I had ordered plants from the Secret Gardening Club in October & been pleased with the ones I received. In March, I put in another order, received the email receipt but heard no more. After about ten days, I contacted the company via their "Contact Us" on their web site. No reply. The following week, I tried again but also emailed another link on their web page. This produced a reply saying that they did not deliver to my area which was odd as they had delivered here a few months earlier. Their web site says they deliver to UK Mainland but not N Ireland. I live in UK Mainland. They blamed a glitch in their software for taking my second order & payment but that is hard to believe - someone should have noticed. I did receive a refund but only after my complaint so would not order from them again unless they improve the service.

I bought some plants from here in Spring 2022. One order was never delivered, and despite giving them all the required details five times, I never received a refund. Thieves. Total thieves.

Last year I spent months emailing this company about money they owed me for non delivery of plants. Eventually they sent me a voucher to cover it but as it was now near winter it was no point using it.
I tried it this month and its invalid. I've emailed them twice but have had no reply.
This company is a disgrace and should be closed down

Cardboard box of damaged plants arrived. No delivery note or way of returning! Utterly appalling!

Ordered 4 plants and only received 3, on delivery the plants were out of their pots with compost everywhere, the delphinium has gone in the bin as just did not recover the other 2 plants I have managed to save, they refunded me for the plant I didn't receive but not the amount I paid for it. I will never buy from this company again.

I used this company when it first began, the plants were healthy and very well packed. So several years later I ordered again, my order arrived, upon opening only 4 plants were still in pots, the rest had all come out in a jumble and broken. The box was far too big and the tray in the bottom was not secure, it had obviously been thrown about by the courier. I now have the task of identifying each plant to its correct label. I will not be using again.

One plant was sent completely wrong - I contacted the company a few times via email over a month and only got the standard automatic reply back we'll get back to you - empty words - as they never did. I gave up having better things to do with my limited energies. Its state on arrival was average but needed lots of TLC to survive to flowering, being a campanula they usually need next to no care.
Another plant disappointingly I've just discovered as it comes into bloom is completely the wrong colour - it's yellow instead of bright red - so annoyingly I now have to move it elsewhere in the garden as it doesn't go in my colour scheme in the corner of our decking.
The tiny lavender plant died when placed in the sun - I think it was use to more water.
Only 1-2 bulbs out of 6 flowered & weren't cheap by any means.
The last plant is thriving!!
Overall I wouldn't buy again - I've since found a couple of other fab nurseries online and the plants are much better quality.

I pre-ordered a lavender bundle on special offer late last year. This was delivered last month in line with the rough guidance given at the time of ordering.

They did take slightly longer than I was expecting and I did email the company to enquire as to the anticipated delivery date. The plants arrived the very next day by overnight courier, May have been a coincidence - I don’t know as I never heard back following my email. The plants came well packed and sustained no damage during transit.

I guess the proof is in the growing and having been in the ground for a period of time now, I am pleased with the progress they are making, hence the positive review. £30 for 27 mixed lavenders is a bargain in my opinion.

What went wrong this time? Much the same as always. Still scamming us. I was finally given a voucher (not a refund) for half the amount I was owed. When I used it I had to pay postage despite having the "membership" that should pay postage. Also I couldn't use the voucher with any other offer. Half of the plants were dead or minuscule and three didn't arrive. I was promised a refund with the delivery, but haven't received it after some weeks. I have written to the non-existent Sam and as usual have received no answer. They must be well aware they are taking money for goods they cannot provide.

Great plants at a great price and super fast delivery. You have restored my faith in you!!

I ordered from the secret gardening club before reading the reviews so I was slightly alarmed after reading so many negative reviews. But my experience with them turned out to be a very positive one - Delivery was quick and plants were well package and very healthy. Absolutely great value for money. The only downfall is I’ve not been able to get them in the garden due to the snow!! -but that is an issue that is totally out of the hands of the secret gardening club :)

I am trying to use the Goodwill pass I purchased but the code is invalid and it is impossible to contact them!
Plants only seem to be available on a Monday! Very few plants and now much more expensive than plants purchased from a reputable company.
I don't think they will be able to come back from bankruptcy too many people realize that the Company was bought by the original owners and therefore have no confidence in their ability to run a company.
Its a shame as I thought I would give them another chance but there is no point as they have very little stock. Suppliers are obviously not going to get caught twice.

I bought from the Secret Gardening Club about a year ago and bought some lovely little plants that really bloomed in summer. I bought a mystery box for a relative and they were made up with this too. I do note that 2 of my plants didn't arrive and twice i chased this for a refund and heard nothing. Based on the price I let this go.
After a spell of house renovations I have returned back to gardening. I was shocked to see bad reviews against the company and decided to swerve them for a while. I then decided to buy some plants, just a few, last month to test the water and I have not had any issue. 8 ordered, 8 arrived and they did look a little "meh" BUT that said, it is winter and most plants are dormant. Fast track a week and even without watering, they are coming along great. They are nice and green and well packaged. Service was fast. Would I buy from them again? Yes. Would have been 5 stars had there not been the refund issue ages ago. I am not saying all the negative reviews are substantiated, but it seems a little odd a fair few are reviews from service over a year ago. Maybe they are just new to trust pilot? who knows? But there does seem to be a bad press for a lot of plant firms at the moment, alot from the lockdown era when people demanded as they had more time but logistically companies couldn't cope. My advice would be, if you see something, go for it but just be cautious until you are confident with the company.

Like most people on here, I paid in advance for plants and received NOTHING. Impossible to get an answer from them, even if you can find a way to enquire. THEY ARE CRIMINALS.

Opened the box this afternoon as was out this morning, and took a photo of the box!! No label on saying plants handle with care, and every plant tipped out of the pots and the labels strewn every where . you can not to phone them and then you have to wait for them to get back to you after sending an email, which takes time for an reply.

I ordered a herb gin from this company back in September and have still received nothing from them. They have ignored my emails. Very very disappointed and out of pocket.

This company have failed to send me my complete order. I have received 3 out of an order for 25 plants. Which I received on 17th Feb. My order was placed on 13th Feb. Nothing more. I have emailed them 3 times but no-one has replied. I have used them before and it was OK. I'm very disappointed by their zero customer care.

Absolutely shocking company. Paid for a Goodwill pass, but never received a working code to use it with. Emailed repeatedly, like everyone else and like everyone else, never got a reply

Last year I made a purchase with the company. 3 months later they informed me they didn't have any of the items I had pre-ordered in stock. They never refunded my money. Buyer beware!

I have used this & Lavender World in the past & been happy with the products. When I saw an advert in Dec 2022 for a £30.00 voucher I thought it would be an excellent present for my sister. However I could not download the voucher, having paid for it & emailed for help (no phone number for contact). Despite sending several unanswered emails, I am still & being bombarded by emailed adverts to spend more with Secret Gardening Club & Lavender World. Trustpilot reviews have since confirmed my fears - investigations with Companies House have confirmed that several of the linked companies including Secret Gardening Club ltd went into liquidation in Sept 2022. So why are Secret Gardening Club/ Yorkshire Lavender Ltd continuing to vigorously advertise & their websites remain operational, money is being taken by Other Side Gardening Ltd on 28 Dec 2022 (Director - Samuel William Barnby Goodwill) formerly a director of the liquidated companies and yet there is no contact or goods? I am afraid folks this is a blind alley with someone raking in cash for nothing at the end of it!
