I don't have any words to describe this…
I don't have any words to describe this service but horrible, disgusting.... I send my uk license on July 9 to exchange and till today November 1st I still did not get my license. After more then 10 call multiple emails and complains, all I got we working on it, you will get it next week, there is a problem back to all is ok and that are all lies. I depend on my license is a comercial a d I am loosing work since I can't leave the country to drive where I need to. I don't know how this people can sleep at night.
Updat! Today November 2nd 2022 I called again and was told this time that there supose to be a second license wich was issued to me in the UK and unless I provide this license I would not get the Irish. I explained that I never had a second UK license at wich point I was instructed to file a police report that the license was lost or stolen. I advised that this would be a lie and I can not do and was told that this was the only way to get my Irish license. So the driver license office instructed me to commit fraud by filing a wrong police report to obtain my license. I have proof of all of this since I recorded all the calls with this office.
Update! Today November 16 I received my driver's license. I did not submit any other documents nore did I filed the false police report as I was instructed. So this makes my wonder even more why I had to wait more than 4 months. This all shows how incompetent and corup this people are. Good luck to anyone who have to deal with them.
Awful ignorant customer service

I don't have any problem with the RSA nor any of its branches. They have actually been pretty helpful through the ordeal I'm going through. But they need to change the way driving licences are given to people.
I passed my test this summer but the celebrations were cut short pretty quickly because... here comes An Post. Licences are send by standard mail and, oh God, AP loves losing those important documents sent that way. I am now about to apply for the third time in almost 2 months. With my insurance coming up in a couple of weeks, saying I'm p..... off is quite an understatement.
AP cannot be trusted even if it's registered (they've lost a few of those too on me). At this point, I think licences should be made available for collection at NDLS centres, no third party involved. If someone still wants to rely on AP, then send it with tracking number at the driver's expense (and cross your fingers it will make it).
Whatever is the solution, please, stop using standard mail!!!
Why is the govt
Why is the govt? systems are so disgusting, slow and pathetic. I have been on the NDLS website to renew my license since morning and the disgusting service doesn't work there is no Pay option and gets a 508 error. Everything just feels so slow and pathetic.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. The guy was so rude and didn't even bother to find a solution to my query. Don't know how an inconsiderate person like this guy is there as a customer service.

Why do the regional offices not speak…
Why do the regional offices not speak with the central office. Surely in this technologically abundant era we should be able to expect that producing an original document in a regional office is the equivalent to producing it in the central office? What kind of backward decision-making is happening at the NDLS. This organisation is an embarrassment as a representative of the governments efforts to serve the Irish people. Get your heads out of the 19th century and get your act together. It doesn't take a huge amount of effort to provide a good service. So take the finger out and provide a good service, and stop the frustrating bureaucratic crap that you're currently pedaling, please - for the mental welfare of both staff and customers alike.
Website crash
In the middle of renewing my licence the website crashed. Displays message "This website is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance". Who carries out scheduled maintenance on their website at lunchtime on Tuesday? FFS
The website is a joke
The website is a joke, paid my fee for my test and I get an email to book my test and its trying to charge me again for my test. What's worse is you can never get through to there contact number and there's no way to email them. You go into centre in town and you been pushed back to the website. No wonder the ratings are so bad...
Nightmare from start to finish
Nightmare from start to finish. I have just been refused a licence for the 2nd time in 2.5 months because my car licence was not ticked on medical and eyesight report, despite the fact that my car licence has another 6 years on it. I was renewing my bus licence. I am down €250 and wasted 2.5 months. Call centres are in India. I have made 8 very long calls to date. No one cares.
Terrible customer
Terrible customer service actually no customer service- no point phoning or emailing no one takes any action. My daughter received an email detailing her learner licence would be processed noticing her name was incorrect she emailed and phoned NDLS outlining they had spelt her name wrong - nothing was done to correct her name and the card was sent with incorrect name. She immediately sent the card back on 3rd May as she was told to do- despite a number of calls and emails since then her card is still not printed or even in the post yet. The Customer service line is a joke no one takes any responsibility to ensure action is taken to rectify their mistake which unfortunately means my daughter has no learner licence to enable her to get insurance and lessons. Save your time do not bother to contact the NDLS it will make no difference except waste your time and money and leave you frustrated!
UK licence exchange
Sent away completed application to exchange UK licence 3 months ago. I am unable to drive the vehicle until the licence arrives and I get insurance. Being without the van has impeded my ability to find work, socialise, go food shopping, and all the other essential trips that need to be made. Called the customer service line to inquire about the status, was on hold for 45 minutes, then when I finally got through to a care agent, he hung up on me. Disgrace!
Want to do your theory test on NDLS
Want to do your theory test on NDLS? Via Proproctor? Don't...because they won't show up,even after you booked an appointment online and had your last 45 euro spent for a no show to an exam they did not show up to,and when you complain about it,they will hold you accountable for the loss of fee saying you should have contacted "technical support" to which by the way I already did and nowhere did they mentioned this if in case a "technological error" (on their part) happened...I contacted them via email because there was no phone number showing up for contact support anywhere,and on the same day of the theory test to which I waited for 1 hour and they still didn't show up,it's a scam,pure scam.
An absolute disgrace for public body.
waiting on a customer care agent to answer my phone call even though a recorded voice says, "there are currently no other callers ahead of you" . Then the call is just stopped. This call has already cost me €30 and will probably cost me up to €60. I need to replace a lost drivers license and finding it impossible to get through to anyone!! Disgraceful!!
Shocking service
Shocking! Waiting on my new licence 9 months now still no sign of it. Was told would take 3 weeks! No commutation with them at all emails ingored till 5 weeks ago they said they were going to process it.....still no licence

If I could give a lower rating I would. The people in the centre are very rude and have zero customer training. In the Clonmel centre, they treat young people very poorly and it is widely known. Somehow our licence was issued with an incorrect spelling despite a number of forms being submitted with the correct spelling. We are now waiting 5 weeks for the mistake to be rectified and have to postpone a number of lessons as a result. This would all be a little bit easier if the person at the counter was not so rude.
Driving license required by law but almost impossible to get
Helping to renew licences for relatives who are left waiting ages on the phone, have no email, or public service cards. The NDLS is an absolute shambles especially as a license is a requirement in law. Why are they making it impossible to get a license online or by appointment?

I was having a very bad experience with NDLS DROGHEDA South Gate .it was a very rude lazy lady who worked in the first window in the right .I just want to ask for information about my driving licence And She wouldn’t even want to answer or help and no customers at all were there .It’s not the first time but that lady should be fired straight away as She is really in the wrong place ,To precise She is not Irish She is from east Europe.Hopefully Ndls will not recruit in the futur this kind of unprofessional employees.
Worst service I have ever seen
Worst service I have ever seen. Every week I call them, waiting at least half an hour on the line. They answer with messages like diplomats !?!?!?, no clear answers are given. As if I ask from them to predict the weather for a year ahead - not to check in their system the status of my application. As if no one there wants to get any responsibility of what he/she doing... You can complain as much as you can - no body care. Its a same that such organization had such awful customer service and approach.

Absolute disgrace is not even close to describing this service !!!! To add to it, when you do eventually get somebody on the phone (email contact is ignored) they state the problem will be sorted....no such thing. Enter another half an hour on hold !
