AVOID AT ALL COST!! Dodgy salesmen dodgy business. Aftercare is absolutely awful. Bought a Kia Niro from this place in around middle of April. Negotiated the price like a normal person would and salesman went down straight away. Didn’t even need any convincing to put the price down which made it seem a little off. Once we bought the car and started using it, the left wing mirror stopped folding, the door seal kept coming off, the AC blew hot air, the car made clunking noises when moving from a stop, and the reverse camera stopped working. We bought these problems up with the salesman and they told us to come down and they’ll have a look at it. it takes around 1.5 hours to get there.

Once we got there, they told us to get a diagnostic done and they would pay for it no matter if there was a fault or not. Diagnostics said there was a problem with the third gear which may have been the reason for the clunking noise. We took the car down again and told them the problem and they didn’t take care of it at all saying it may have been in the past and said they would not pay for the diagnostic anymore.

I asked them to at least pay for the AC as they were not willing to pay for anything else or fix anything despite having a three month warranty. He told us to go to a garage in the next street and that he would pay for the AC gas refill. The mechanic told us there was a leak and that it would cost a lot. We went back to the salesman and told him what happened. He told us he would send the parts by mail and he would send it the same day after two days.

We called him again as we hadn’t received the parts. He said he didn’t have time and will send it the day we had the call. A whole two weeks had passed and we didn’t get the parcel. We called him up again and he said he had sent it. We immediately knew that he was lying, called him out for it and got offended as if we had done something wrong. 5 mins after that call, he calls us using a different number, trying to mask his voice, posing as Parcel force claiming that had come to our house and no one was at home which was a complete lie as everyone was at home. It has been over a month and a half since we have been waiting for the part and they still haven’t showed up which clearly shows he hasn’t sent it at all.

Also scammed us with £100 extra for another 18 month warranty with an external company. We called up the external company to ask if they could help in anyway, and they said they had no data of the car. We called the salesman again to ask about the warranty company and he said he will do it. It has been just over a month and he still hasn’t registered us. I’d advise you to stay away from this company at all costs. They will convince you to buy the car one way or another, but will not care or give good customer care service after you bought the car. Worst customer service ever. Made us use our own money despite having the three month warranty. I would give 0 star if i could.

Given some of the other reviews, it is natural that this could raise concerns with prospective customers, so I wanted to give my feedback on a very positive purchasing experience (read alongside the update below).

I was after a car for my teen who is taking lessons. I’d seen a potentially suitable car advertised on this company’s website and contacted them for the registration number details which I used to conduct an online background vehicle check (no red flags raised).

With this hurdle passed, I called into the showroom and asked to take the car out for a test drive. This was absolutely hassle-free and no pressure. Without any complex rigmarole of having to give my details, I was encouraged to take the car out for a spin at my leisure. I was warned that the battery may be flat with the car being stood, so they helpfully jump started it. The unaccompanied test ride went without issue until I stalled the car about 0.5 miles from the garage. One of the team happily came out with a battery booster to help me on my way.

The car was priced competitively but I said I would be happier with a new battery, new front tyre and a dent on the passenger door fixing, which they said they would do at no cost.

The car was available for collection at the agreed time and it was pleasing to see the new battery and tyre had been fitted. There had been an error with the wrong dent being repaired but they said they had a mobile dent fitter who could come out to make good the door dent at their cost. I arranged the diary appointment direct with the repairman and the work was completed (satisfactorily) within a week.

At pick-up, I was encouraged to take the car out for another test drive to make sure I was fully happy, once again with no pressure.

The car runs well and with a 6 month warranty I don’t have any concerns at all. The sales team were very polite and courteous, and most importantly not pushy. Work was completed as promised so my overall purchase experience can be considered excellent.

I haven’t needed to use the warranty for any reason, but I’m hoping the same level of care and service is applied there too.

I had originally rated the business 5 stars, but feel the need to drop by 1 star as multiple enquiries to ask about the whereabouts of my V5 change of owner document have gone unanswered. Due to failure to provide me with this V5, I’ll need to arrange one myself with a V62 and a £25 fee. Shame really, as I had hoped that after sales would be better than other reviewers had mentioned and I’d tried really hard to be fully positive about this business as pre-sale experience was really good and we remain pleased with the car.

Avoid, obviously good at selling. Aftercare is awful. Warranty details not sent. They are dishonest. I would avoid. Just read google reviews. Some people obviously got lucky or fake reviews. But they will not look after you if you have problems.

Recently bought a car from these guys & it was a really great experience.
So helpful during questions & queries, absolutely no pressure to buy! We were able to look around the car and test drive in our own time and at our own pace.

Car was had 12 month MOT and was serviced upon collection day!

The overall process and experience has been 10/10, really friendly and helpful guys and so their best to help out!

Wouldn't give them one star. Numerous problems with the car . Had to do a chargeback in the end . Avoid at all costs

I bought a Ford Focus from this dealership on 9th March, and it has been a complete nightmare ever since. By 22nd April, with only 593 miles on the clock, the car started leaking coolant into the footwell. When I called them, they tried to refer me to an external warranty, even though they offer a 3-month warranty themselves. I had to email them mentioning the Consumer Rights Act 2015 before they finally agreed to take the car in. I dropped it off on 24th April. That's when the trouble started. On 29th April, they emailed to say I could collect the car the next day. But when I asked what had actually been done to it, they ignored my emails. Every time I called, they said they were waiting on a part. After much chasing, they finally told me to come and get the car on 8th May. When I picked it up, I asked what would happen if the same problem came back. They said they would buy the car back. But here’s the issue—they hadn't actually replaced anything. I later saw the workshop invoice, and they simply used a sealer on the seal to patch it. No parts, nothing. They were making things up the whole time to delay. Sure enough, the repair didn’t last. The leak returned on 15th June. I emailed them immediately. Nothing. I’ve called several times, and they keep saying they will reply by email. They haven’t. I’ve sent multiple follow-up emails over the past week. Still no response. I’ve now told them in writing that I want to reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Since then, they have gone completely quiet. They are clearly just ignoring the situation and hoping I go away. I’ve had to raise a Section 75 dispute with my credit card company because of this. Seriously, avoid this place. The moment something goes wrong with a car, they just disappear. This is really unprofessional and totally unacceptable.

I purchased my car back in November (a vw tiguan R) and the initial experience was brilliant. The sales guy came in and opened up for us to look, he said there were a few bits he wanted to do to the car before selling and that he would arrange for the car to be delivered once the works were carried out.
The car was delivered a few days later, but it was late evening when it was dark and heavy rain, so we were unable to look at the car properly. We noticed the next morning that there was a massive chip in the windscreen but just got it fixed through insurance and realised that the touchscreen for the infotainment system wasn't working. I straight away got in contact with the company who advised me to clean the screen with water to see if that worked, it didn't so I let them know and all contact stopped after this.
About 2 months into owning the car the tyre pressure sensor and esc warning lights came on. Our local garage had a look and advised that it would need to go to an electrical specialist as it was likely an electrical issue which would cost a lot.
Then a few weeks ago the car went into limp mode, the engine, glow plug and dpf lights all came on. Again we had this looked at by a local garage who have informed us that the dpf will likely need replacing by a specialist which is going to cost us around 3k. They have said that this is likely an issue that has been going on for years and will have been bodged to get it through a sale.
I don't have a spare 3k sitting around to fix a car that I've had for less than 6 months, so am now stuck with a car that I cannot drive. I have 2 young children and have no way of getting them around or getting myself to work without a car. This has caused so much stress.
We were absolutely mis sold the car and I really recommend avoiding this garage

I bought my Kia Sportage from Chesterfield, and the whole experience was excellent. The quality of the car and the level of customer service were both genuinely five-star.
I’d looked at quite a few Kias across the country, but this one clearly stood out it had been really well looked after. The team I dealt with were all fantastic: friendly, helpful, and professional throughout.
After seeing a couple of negative Google reviews, I felt compelled to share my own experience, as it’s been nothing but positive. I’d definitely recommend checking their Auto Trader listings as well.
I’ve had the car for a week now and it’s running perfectly couldn’t be happier. Thank you!

Really good at selling cars and providing info but as you have paid and driven off that's it!
Had so many problems with our jaguar, bought it in August but actually got it fixed by October. Been in and out of garage without courtesy cars. So we needed to put extra insurance on old car of our expenses.
No communication at all, all calls ignored needed to call garage directly to follow.
Would not recommend at all.

I collected my car on 28th February and was told the alloys would be completed before collection. However, when I arrived, the work had still not been done. I had no option but to take the car as I had already changed my insurance over and needed it to get to work.

I am still waiting for my V5 logbook, and the alloy issue remains unresolved. After months of waiting and constant delays, I ended up spending over £500 on new alloys myself because I was tired of being messed around. I returned the alloys to the motor trader as they said they would sort everything, but despite numerous emails and messages, I have received no replies.

Whenever I call, I am told they are “chasing it,” yet nobody ever gets back to me with an update. The communication and after-sales service have been extremely disappointing.

I would strongly advise avoiding this trader if you don’t want to be continuously messed around and left waiting with no clear resolution.

This is my first and only negative review. I leave lots of positive reviews on google but this company does not allow google reviews. Having bought a car for my son from this dealership I can understand why! Service was good until the car started having issues. Resolving anything was incredibly painful, and slow. In the end we got nowhere with it and ended up with a car worth scrap value. I could write a book about the things that happened but I'd rather put it behind us and try to help others to avoid a similar experience. Stay well clear.
Update: like another reviewer stated. I also had an unpleasant message from the salesperson shortly after posting this review. Ironically it was the fastest response of the entire experience! If there was an option for minus 5 stars, I would have selected that. Disgusting.

Found exactly the car I was looking for which was a second hand Volvo estate that had good service history and a lot of recent work done. Was in text contact with Mike from the dealership who was always very quick to respond and sent me videos of the vehicle and pictures of receipts etc. Drove quite a distance to Chesterfield and the car was exactly as described apart from the rear sensors weren't working which came as a surprise to the people working there as one of the recent receipts detailed work to fix this issue. There was no quibbling from them and they said that, if I got the work done, they would cover the cost. This was sent to me in writing in an email and the cost of this work was, indeed, fully covered. I was very impressed with the communication, quality of the vehicle and the fact that they did not argue about the parking sensor issue. I would definitely consider using them again, which I have found, in the past, you cannot always say about second hand car dealerships

Bought a used Mercedes, advertised as excellent condition, but arrived with heavy rust around rear window and rear bumper scratch – neither disclosed.
After negotiation, they gave a small price reduction for the cosmetics.
Then the Start/Stop system failed within a day – a key feature and covered by their warranty.
Multiple calls, emails and voicemails completely ignored. Zero response.
Eventually had to claim successfully under Section 75 via my credit card, which was upheld – confirming breach of Consumer Rights Act.
Shocking lack of communication and aftersales support. Steer clear if buying used.

Picked our car up today, Audi TT. Michael was more than accommodating from start to finish with the handover. The car was exactly as described and Michael insisted on a test drive even though we felt it was not needed. Absolutely would recommend this dealership.

Avoid this dealership at all cost. My son bought a car from Motor Trade UK for £2050. The following day, it wouldn't start. RAC called out and diagnosed with tons of problems and they advised taking back. Initially, Motor Trade seemed helpful and agreed to fix it. Meanwhile, my son is without a car to get to work. Four days later, a mechanic is sent. Fixed one problem, found more. Car still unsafe to drive. Long story short; problems with car continued and Motor Trade advised my son to return the car for a refund. He did this on 26th of September and they fobbed him off saying he would have his refund by 1st of October. This didn't happen. Our calls and messages were ignored. I eventually got through to them (using a different phone number) and spoke to salesman 'M' who was incredibly nervous and very unprofessional. He claimed he'd been asking my son for his bank details. Completely untrue. We have every communication screenshot. The same salesman again promised two separate dates for refund, which didn't happen. By this time, we are getting really frustrated. Eventually, ten days after returning the car, he got £1850 back - £200 less than what he paid. Absolutely disgusting. To add insult to injury, they have put the car back on their website for £2500. Again, with a glowing write-up about the vehicle. Don't believe anything from this dodgy place. They are so incompetent, they didn't even send the V5C off. Car was a black Volvo S40. Stay well away!
