Extremely disappointing real estate agency, with Ivo and the so‑called “owner” Bert van der Krogt standing out in particular.
Our assigned agent was not even a trained real estate professional by background; he previously worked for the Hague Tramway Company.

The entire business model operates on a commission-only structure that is not shared within the office. Agents—trained internally by Remax and not certified by the NVM—earn solely from their own sales. This model does not serve the client’s best interests.

In an already challenging housing market, potential buyers were not proactively forwarded or encouraged, simply because doing so would not benefit the agent personally. This fundamentally undermines the seller’s position.

Throughout the sales process we received a stream of excuses about the lack of progress:
“The sun is shining, people are at the beach.”
“It’s raining, so people stay indoors.”
We even had to facilitate open house events ourselves.

Under the supervision of owner Bert van der Krogt, a sale was arranged through our paid media package for a property belonging to the daughter of agent Ivo—sold privately to a third party. At the very least, this felt highly questionable.

After confronting them about this and stating clearly that we no longer wished to be represented by Remax—after three‑quarters of a year on the market—we switched agencies despite multiple threats from Bert.

The NVM-certified agent who took over needed only one open house event to sell the property, and did so in a professional, transparent, and truly service‑oriented manner.

Kathleen MacDowell, very rude. Called her but her attitude just did not do it for me.

Lastweek, I called the RE/MAX reception to inquire about house for sale around Harvest Hills, where a woman answered my call. I greeted her with a good morning, but she repeatedly asked what I said. Her voice seemed distant, and I couldn't hear her clearly. As a result, I decided to end the call and redial again, assuming it was a signal issue only.

Upon hanging up the phone, I immediately received a return call from the RE/MAX reception. The person on the other end sounded disgruntled, accusing me of rudeness for hanging up the phone in a very angry tone.I apologized and explained that it wasn't my intention to disrespect her. We were both having difficulty hearing each other, which prompted me to end the call and try to redial again.

She abruptly ended the call without an apology or even say a goodbye. I am absolutely certain that I was not the rude one in this interaction, rather it was the RE/MAX receptionist or customer service representative who exhibited rudeness.

Broker treated me like I reported to her. Told me I didn't have to have my attorney review the contract--wrong.
I asked her several times not to go over my head, copy me when communicating with my attorney, but she boldly did so.
Had to ask 3x before I got a response if she initiated a short sale--just ignored me.

How do you get through to anyone there, an appropriate person, for customer service?

Is it because I'm Black/woman that she took such liberties & no respect? This is business, not friendship or dating, treat everyone with respect--the 1st time!

Called to rent a $14,000 apartment in west van, SEAN HU's assistant Beijing Liu picked up his phone and we asked to see it at 2 which she said was fine, but had to check back with the owner for some details and call us back after.

Not only did she not call back, when when we called she didn't pick up. I had to call back multiple times after a few hours she picked up and when I asked her about it she said oh they don't allow pets and I asked her why she didn't call back to let me know instead of letting us wait for her, she said oh I have so many calls I don't know who you are, I was waiting for you to call me back.

Her attitude is rude and unprofessional, you would think someone trying to rent out a $14,000 per month apartment would provide better service and attitude.

Just know whoever listed with this team, your apartment could have been rented out today, but because of their lack of service and professionalism, your home will continue to sit on the market.

I'm writing about a Review because i was defrauded by TRENT HEAD back in September 2022. I bought a house from his best friend "Mitch Morris" for 319K in Pines West. The Average Market price was 305K. After 3 years i wanted to sell my house because of financial problems (unemployed). I again had fraud "trent Head as my Agent because i trusted him. We started to list the house June 20th 2025 fro 350K and Trent Head was very optimistic at that time that he can sell the house for at least 340K. The market went down and i dropped the price to 333.333$ to get at least my downpayment of 32K back (10%). Trent Head couldn't sell the house and i terminated fraudulent Trent Head the Contract. Be aware of this man who defraud LGBTQ people like he is. I would never trust him (TRENT HEAD) agin, i would not even trust RE/MAX anymore.

PESSIMI IN TUTTO, nessuna verifica dell'immobile, nessuno controllo della documentazione, nessuna verifica da parte del geometra e neanche delle basilari caratteristiche edili dell'immobile....SOLO INTERESSATI ALLA LORO PERCENTUALE.

Your agent in madrid, Bermejo servicios de marketing y ventas is the worst I have seen. Deceving clients to sign contract which before hand they know its deceving. never again will work with re/max welcome!

Had a lot of issues because Remax didn't pay on time. Definitely not happy with their service.

🔴 Esperienza pessima con Next S.R.L.S. (affiliata RE/MAX)
Dal 23 settembre ad oggi (14 ottobre) ho inviato numerose richieste via email, WhatsApp e telefono, senza ricevere alcuna risposta. Un comportamento inaccettabile e profondamente poco professionale, soprattutto da parte del sig. Gabriele Orlandi, completamente assente nella comunicazione e nel rispetto verso il cliente.
È incredibile che un’agenzia affiliata a RE/MAX si comporti in questo modo: disinteresse totale, nessuna trasparenza e zero attenzione.
Mi auguro che RE/MAX Italia intervenga e verifichi seriamente l’operato di questa agenzia, perché simili atteggiamenti danneggiano l’immagine e la credibilità del marchio.
Assolutamente sconsigliata.

Relax is selling the neighbors house and has an estate sale, have people parking in rhe right of way killing the grass and making ruts, I had back surgery I explained and ruts can gar my back, remax didn't care and said I'm blocking customers, no there is 100s of feet of parking up the street, she walked away and called the sherif which there's nothing they can do, I asked don't you have compassion for me, no.
Rootless all about maximize money at the expense of others, shameful

Sono stata contattata dall'agenzia remax di parma via verdi per la vendita del mio appartamento, non ho trovato nessuna nota positiva agenti inaffidabili per niente informati sula normativa, non hanno registrato il contratto preliminare e hanno tenuto in consegna l'assegno di caparra senza controllare che non aveva i requisiti cioè mancava la dicitura non trasferibile inoltre dopo aver speso una sanzione per l'illecito provocato da loro , il responsabile Damiano Rossi , non si è fatto più sentire, la loro parcella pagata al centesimo, praticamente mi è costato più del doppio il loro "aiuto"a vendere l'immobile, sono una vergogna per la categoria.

Inflan los precios hasta de 20000€ más que otras inmobiliarias y están haciendo que suba demasiado el precio medio de la vivienda en el norte, son unos ladrones y muy agresivos a la hora de captar clientes

La mia esperienza con questa agenzia è stata estremamente negativa. Ho riscontrato una totale mancanza di professionalità: danno l’impressione di sapere già a chi andrà l’immobile, ma nel frattempo fanno perdere tempo ai potenziali acquirenti con false speranze.
Non tengono in considerazione il fatto che una persona possa avere un reale bisogno o desiderio di acquistare quella casa, alimentando invece aspettative che poi vengono puntualmente disattese.
Tutto ciò trasmette la sensazione di scarsa trasparenza e di un atteggiamento poco corretto nei confronti dei clienti.
Non consiglierei assolutamente questa agenzia: la mia è stata una pessima esperienza e spero che altri possano orientarsi verso realtà più serie e affidabili.

Our experience with this agency has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional.

From the very start, the property we moved into was handed over in an uninhabitable condition — the washing machine was broken, the toilet had issues, and the boiler leaked and cut off hot water every couple of days. Despite repeated reports, the problems were never properly resolved, and even their own engineer confirmed that the boiler needed major work.

Communication was very poor throughout. We had to chase them constantly for updates, and promises of responses within a certain timeframe were ignored. Instead of supporting us, they attempted to charge us unfair fees, including “administration & re-advertising charges” — which are prohibited under the Tenant Fees Act 2019 — while also demanding rent for a period when the property was not even occupied.

To make matters worse, during the period they claim to have re-advertised the property, they only arranged one single viewing in 24 days, yet still tried to deduct nearly £500 for advertising.

We approached them reasonably, asking for a fair adjustment given the circumstances, but were met with inflexibility and dismissive replies. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and disregard for tenants’ rights has been unacceptable.

I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for reliable or professional service.

Quedamos con el agente para ir a ver la casa ,, él no dispone de vehículo. ,dice, le recogemos, llegamos al sitio después de una hora de viaje,, no conoce la ubicación exacta de la casa, y cuándo por fin la estamos visitando, otra visita entra para decir que está mucho rato esperando,, le había citado a la misma hora,,increíble , por no decir que piden comisión tanto al vendedor como al comprador.no la aconsejo.
