I have used their software since 2014

I have used their software since 2014, mainly the cross-platform tools for Mac OS and Windows. I used most of their products but repeatedly experienced issues and lack of support! Be prepared to have a disaster recovery action plan, as installing their software may result in complete data loss.

When you purchased software before 2020, it will no longer work unless you are on an old Mac OS /Windows version. New Mac OS releases will mainly result in expensive upgrade fees.

When you login into your paragon account, there are two sections - MyParagon (OLD) for products purchased before 2020 and ParagonBox - for products purchased after 2020!

Be prepared, as Mac OS 13 Ventura is in the pipeline this fall. Instead, seek out alternatives!

Knew I wouldn't get much help when I…

Knew I wouldn't get much help when I downloaded Backup & Recovery 17CE, after all it's free. And useless. Used it about a year ago and it worked ok.
New pc and new download in Dec '21. Tried to restore some email folders. Got weird error message. Contacted Paragon, response we don't support free products. But they gave a link. The page says it all.
Now going to look for a backup sproduct that actually works.

I purchased Paragon Hard Disk Manager 17

I purchased Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 quite a few years back and it works really well. I have since gotten a new PC (using the old one as a backup machine) and a laptop.
So I thought I'd get a license for Hard Disk Manager for those 2. I got a mail confirming everything and a link. I went to the link and it asked me for my password. I didn't have a password. Tried using the 'reset password' option and it said it had sent me a mail.
Waited for the e-mail and nothing. Tried a few more times and nothing. The next day contacted support. Got a reply after 2 days from support saying they were using their personal e-mail account to contact me as they hadn't heard a response from me. Which was odd. If someone didn't reply to me my first assumption wouldn't be that my e-mail account was the problem.
The support person tried their best to help, even resetting the password themselves. The next day a burst of e-mails - all at exactly 7:08am - arrived. They were the initial registration e-mail and several of the reset password requests. All had a 2 hour window that started when I'd made the request, so they had expired days ago.
After several more attempts and getting bursts of e-mails at 7:08am after 2-4 day delays with expired registration details I gave up and requested a refund.

Something is wrong with their e-mail server making it impossible for me to log in and download the software.

Die Webseite von Paragon-Software wird sofort von uBlock Origin gesperrt.
Starte ich die Seite von TrustPilot aus, so öffnet sich eine Englischsprachige Webseite, die man auf Deutsch umstellen kann.
Ich habe die Software Paragon Partition Manager 2014 Free im Downloadordner, falls ich das Programm einmal brauchen sollte. Man kann damit Partitionen auf der Festplatte erstellen, löschen, verkleinern und vergrößern sowie Partitionen verschieben.
Nicht mehr der letzte Schrei. Es gibt bessere und aktuellere Programme für den gleichen Job.

Nachdem ich fast genötigt wurde

Nachdem ich fast genötigt wurde, die neue V17.20.9 zu installieren, und die Registrierung NEI funktionierte, und der Support auch nicht weiterhelfen konnte, habe eine Rückerstattung der Version 17.20.9 verlangt.
Die bisherige Version 17.13.1 funktioniert tadellos!!
Wer die hat, soll damit weiterarbeiten!!

zu NFS für Mac
Produkt ist absolut nicht zu empfehlen, extrem langsame Datenübertragung einige 100 MB können bis zu einer Stunde dauern (bei schnellem Stick der unter Normalbedingungen weniger als eine Minute braucht).
Nach Betriebssystem Update ist meine Lizenz deaktiviert und läßt sich bis heute nicht mehr aktivieren.
Kundensupport unter aller S....
Man muss alle Google Spionage Dienste für das gesamte Betriebssystem und immer freischalten - dann solls gehen - absolut inakzeptabel.
Es gibt sehr gute kostenlose Software die das selbe nur besser und schneller erledigt. Ich kann nur empfehlen nichts von Paragon zu kaufen

Licence Issues with Paragon Hard Disk Manager 9.0 Ultimate and Partition Manager 17 CE

Licence issues make Paragon Hard Disk Manager 9.0 Ultimate uninstallable and Partition Manager 17 CE to fail in the moment you need it most: The Paragon Recovery Media does not work.
You can see the error message I got when I try to run my Recovery CD while my computer does not boot anymore: The first lines are in German language and talk about limitations of Partition Manager 17 CE which are of no concern in my case. The last line says "Your software licence to start this product has expired." Why would a CE (Community Edition) licence expire? In very contrast Paragon's website tells you the Paragon Partition Manager Community Edition is "Absolutely FREE for persolan and home use" (see screenshot). This almost looks like ransomware. First, they give you the software for free. Later when you want to recover your system, you need a licence? It is obviously not ransomware. I have no chance to even enter a licence key if I had one. There is no way to provide a new licence to the Partition Manager 17 CE version and there is no licence key needed for the Community Edition. And the error message also does not tell you where to pay for the licence. It is a bug. This software bug makes your Paragon Recovery Media useless when you need it most. And this is not the first licencing issue I experienced with Paragon.
Before I used Partition Manager 17 CE, I had gotten Paragon Hard Disk Manager 9.0 Ultimate (in Germany the Paragon Hard Disk Manager is called "Paragon Festplatten Manager") as part of a software package called "DIE ULTIMATIVE FESTPLATTENSUITE 2010" (this is German and means: The ultimate hard disk suite 2010). I tried to install the Paragon Hard Disk Manager 9.0 Ultimate. However, it was not possible. Before the installation, you need to register online. The registration website tells you, that the registration period has been expired. This is fraud: My package shows no expire date. Therefore registration could not expire. Look at have uploaded. There is no expire date on the package or the CD. It is all in German language. But even without knowing German language, you can see there is no date at all. I also upload a screenshot of the registration page. It again is all in German. Here is my translation:
"End of Registration Period
Dear Customer,
Unfortunately the registration period for your software on this registration page has expired.
A later registration by our service department is unfortunately not possible.
In case you are interested in this or another of our software..."
What a scam. I was not interested in buying any other product of this company. Therefore I opted for the Community Edition. Well, it became an even bigger disappointment, as I have discribed above...
The only reason, why I give 3 stars: I could download another community software. With this new software version, I could restore my backup.

E-Mail-Adresse geändert - Geld umsonst ausgegeben...

Wer bei PARAGON Stammkunde ist und nach einem Neukauf von Software die E-Mail-Adresse wechselt, sollte aufpassen. Hier setzt man Geld in den Sand. So richtig ärgerlich wird es, wenn die Software etwas teurer ist. Aber da gibt es noch mehr Ungereimtheiten, welche sich nicht erklären lassen.

Am 12.08.2020 erwarb ich nach vorhergehenden Angebot im Webshop von PARAGON den "Festplatten Manager 17" (Referenznummer: 234534833 Rechnungsdatum: 12.08.2020 Rechnungsnummer: AKD-73680849129 Preis: € 79,90), nachdem eine frühere Version nicht mehr das tat, was es hätte tun sollen. Mir wurde bei diesem Neukauf auch eine Seriennummer mitgeteilt, welche sich später als unnütz herausstellte, denn die konnte man nirgendwo eingeben. Ich installierte diese Software nicht gleich, weil ich diese erst bei einer neuen Festplatte einsetzen wollte. Ein Fehler, wie sich später herausstellte.

Zwischen Installation am 14.04.2021 und dem früheren Kauf machte sich ein Wechsel des E-Mail-Anbieters erforderlich, so dass ich auch die Angaben in meinem bestehenden Kundenkonto korrigierte. Ich war sehr erstaunt, als ich bei besagter Installation dann nirgendwo die Seriennummer eingeben konnte und die Aktivierung wegen einer falschen E-Mail-Adresse oder falsches Passwort fehlschlug, wobei ich alle möglichen Alternativen ausprobierte. Immer wieder und ewig die gleichen Misserfolge. Als ich daraufhin in meinem Kundenkonto die Ursache ergründen wollte, fand ich dort gar nichts über diese erworbene Softwarelizenz. Bei weiteren Versuchen der Aktivierung drehte ich mich dann immerzu im selben Kreislauf. Eine neue Passwort-Anforderung nützte mir nichts, weil es ja diese E-Mail-Adresse nicht mehr gab, wohin das neue Passwort gehen sollte.

Ich wandte mich daraufhin am 15.04.2021 an den Support von PARAGON (Ticket 384418). In einer über Tage hinweg dauernden Korrespondenz erfuhr ich dann, dass es für mich plötzlich 2 Kundenkontos gab, ein sogenanntes "Neues" und "Altes". Die von mir erworbene Software befände sich im "Neuen". Da hatte ich aber keinen Zugriff darauf und bei erneuten Versuchen der Aktivierung nach wie vor der Kreislauf des Fehlschlagens. Darüber erfuhr ich allerdings nichts in dieser Korrespondenz. Meine Anfrage, diese Lizenz in mein "altes" Kundenkonto zu übertragen, wurde abgelehnt, was ich nun überhaupt nicht verstand. Total verärgert über diese mysteriöse Taktik deinstallierte ich diese neue Programmversion, um Ressourcen zu schonen. Dabei musste ich feststellen, dass sich dieses Programm nicht deinstallieren ließ. Unter "Programme und Einstellungen" schlug es fehl, weil dieses Programm angeblich in Anwendung sei. Ich kam über Tage hinweg an den Rand der Verzweiflung - keine Aktivierung, keine Deinstallation und nur wegen eines Programmes! Was habe ich da eigentlich gekauft...?

In einer weiteren Korrespondenz erfuhr ich dann ebenso nebenbei, dass ich bestimmte Treiber im System entfernen müsse. Auch das tat ich, aber es änderte sich nichts an diesem Kreislauf des Fehlschlagens. Ich wagte daraufhin den Eingriff in die Registry des Systems, was auch mal schief gehen könnte. Radikal entfernte ich alle Angaben von PARAGON und daraufhin auch alle zurückgebliebenen Reste der Installation. Alles war verschwunden und nun wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass ich ein neues Kundenkonto, also ein drittes, erstellen solle, worin mir die Lizenz dann übertragen werden würde. Gesagt - getan und ich erhielt auch einen Download-Link für diese. Die Installation schlug nun aber fehl, weil ich erst die vermeintlich ältere Version von meinem PC entfernen solle. Da ich nichts mehr fand, fragte ich mich, was ich da entfernen solle? Ich war am Ende und die Korrespondenz mit PARAGON auch, denn dort betrachtete man meine Angelegenheit als "erledigt"!

Was soll man dazu nun sagen? Fazit: Ein sinnloses Programm für € 79,90 (heute wird es bei PARAGON für € 49,90 angeboten) und das Geld ist weg! Mal ehrlich: Wie viel Punkte (oder auch Sternchen) ist so etwas wert? Da ist einer noch zu viel! Natürlich habe ich in meiner Korrespondenz angegeben, dass ich mich mit dieser Praxis in Foren und Medien einbringen werde, was aber anscheinend nicht ernst genommen wurde. Ich habe solch eine Praxis aber auch schon bei anderen Software-Anbietern erlebt, was anscheinend neuerdings der große Trend ist. Als Nachweis habe ich diesen Vorgang von PARAGON in einer PDF-Datei angelegt und kann gegebenenfalls diese nachreichen.

I have Paragon Backup & Restore doesn't work

I have Paragon Backup & Restore v. 17.9.3. I have set it to full backup plus 10 incremental backups to run weekly. It doesn't do this. Each time it runs it starts again with a full backup, so my backup disk is rapidly filling up. It has clearly 'forgotten' about last week's full backup as in 'Select a disk or volume only the current backup is shown. Don't buy this software, it doesn't work properly and there is no technical support.

Dreadful support!

Dreadful support!

HFS+ stopped working on my windows machine. I contacted them for help uninstalling as it was no longer working. Each time they would reply with something irrelevant as if they weren't even reading the messages. It's infuriating as it takes them at least 4 days to reply if not longer. They even sent me instructions for Mac despite clearly telling them several times it was for a windows PC. They then sent me the wrong codes for software, meaning another 3/4 day wait. My problem still isn't solved after all this time going back and forth.

The support email and call centre is…

The support email and call centre is for fools to believe, they donot respond on web support, calls or emails. you keep waiting for basic support of installation like NTFS for Linux and you are kept in dark with not even a single response... don't know how OEMs and enterprises are dealing with unprofessional-ism of Paragon guys

Look elswhere wher you are valuded as a customer.

I have been using Paragon since I can remember, probably 2 decades and it’s been OK, but for the past few years things are not the same.

1. I have purchased Hard Disk Manager 17 Advanced and 17 Business and there are some issues e.g. neither copy/migrate OS from NVMe or Sata SSD to equal disks works correctly without some problems.

2. Support is right out horrible. Someone else took over the development and whole company or something else is happening.

I will never will look back I’m done with Paragon Software

This is a ripoff organization - they take your money and deliver no software

This is a ripoff organization. I ordered a $100 Paragon Hard Disk Manager 17. They sent me an email with a product code but NO link to download software and you cannot get it off their website. No is no way to contact them directly. I only get infuriating emails back that the message they sent me "contains everything I need" but again it has no link to download the software.

I am in the process of cancelling the order and may have to go to American Express.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They take your money and give you no software.

Fraud activity

Excellent app. But several hours later my credit card was used fraudulently for several purchases. New card used first time for this purchase and no others. Luckily a Visa credit card so can claim the money back. So not so impressed with their security.

DO NOT purchase ANY Paragon Products

DO NOT purchase ANY products from Paragon.

PARAGON is in violation of international consumer law by holding your machine and information ransom, missleading and misdirecting links for purchase purposefully (charging my account $76 for a link that said the product cost $26).

The software works and will work for some time and then it stops. It re-installs itself each time uninstall is run and will do this for eternity - never allowing an upgrade, re-installation or deletion of the working files.

This is virus behaviour and the company should be treated as such.

My case has been added to existing case-load for this company with the IFC of both Australia and Uk where consumer laws have been violated most severely by the company.

Their customer service is down right disrespectful to thing anyone want to wait 3 days to deal with them ....their software was working then they turned off in hope i would upgrade to their new product paragon cloud Foh....dont use these guys they dont respect their customers ...its a shame i like growing with companies ...sorry about the typos ...
