In March my mum went to redkite in Stroud for them complete power of attorney for myself and my sisters. Bearing in mind this cost her quite a bit considering we could have done ourselves but she wanted to go through solicitors, they had written her will too. However, they totally messed up with tour names and the office of the guardian would not accept, the process takes a while. We then had to redo them, in the meantime, my mum became unwell. We were unable to act on her behalf as no POA. She sadly died on August 12th. When I came home on that day the POA was on my doormat, little too late. When I contacted them about the error and how they haven’t provided the service my mum paid for they said they were unable to offer any refund. Really poor professional practice, I would certainly not recommend them to anyone

Absolutely shocking service. You have to constantly request information. They say letters have been sent out by post, but they haven’t been. I found out letters are sent second class,via their Pembroke office not from the Bridgend Office. It was only by chance after contacting the office AGAIN that probate had been granted 3 weeks previously!!!! Stay clear for own sanity.

Wish I'd seen these reviews before attempting to use Red Kite for a property sale and purchase.
Communication is inconsistent, key documents such as the draft contract pack and TA forms were not sent until months into the process.
We expected professional guidance, attention to detail and communication.
This was meant to be an exciting move for our family, but the level of service we experienced has left us exhausted and disillusioned. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a smooth, reliable conveyancing process.

Edit: I've already contacted the compliance email and no improvement

Shocking customer service! as most others on here have said, one is well advised to avoid this company if you value your mental and emotional health.

Sadly wish I'd read the reviews on here before engaging their Carmarthen office to do a discretionary trust deed for us. They quoted a total figure from the start, and then spent 2 whole months processing preparatory docs etc (takes them a week just to reply to each email).
Then after all that time they suddenly revised the costing quote to be 4 times higher than originally!!
Totally unaffordable at this point, and nearly 3 times higher than quotes from 2 other solicitors here!
No apology whatsoever from them, and now my 76 yr old mother is deeply distressed as we have to start everything again! Shame on you Redkite.
And note - the copy/paste replies they give to people on here are meaningless and pointless. If you really wish to make amends Redkite, then you would fix the issue instead of pasting such rubbish on here.

Absolutely terrible. Do not use. Their legal advisor, Sheila Teta is incompetent. They left me in a really difficult situation right at the last minute, I was entitled to legal aid. Then proceeded to tell me that if I paid £200 they could represent me.

Arranged by phone to get a. Solicitor to prepare a simple will for my mother. Required a qualified solicitor and stated this to the person who made the booking and to the person who met my mother.
It transpired some days later that the person who I and my mother met was not a solicitor but an unqualified ' legal assistant '. I could not believe that despite specifically requesting a qualified solicitor and even telling the person who we were led to believe was a solicitor and why it needed to be a solicitor, they carried on and completed the 1st interview knowing this was specifically against our express wishes.
When challenged about this they got defensive and would not acknowledge any issue, in fact I had several other concerns such as unnecessary work that was neither wanted or required.
Fact: My mother never even got to meet the solicitor who had legal responsibility for her will, never spoke with her either?
When I told them that we required answers to our concerns we were handed to another solicitor to complete the will. So no continuity whatsoever and certainly no response to any concerns at the branch level
And to top it all off they stated a £200 charge for a doctor's mental capacity assessment, this was agreed but when the bill arrived it went up to £500 plus the £395 cost of the will made a cost of £895 for a very simple will. Oh and a further charge for a land registry check that wasn't requested or needed. They wanted to check if my mother was a tennant in common or a beneficial tenancy basis with my father.. I had already told them that mum was a widow, dad left his share of Thier home to her by way of a will, I was executor and probate granted. Even the compliance department do not understand the absurdity of checking the tenancy status of a single home owner with a previously deceased spouse, absolute clowns. They still maintain that it was a required check which is so wrong.
I did complain to Red kite compliance but when the person who stated the £200 cost to us both denied she had said this what can you do?
In total 3 persons dealt with my complaint so no continuity there either. It took 10 weeks for a formal response.
I don't think I'm alone in my experience , a careless and unprofessional company who will never be trusted again, shame on you for trying to take advantage of an 89 year old. Appalling behaviour!
Update: The person who my mother met with is essentially an unqualified worker and has no formal legal qualifications, but has quite a few reviews as the 'lawyer' concerned in the reviewers case, I wonder if the reviewers actually realised the person who they were dealing with isn't actually a qualified solicitor?

Weeks have been wasted, when something could have been done straight away. My concerns ignored.
My solicitor who has already been mentioned in the bad reviews, did listen to my defence at the beginning, but when it came to it wouldn't act on them, then when it came to my concerns, even with multiple amounts of evidence.. she wouldn't reply and when she did, she kept either not reolying or shutting me down saying nothing could be done, which isn't accoarding to my new solicitor.
Ive noticed that redkite reply to these reviews saying you're not even a client of ours, or we're sorry you're unhappy with the service etc, what a lame excuse... stand up to these reviews, help them, if you're going to try and defend them, then atleast change your excuse of them not being 'a client of yours' and 'sorry you're unhappy'.
Ive had to wait weeks for a reply, if a reply at all.
Do NOT use this company, especially for family law, stay clear.
Emily was my 'solicitor', she finally sent all my documents to close my case I'm assuming, im assuming cos there was no writing with the documents, not even a reply to my questions from weeks ago.

Had to look for another solicitor while right at the beginning, when something could have been done.
Thanks for nothing but waisted precious time.

In the handling of my aunt's estate following her death, the Red Kite solicitor exhibited rudeness in not responding to repeated requests for updates; failure to respond to a direct questions regarding funeral costs; and utter incompetence by 'sitting' on important documents for over 3 months before sending them to me for signing - thus delaying the distribution over half a million pounds to the recipients of her will, at a time when it could have been earning 5% interest.
Please don't go anywhere near these people - all they seem to be interested in is increasing your bill.

Absolutely awful service that is not fit for purpose. The solicitor, Emily Wales, was so bad that she had to be circumvented to avoid the case going to a final hearing. Over multiple months this solicitor's communication was so consistently bad that she often took weeks, sometimes months, if at all, to reply.

Her attention to detail was horrendous and she failed to read and respond to simple emails.

She added unnecessary stress to all parties involved. and should not be allowed to provide services through legal aid as the service was incompetent and not fit for purpose.

UPDATE SINCE REDKITE'S REPLY:
If you did check your records you'll have discovered that everything i wrote in my review was true.

If you really do take all feedback seriously, and are committed to providing excellent service to your clients, then you'll review all email correspondence between myself and Emily Wales to see how poor the service was and then you'll do what you can to avoid such poor and incompetent service in the future from one of your solicitors.

A friend has used this company for his divorce. Communication is shocking. Very expensive with no clear information about what the charges are for. 8 months down the line there is no sign of the divorce happening. Letter received to say they can’t upload documents so have asked his son to do it ( on behalf of his mother) with no explanation about how to do this. Letters from them are all grammatically incorrect.

Terrible service

I have never experienced so much stress and anxiety from such an incompetent company as REDKITE Bridgend. I had a straight forward question to ask yet I had to pay £150 for a short time spent with the family solicitor. All I wanted was a very simple Will written!, I saw the wills administrator (I have no intention of naming her but she knows who she is) and I was told to write exactly what I wanted, being on a very small pension I used the free will's charity system donating funds to a charity.
The meeting was not very friendly and I was not made to feel very comfortable or at ease, she was very matter of fact which boarded on rudeness the explanations were not very clear and both her and the Family solicitor contradicted each other leaving me even more confused than before I had started.
My will arrived and when I read it I found an additional name had been added and my Grand children omitted altogether then to add insult to injury I was sent a BILL!.
I phoned the office three times and each time I was told everyone was busy and someone would contact me which never happened eventually on the fourth call and explaining I had no intention of paying their bill did I then receive a call back, I was told I had been sent it by mistake and to disregard it (had I not realised and payed it would I have been refunded!!!!) I explained that I was far from happy and the whole fiasco was one big farce from start to finish and that I wished to cancel this and stop it going any further so that I could find a competent company capable of writing a will. I was told I would be contacted within the hour or possibly the following day.... I'M STIL WAITING!... I have now been contacted by someone from head office apologising.

Absolutely avoid this company at all costs. I've had the most stressful 5 months dealing with poor customer service and incompetence. There have been multiple errors that have cost me thousands of pounds and I will be taking this further.

Dursley office is poor, avoid!
communication is poor and replies to emails take weeks if not months. Then they don't even address concerns. I've been treated very poorly by this firm. My legal rights are ignored. They refuse to provide up to date accounts. Very poor solicitor indeed.

Lack of communication. Very expensive fees for simple work, do not trust them with the timing they spend, overcharging for nothing. Avoid

Redkite Stonehouse, very poor communication no responses to emails, calls etc. At the initial meeting the solicitor had not even read the will and was clueless. AVOID !.

A horrible experience when Redkite Stonehouse acted for my mother on a recent flat purchase, only exacerbated by their Ledbury office acting for the vendor. A cash purchase which really should have been done quickly and without fuss. No client care, poor communication, phones not answered, emails not replied to, constant unnecessary delays, no focus, no sense of urgency, insufficient partner supervision. When they actually needed to give some legal advice (right at the end of the transaction after months of delays) it was slow to appear, incomplete and of poor quality. And despite that, they issued an ultimatum: release us from all liability under the relevant statute or we will immediately cease acting for you. The purchase would have been lost. We had no choice. Shocking.

Could not be more unhelpful and incompetent.

We have used them for grant of probate. Communication to us was awful we had to chase constantly to get any information. They were slow to action anything and never responded to letters/emails etc. Gave excuses constantly for lack of action.
Bill was double what had been initially quoted with no explanation. Slow to pay back client funds.
Do not use them would be my recommmendation

First impressions matter tried Cirencester branch, looking for a new solicitor. Said would get someone to phone back, never happened. On trying to phone getting no reply. Not impressed
