Terrible product. I have been through two of these pumps in five months, the diaphragm pops out of the motor and it becomes inoperable. No suction whatsoever. Save yourself the headache and buy another brand, these have been a nightmare.

This review is long over due for the customer service I received back in May of 2016. This is my story. I had ordered the Medela Pump In Style Double Electric pump, which I used for 2 full years without any issues, through my insurance company. I believe the name of the distributor was McKesson who shipped my pump to my local Target store for me to pick up. My husband and arrived at customer service at Target, picked up the pump, which was in a normal brown shipping box, set it on bottom of the cart and did some shopping at Target. When we were ready to leave, my husband loaded the car, put the cart in the cart stall outside and home we went. An hour after being home, I asked my husband if he had brought my pump in or was it still on the shopping cart. It wasn't in his car, so back we went to Target and the pump had already been taken off the cart (took place in Chicago). Of course we inquired at the Target customer service but no one had turned in anything. So there I was 3 weeks from delivery and had just lost my insurance covered pump. I called my insurance company to see what they could do and they only issue one pump per pregnancy. No help there. I called McKesson and there was nothing they could do for me. Then I decided to call Medela. I believe her name was Melissa, who answered the phone. I'm not sure what my goal was but I told Melissa my story. She listened and then said "can you give me just a moment?" I held on the phone for 3 minutes and when Melissa returned she said" "I relayed to my manager your story and we are going to send you a pump." I, 9 months pregnant, just started bawling. I mean, I called McKesson and Medela just to report a pump that may be returned to them and that it belonged to me. Never would I have thought that any of these companies would just give me a new pump. To me, it screams that the Medela Company really cares about babies having breast milk and have empathy for a wife who has a forgetful husband. I still tell people how much Medela care to this day. I have since donated my Medela to a family who also wanted the best nutrition for their young growing baby. Thank You Medela for wanting the best for the future! THANK YOU !!!
Sadly although the pump itself is ok, their customer service is shocking bad! A part of my pump is faulty and I tried to contact customer services almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t got a response. As one of the other reviews states - they clearly don’t care about the breastfeeding journey or the problems some mums face. Really disappointing.
I went online to order a breast pump; filled in my insurance information and was shown a pump I qualified for. Great! It got shipped to me and is actually still sitting in the unopened box. A month and a half later I got a bill for $150 for the pump. Had I known it was going to be $150, I never would have ordered it. There was never a cost communicated to me until that bill. And breast pumps are non-returnable. Convenient. I contacted Medela repeatedly; all my emails and voicemails went unanswered. And then I was sent to collections as I was waiting for a response from them.
I've had a brilliant experience renting a hospital grade Symphony breast pump directly from Medela UK, so felt I should share my experience. Been exclusively pumping for seven months now, so having the pump working well at all times is really important for me. Twice when I've had issues with the pump, medela have sent a replacement pump the very next day, without any quibbling or delays. Friendly customer support staff too. Can't fault the service. Can return the old pump for free via UPS and they pick it up from home. The pump itself is the best I've tried by far.
Absolutely horrendous company.
Don't care about people's breast feeding journey at all.
I bought the medela freestyle. It broke. The sent me a new motor. Which then broke again. Asked me to return it and they would send me a new one but my supply can't wait around for all this messing around... I asked for a refund so i could return and buy a different brand which wont keep failing and it was declined.
Obviously they are not aware that breastfeeding works on a supply and demand basis and because of their failed pump I lost most of my supply and had to work extra hard to get it back. Will not use with next baby
Jeg elsker min Medela Swing brystpumpe, som i den grad blev vores redning da amningen fejlede. Brugte den til første barn 8 gange i døgnet i 8 måneder og bruger den nu igen til nummer 2, verdens bedste køb! Bruger også flaskerne og der er super gode.
Har snakket med kundeservicen 2 gange og fået hurtigt svar og service ud over det forventede.
Kan varmt anbefales.
Pumpen virker rigtig godt så længe O-ringen sidder i pumpen. Desværre er denne O-ring nu væk, 4 dage efter vi købte pumpen og det er ikke muligt at købe en ny o-ring.. så brystpumpen er lige til at smide ud, dårligt design. Vil ikke anbefale denne pumpe til nogen.
De företag som har bra kundservice låter sina kunder reklamera trasiga produkter nära sitt hem. Medela är inte ett sådant företag utan där måste man reklamera via den butik där produkten är köpt. Att förklara för Medela att bröstpumpen, som jag använde flera gånger om dagen för att pumpa ut bröstmjölk då vår bebis inte går att amma, är köpt i Finland och vi bor i Stockholm ( en stad som Medela har kontor för kundservice ) hjälpte inte. Jag fick inte lämna in en trasig pump nära mig utan det skulle gå via Finland. Bara att skicka en pump till Finland förstörde så att det tog slut mjölk att pumpa, trodde att ett företag som håller på med bröstpumpar skulle vara lite insatt i hur det är att vara spädbarnsförälder och förståelse att göra det bästa för sina kunder! En vecka utan pump och resten av tiden blev det ersättning istället för bröstmjölk för vår bebis. Det var det dummaste köp jag någonsin gjort och kommer aldrig mer handla någon produkt från det företaget igen. Tänk efter var ni är om ni behöver handla från dom för får du problem med deras produkt ska den returneras via den butiken.
Jeg har fornylig købt en brystpumpe af mærket Medela, men oplever lidt problemer med den. Derfor henvender jeg mig til Medelas kundeservice og min mail besvares hurtig og medfølende af Medelas Produktspecialist, Fifi. Vi får en god dialog med både forståelse og en masse vejledning. Måske er det købte produkt ikke det som passer bedst til min fysik, men den service og venlighed Fifi gav er uovertruffen.
