Great gym, iffy showers
Plenty of power racks for the big weights and cable machines as well. its rare i have to wait for equipment and can just go workout and go back home. I'd wouldn't use the showers there though, they started to give me a rash.

Puregym Sucks
Aircon didn’t work so I was hot
Too noisy so couldn’t focus
Overcrowded so no machines dumbbells ect
No staff so no support when needed
Water fountain didn’t work so no water
People leave weights on wasting my time to take it off

Far too small and the equipment is not placed together for body groups.
Too expensive and will never be back

Lift class
I joined a lift class, having not been in a gym for many, many years was a little apprehensive, I didn’t need to be the gym instructor Dave was wonderful. He was inclusive and very supportive and made me feel very welcome. I’ll definitely make this a regular class

Poor customer appreciation
When I was looking for a gym, I visited PureGym Uttoxeter twice hoping to speak with someone or get a quick look inside. Both times, staff were present behind the desk—just 20 feet away—clearly seeing me, but chose to ignore me. Even when a gym member tried to get their attention on my behalf, they still didn’t respond. I ended up signing up without ever having the chance to visit properly.
Since joining, I’ve noticed that while PureGym advertises a long list of gym rules, the only one they seem to actively enforce is putting weights away—which I was recently “told off” for via email. What surprised me most is that a staff member took the time to photograph the weights I’d left on a machine and send me an email, even though I was still in the gym just a few feet away, finishing my session.
Meanwhile, many other rules are ignored on a daily basis: people leave dumbbells scattered everywhere, others arm-wrestle or hog multiple machines at once, and some spend 30 minutes on a bench just scrolling through their phones. Unfortunately, the atmosphere in this gym feels negative and cliquey, largely due to staff appearing to favour their personal friends instead of maintaining a welcoming and fair environment for everyone.
Disappointed overall, especially with how unapproachable the staff have been from the beginning.

We apologise for your experience with out gym staff and we can assure you the will be reviewed in club.
We do ask that members return their weights after use, to ensure that the gym remains and safe and tidy environment for our members. However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym.
We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team.
If you have any specific concerns relating to this matter, please speak with a member of the gym team where they will be able to assist further.

Nice little gym
Nice little gym, but lacked cleaning materials and I would have thought they would have provided blue towel tissue. Didn’t feel very clean tbh
To add to it, they’ve now stopped me from accessing Uttoxeter saying that my original gym was being done up. That’s rubbish, don’t trust them, as I’ve seen others saying something similar. When I signed up, I signed up specifically for access to both home and Uttoxeter, now they’ve stopped me and want an extra £10 to £34.99

Following the closure period in 2020 due to the National Lockdown, we introduced cleaning stations into our gyms in line with health and safety government guidelines. As time has gone on, we have gradually removed these cleaning stations and in our newer gyms they have not been implemented, helping to support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We continue to ask, as we always have, that members bring with them a towel with them to wipe kit before and after use and where possible, the team will remind members of this. Thanks, PureGym
Spin bike at Uttoxeter hasn’t been…
Spin bike at Uttoxeter hasn’t been working now for almost 6 months. Most recent problem with the bike reported at the beginning of January. Still not fixed. Did pay turns off after a few minutes of cycling and sometimes doesn’t show rpm. One spin bike in a club that size isn’t enough especially when so poorly maintained. Manager said it’s company policy not to get another unless there is some competition in the area from another gym, otherwise they don’t have to. Plus’s they are lucky to have a spin bike in Uttoxeter as Lichfield don’t even have one. Also, whose great idea was it to remove the cleaning stations? Probably some bean counter sitting on the board. A noticeable degradation in the cleanliness of the machines since.

We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible.
If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

Not happy got a email saying they wanted be back (rejoin) don’t me a offer of no joining fee and 30%off but they made me pay full amount

Great gym
Great gym. Being going since it opened, it’s clean, tidy, staff are great, nice to see new equipment like the cross trainer, definitely preferable for HIIT training etc, probably one of the best pieces of kit added from a personal point of view and I don’t think I am alone since there are quite a few who use it now.

This gym was clean
This gym was clean, well organised and had a friendly relaxed vibe about to it. Due to the 24/7 aspect, it also means that I can look forward to fitting the gym in around my daily routines.

Good range of machines
Good range of machines, lack of dumbbells for heavier lifts and no calf raise machine, however very accessible

A good workout …
Classes are always good and friendly instructed by professionals who explain the exercises clearly and provide an alternative if your unable to do an exercise in the way presented, feel good at the end of each class knowing that you have had a good workout,
