Do not touch Mazda at any cost
Do not even consider buying Mazda if you value your peace of mind.
Having done just around 19,000 miles my Mazda CX5 developed engine and gearbox problems. Even Mazda diagnostics software, at a dealership, could not detect exactly what the problems were. I appealed to Mazda management but they were less than helpful and were trying to blame the dealership.
With its defects I managed recently to sell the Mazda junk to a car dealer at a loss of around £5000. I asked Mazda for a compensation of half of that amount. They ignored my request.
FURTHER WARNING: I tried to get a very reputable diagnostics centre at Leighton Buzzard to diagnose my CX5 but they declined even to touch it saying that Mazda cars are 'bad news' and that they produce too much carbon which has indeterminate effects on the engine.
