Ineffective yet oddly pleased with themselves.
I asked for help converting DVDs and CDs to digital files. They sold me an external drive but ultimately their solution was not compatible with my MacBook Air.
I paid for an hour of telephone advice to discover this the final 5 minutes of which was with a person who spent a fair bit of time telling me how lucky I was to be speaking to him, given his 20 years experience and that he was ‘expensive.’
I can forgive the guys who tried to help me but who got it wrong, it’s harder to be sympathetic to someone that pleased with themself.
So, upon receiving a ‘how was it for you, was I good enough?’ requests that companies so desperately send out, I thought I’d respond…

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that the manner of the conversation did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify the technical assistance and outcome you received.
You purchased one hour of telephone support but were provided with approximately two hours of assistance, with the entire second hour given at no additional charge. After investigating an issue you had reportedly been trying to resolve for several weeks, Daryl Morgan identified that the external drive was not the underlying problem. The difficulty arose because your existing CD and DVD-ripping software was outdated and incompatible with the version of macOS installed on your MacBook Air.
We offered to complete the CD and DVD conversion work for you at our standard hourly rate, but you declined because you preferred to undertake the work yourself. Daryl therefore explained the solution: using a compatible earlier version of macOS would allow you to continue using your existing software. You consequently finished the support session with both an explanation of the problem and a practical route to resolving it—something you had previously been unable to obtain elsewhere.
We regret if Daryl’s confidence in his experience came across differently from how it was intended. Nevertheless, it is disappointing to see the support described as ineffective when you paid for one hour, received approximately two hours, and were given a clear diagnosis and solution.

Been coming to Minko’s for around 10 years now, bought a MacBook from there which I still use to this day. I’ve also sent a few family members there to purchase there Mac’s also! Minko’s Macs pleasing computer repair experience
I had a problem with my computer. A friend suggested I used Minko’s Macs as he had used them to repair his computer. Well, they took my computer in straight away diagnosed in two days, phoned to let me know that a part needed exchanging and they could have it ready for the next day if I was ready to proceed with the repair.
I was. The service was excellent, the staff were helpful and courteous. Overall a totally pleasing experience.

Quick and easy
Quick and easy coms, I actually met with Minko himself and he gave me a diagnostic on my MacBook Pro . It was sorted the next day pretty much and they recommended some extra upgrades for prevention and improvement and I opted for them to be done and that was done pretty much another day on. Perfect for me as I needed my Mac sorted asap ! 5 stars !

Urgent repair!
I was working out of area at a satellite office in Lewisham when my Mac suddenly stopped charging. With important reports to complete and tight deadlines, I needed to get it fixed urgently. I contacted Minkos in Lewisham, explained the situation, and they were incredibly helpful from the outset. They allowed me to bring the Mac in without an appointment to diagnose the issue, with the possibility of carrying out the repair straight away.
The problem was identified quickly and, to my relief, the computer was fully repaired within two hours. They even stayed open later than normal to make sure the job was completed. The level of service was exceptional, and I can’t thank them enough for helping me out in a stressful situation. Highly recommended.
