I would say it was a bit of a mess start to finish. But there never really was a finish because they just stopped responding to me.
The initial phone call started out well after I had filled out an online form. But there was an issue creating a document upload portal for me to submit things like T4's, property tax, employment letter etc. My agent said he would speak with support snd get back to me by the end of the day. He never got back to me. The next day I phoned and spoke to a different agent. She said she would reach out to my original agent and request he contact me. She said if he did not get back to her or myself in half an hour she would call me back and transfer me to someone else. Neither called me back that day either. I should mention I sent emails to my original agent both days for follow up and never got a response. I called back a third time and requested to speak with tech support. I did and they were able to fix my login issues. I then uploaded and submitted all my documents, and emailed the agent to tell him they had been uploaded.... that was over a week ago and no one has gotten back to my email or called me. Needless to say I went and renewed with TD. There is no way I'm going to give that much business to a company that can't respond to multiple phone calls or emails. Next time I renew I won't waste my time even considering Nesto

Everything from the first phone call to closing was a great experience. Advisors were very thorough and honest in explaining rates, how business is done, transferring our mortgage from one place to another. No issues going through underwriting, an easy interface to upload all information securely, and once funding was approved, going through their end to close was pretty effortless. They were fast on responding to emails, professional, and happy to assist. I felt like an appreciated customer and not just another $$$ bill coming in.

Edwin was very courteous and patient during the entire process. I made my final decision to port over with Nesto within the week of my mortgage closing with TD. The customer service from Edwin specifically was exceptional.

My previous lender (big 5 bank) could not even bother to call me and when i reached out they told me to fill out the online application. Needless to say they lost all my business.

The process from getting a quote and getting pre-approved to being funded for my mortgage was super smooth, easy and secure. The fact that I didn't have to send my T4 with my SIN over email, and that I have an site to follow my application was what got us to choose nesto.

A friend referred me to Nesto for my mortgage renewal, and it was honestly the best service I’ve ever recieved by a financial institution. The advisor reached out to me quickly, provided rates in a very timely manner, and didn’t pressure me at all. He was easy to reach with follow up questions, and neato set up everything for the transfer/notary. A completely stress free event, which is super rare when you’re talking about mortgages. They also have a great online portal that makes it’s incredibly easy to make lump sum payments on your mortgage and shows you how many months of interest/how much quicker you pay it all off based on the sum. It really incentivizes you to take advantage, even for small amounts. It’s possible I would have recieved a slightly better rate at my old lender, but the difference in service is SO much better, it’s well worth it for me to have switched. I’ve been burned by previous lenders that are impossible to reach. Really recommend Nesto and Karun Khanna (our advisor)

I would rate lower if i could. wasted my time and effort. Asked for documents that were irrelevant. I already have mortgage with RBC secured and NESTO argued needed more info
Also did credit check to lower my score which i never should have agreed till i was approved...Live and learn with these fly by night mortgage brokers.

I chose Nesto because I was expecting professional guidance through my first mortgage renewal. Instead, working with mortgage advisor William Paulon, I ended up having to manage much of the process myself and incurred over $1,300 in additional interest waiting for the transfer to complete.

My renewal application was submitted to a lender in January and I signed the commitment on January 29. After that, communication largely went silent until I followed up myself on March 3. Nesto's subsequent review confirmed that my application was moved to a different lender and submitted for underwriting on March 12, which was just 18 days before my existing mortgage matured on March 30. The transfer ultimately didn't complete until April 15. I was not adequately warned about the risk of this lender change delaying the transfer. This resulted in more than $1,300 of additional interest.

When I asked Nesto to reimburse this cost, they refused. I also explicitly requested that my complaint be escalated, but that request and my subsequent follow-up were not addressed promptly. Nesto ultimately acknowledged that the escalation should have been handled sooner, but still refused to compensate me.

I acknowledge that William did get me a very good rate; however, that shouldn't be his only job. I was counting on him to manage the process, communicate proactively, and make sure I understood material risks. In my experience, William and Nesto failed on these fronts. The lower rate was not worth the stress, time, and additional costs. I would not use Nesto again.

*Edit: I want to add that I started the renewal process with Nesto on October 11, 2025, which is substantially earlier than 120 days before my March 30, 2026 maturity.

Me and my wife can only speak with the biggest gratitude towards Elisha Salazar in the way he handled our mortgage from the beginning until it was paid off.
He helped us during Covid when we were sick and was available during the whole process with the smallest detail.It truly felt like we had a family member at Nesto helping us!

I had a great experience with Nesto. When we wanted to make changes to the mortgage, E.D. Salazar, a Senior Mortgage representative, made the entire process easier by fully explaining what needed to be done. He was professional, friendly and supported us during the whole process. Communication was excellent; he kept us updated and the changes were completed in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Nesto.

Its my second time using Nesto and I had a good experience both times. This time, I worked mostly with Karun Khanna and he was really patient, quick to respond and truly helpful along the whole process. I had many questions throughout and he always took the time to respond in a timely manner, even on weekends! Karun made this experience smoother and I recommend him and Nesto to anyone looking for mortgage needs.

J'ai souscrit mon hypothèque chez Nesto en demandant explicitement une assurance emprunteur. On m'avait dit que leur partenaire me recontacterait pour finaliser cette démarche. Il ne l'a jamais fait. J'ai envoyé de nombreux courriels de relance, sans jamais obtenir de réponse ni de rappel. Un client qui fait la demande d'un produit précis et que personne ne prend la peine de suivre, ce n'est pas un oubli, c'est de la négligence.
Le dossier s'est clôturé sur la même note. Des frais de clôture de 225 $ ont été prélevés sur mon compte sans que je reçoive le moindre courriel m'informant de la date du prélèvement. Aucune communication, encore une fois.
J'ai fini par refinancer mon hypothèque ailleurs, à de meilleures conditions, et avec un service qui répond réellement aux courriels. Cette expérience chez Nesto restera pour moi un exemple de ce qu'il ne faut pas faire en matière de relation client. Je ne recommande absolument pas.

Working with Nesto to secure our first mortgage as first-time home buyers has been a great experience for my wife and me.
