I needed this machine for axillary hyperhidrosis. My dermatologist wouldn’t write my prescription because he said this only works for hands and feet, despite claims to the contrary. I should have listened to him but instead I paid the $40 to get the online doctor to write the RX. Because I have sensitive underarms I wasn’t able to get the strength very high without pain, and I don’t feel like it was safe for the current to pass over my heart (plus it made me queasy.) I tried using the paddles on one side at a time to avoid my heart (armpit to hand) but then the process was taking 45 minutes per night, with very little hope of it actually being effective. To return this $750 machine plus insure it, it cost me $50 out of pocket. So this ended up being a $90 failed experiment (hopefully the refund deposits soon.) Axillary sufferers beware. I should have just taken my dermatologists advice and avoided this machine for my own personal needs. I’m sure it works well for hands and feet.

First and foremost, the iontophoresis machine works! For me, it took a little over a week to see diminished sweating on my palms and feet, but now I'm in the maintenance phase and go weeks between treatment sessions! In that time I don't notice any sweating at all where my hands and feet get submerged in the tub. There's still some sweating on the parts that aren't submerged as you would expect.

I had gotten used to life with hyperhidrosis and all the quirks it comes with. I had always found a little work around like having a paper towel under my hand as I write, or wiping my hands before shaking. As a long time climber, having sweaty palms has always gotten in the way. Although sport climbing was my first taste of the sport and my favorite way to climb, I eventually gravitated to bouldering because I could get away with chalking up once before an attempt instead of having an extra battle to fight while on the wall. At the end of the last sport climbing season I decided enough was enough and that I wanyed to try iontophoresis because I wasn't a fan of other treatment options.

I noticed that the first time back in the bouldering gym once I started my maintenance phase, I was chalking up so much less and I could even see the difference on my palms! The chalk itself was still on my hands after many attempts on the wall whereas before there would be NO chalk left on my palms after just one attempt. Sport climbing outside is now significantly improved too because my shoes don't slip on my feet and I can go longer in between chalk-ups which changes the way I approach a climb now.

All this to say I would absolutely recommend The Fischer!

I purchased the device for underarm sweating and I was very optimistic in the beginning of it all. Everyone was responding to questions quickly (trying to get the sale) being very friendly, etc. The device didn’t work for me but that is no fault to them, everyone is different. But when it was time to return it things got complicated. Emails were all of the sudden taking days to get a response to. And when I would get a response it was not very friendly at all. They obviously ask you to ship it back them and that came out to over $25. Affirm then gave me my initial payment back but only partial of my second payment. They said that they have to keep a portion of it themselves. Then I asked about potential reimbursement for the shipping cost but they couldn’t do that either. That is probably policy but if I were you I would just hope this device works because the refund and return process is rocky. I just feel like I lost a good amount of time and money for something that didn’t work.

This machine is a life savor. Worth every penny. I suffered from sweaty hands and feet since I was 13 and has been my biggest insecurity. I was desperate to find a solution- I was even about to do a surgery. I found this machine and my condition improved significantly. It is the best option. There is NO compensatory sweating, it's invasive, and pretty permanent. The fact that I don't have to put any harsh chemicals or foreign things into my body (Aluminum/Botox- the other options), makes me so pleased. Now if I do have any sweating, it's gone much more quickly and is 10x less intense. I use the machine periodically if I have any spurts, but other than that I'm pretty sweat free. I've recommended this to everyone. This is a REAL solution for hyperhidrosis.

The treatments make me feel like I don’t have hyperhidrosis at all—truly life-changing. Have been living with hyperhidrosis in my hands and feet my entire life. Hyperhidrosis had affected my life in all aspects--social, educational, and working life. Was stared at like an alien. Would try to minimize any physical contact with others when I sweating. Had to learn all the tools and tricks, like playing my sweat off as condensation from icy drinks. So not only is hyperhidrosis a physical condition, but also brought severe negative emotions. I am glad to say I don't have to do that anymore. It's not a cure-all, but it is the closest thing! I do maintenance every few days and in between those days, I have "normal"/dry hands and feet. If you have hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet, please do yourself a favor and get the Fischer!

I have used iontophoresis through another company with good results for about 2 years. However, the RA Fischer Company product as well as their customer service is second to none. The process works and it has changed my life, prior to using iontophoresis I would dread shaking hands and wearing open toe shoes. Once I committed to making the treatment a part of my daily routine for about three/four weeks, all of the dread disappeared. I am currently doing one to two treatments a month for sweat free hands, feet, and under arms.

I was recently looking for replacement panels for my ten-year-old Fischer Iontophoresis. I discovered they no longer support my older Iontophoresis, so Dan chatted and worked with me to get the newer model. As I thought about it and used my older machine, my hands stopped sweating, and I realized it was still working well. I let Dan know, and he did not try to pressure me into the new device. He thanked me and wished me luck. When my older machine does need to be replaced, I'll come back and talk with Dan or another representative to get the replacement I need.

Despite a LONG journey trying to get reimbursement from insurance, the effort finally paid off. Aetna covered the equipment in full. My 17 year old has suffered tremendously from hyperhidrosis on her feet and hands. The equipment has been a lifesaver and we've had tremendous success. Only 4 stars as it took constant calls to RA Fischer for updates on the insurance claim over a 4 month period. Would have liked more proactive updates on their part, but it worked out in the end. And for that we are grateful.
