No issues, delivers what it's supposed to

I found this team to be helpful and fair.
With time differences between UK and Australia one needs to be patient and allow up to 24 hours for a response to a question. The computerised part of the system went without a hitch. Getting money into USA is slow due to the USA Anti-Money-Laundering laws (my pilot transfer made over a week ago has not yet cleared). This is not something MidPoint can control because I see the same issues happening everywhere in the USA.
I am not impressed by the complex bureaucratic system that has been imposed in the USA following heavy fines on firms like HSBC for 'not knowing their clients'.

Raquel was great in providing assistance in my currency exchange. She followed up when necessary and provided the information I was looking for - and I saved a significant amount of money over using my bank. Thanks.

I had a few problems when setting up my midpoint but that was only because I was new to it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to sell Canadian $ or buy them and the same with the English pound. May be there could be an example option to explain it better. Saying that as soon as I had a problem I clicked on the talk to adviser button and there was someone there straight away to guide me through my problem. I am amazed how much money I have saved using midpoint

I just started to use Midpoint and I consider it a very valuable service. It 's simple and intuitive and the customer service is very efficient. They respond quickly and solve all your problems. I'm very satisfied.

The good:
Great service, easy to talk to over the phone
Cheap, their fees are cheaper than other competitors
Transparent fee structure, 0.5% over mid.

The not so good:
This is no fault to Midpoint, and you get fore warning, but if mid point doesn't have an account in your country you will be subject to third party bank fees. This fee is charged by third party banks and you don't know the costs. My fee was over one percent and it made transaction uneconomical.
My matching occurred within 20mins but this was for USDAUD, for other currencies that aren't traded that frequent, the maximum is 24 hours and may significantly differ to the rates that you initially reviewed.

Would I use it again?
Yes, if the third party banks are transparent as their rates are better than competitors. Please note that these third party fees also are charged by competitors. Also would be good to give customer an option to lock in rates at higher cost immediately rather than wait for match.

I've been using Midpoint for a couple of years now to pay suppliers outside the UK. What I like is that it's transparent. I know I'm getting the midpoint of the market and their fees are transparent. If you're sending currency abroad I recommend you check them out.

I have been a user of midpoint since it launched. I have never been disappointed and recommended it highly, including to my family who work overseas and who have also recommended it to their networks. We all agree that the service overall is excellent, its an easy to use, reliable tool with a fantastic customer service to help out if required (though the system is very simple to use). Its saved me and my family a lot of money!

I would not hesitate to recommend midpoint and have done frequently.

went without a hitch

We have not regretted changing to Midpoint for all our currency purchasing transactions. We find the online process simple & time saving. Communications are excellent. We have recommended Midpoint to other SMEs.

Easy to use and fantastic value

I contacted support a number of times during account set up and they were responsive and helpful. I have done one transfer from UAE Dirham to Euro. They do not have a bank account in the UAE so to fund the transfer you have to send it to the bank in England in dirhams. As an unusual transaction I had to physically go to my bank and fill out a long form to do this (online not possible). It then took 4 days to transfer just to midpoint. At this point I would say it is not worth doing transfers out of the UAE as the inconvenience and time cancel out any savings. Hope they get a proper local account soon.

Midpoint went the extra mile (10 miles actually) for me when, entirely due to my own fault, I was about to miss the deadline for a payment. I recommend them very highly for cost savings and service.

Very reliable service and easy to use. Makes you save money on bank charges! I use it to move money between my UK and European accounts and it works really well for me.

Simple transaction with good rates for both side. I will repeat when I need to change US$ again.
