Absolutely no documentation or confirmation about the seg tariff. They pay every 6 months but the process is so convoluted and requires at least 4 different numbers which are obviously not provider. Then you have to log in to some Spanish website and get absolutely no confirmation of meter readings or when the money will be sent.
After 6 months of hello I have finally moved to Octopus but this wasn't the last of their word, as first they didn't transfer my account and I had to call them (obviously they don't respond to emails and the SEG account number is nowhere to be found on the website) and I was told that they don't have my bank account ( I know I had to update my records to even register) and they owe me half of my 6 months. Why? Because despite starting with them 6 months ago (+ about 4 months to set the account) they though I was with them longer so they used lower rates.
Anyways, this was sorted and I was told that processing of my payment will be done in 2 months, yet two months are gone and I haven't heard anything.

1 star is too generous for this company. We are a business customer, been billed for the same period twice, no one seems to understand this simple concept and i have been trying to get the issue sorted since November 2023. They don't respond to emails, takes forever and a day to get through to someone by phone, break the issue down line for line with the agents so it is clear what the issue is, after 1hr 45mins on the phone today (most of that spent waiting in queues) with multiple agents/departments and i am no closer to getting the situation resolved.
Best of it is, when i spoke to someone in November when i originally raised the issue, the agent advised their new system was duplicating charges and SSE were aware of this so a simple email would resolve, how wrong that agent was! As soon as we are out of contract we will be switching to a different company.
Restored power Very Quickly
Repaired my (hard to find) broken underground cable the same day. Had to dig up my whole garden, but repaired it afterwards. Well impressed!
The worst energy company going
The worst energy company going! Over billed me £19 thousand plus & took a few months off arguing before it was deducted from my bill then over billed again a £1000 to which they still owe me back & started the complaint process in November then mid complaint they disconnected my gas supply last week and added a £1000 to my bill for doing this! As they had passed the 8 weeks complaint procedure I have now escalated it to the energy ombudsmen & I was advised to call SSE & advise of me escalating the complaint and was told the disconnection would stay in place! Mad as my monthly usage is between £28 & £34 monthly!

I wouldn't even rate these people I will destroy them if I could. There customer service people are ridiculous not proffesional no resoect to its customers they don't know how to deal with people's accounts I have suffered for four years with them SSE NOW OVO, the worst people and companies on thr planet if anyone one of you are with ovo or sse please get away asap they are bad people I was on thr verge of committing suicide now I'm having issues because I have to get medical help because of these people. They made mistakes and still managed to say they want there money mistakes this companies made. They didn't apologize to me nor did they say look it was our fault and we are responsible so we can do this for you. Nothing like this they did God is my creator and they lost all cases because I made an appeal against and thr funny thing was that they appeared against their own wrong doing and their own faults. This is what they are doing to people do not tell the customer service to deal with ur account they are bluddy mental, they need help they have thousands of people working not one person knows what they are doing. And all can't speak no English they don't know what goes on with account and getting paid for doing nothing they don't reslove issues they make it worse for you. I've struggling to get away from them foe 4 years I'm so trapped they took all my money. I have zero balance and they keep asking for money and don't take of their systems. soon ovo and sse will shut down and all the people will struggle for jobs and that will be good you do wrong to people God will do wrong with you. sse is always shut down and moves to ovo and now it's ovos turn. Bad people bad company word of advice close all ur accounts movies away if ur a a good payer and on time and pay all ur bills correctly and these ppl are troubling you please movie away now.

Worst company ever, I got a little shop and I don't have any gas in the premises but they still send me gas bills every month, even thou I always send them gas metre which is all zero's but they keep sending me bills and threatening me with court papers and all that none sense

Bad enough we get for ed to wait in an hour long phonequeue just to attempta dialogue with an idiot in another continent who clearly cant speak English! But to then be cut off or shouted at by them! Is taking the pi$$ The rude staff have the cheek to raise their voices and create drama just because they obviously have neither the intelligence nor the linguistic ability to provide any useful outcome!! so they default and accuse you of shouting or cut you off!!!! Fed up with this company
Fed up with this company. Out of contract, told to email to get price. Auto response, supposed to contact me in 5 days, nothing.Can;t get any response on any number given, just kept on hold.
Previously had logged complaint about lack of bills being sent regular. transpired they had been using my old address for years,( despite informing them). Complaint letter received 2 years after raising the issue stating it was resolved. NIGHTMARE COMPANY.
They don't deserve even one star
They don't deserve even one star. Took a £505 security deposit in October before they said they would open account. Now end of February and account is still not open. Unhelpful and disinterested on the phone - if you can get through to them. Often on hold for nearly an hour.
Horrible company
Horrible company. Requested for a switch to SSE and it didnt happen for two month. Every time I call they ask me to call next week. When I was done with them and try to cancel the switch, I received an email saying switch is complete. Then receive a bill for 50 euro. But the actual switch still didnt happen as my old pay as you go meter required topping up still or my electricity got cut off. Call them again asked me to call next week. Asked about the bill, they asked me to send a letter to them.
Terrible company!!
Terrible company. I got a bill on a pay as you go meter. Took a year to get to the bottoms of the problem. Threatened with bailiffs. Then for them to realise my had mad a mistake and changed me for a yearly bill when I was pay as you go key meter . This is the 2nd time it has happened. This has caused me sleepless nights and stress. For them to realise they made a mistake. Avoid like the plague!

Dog company. Agree a price. Agree a switch over date…. The they try to pull a fast one and move you over sooner… then on the agreed move over date they don’t do anything… so I was left with a hiked up variable bill due to their lack of proactively.

I was contacted by a rival company to switch to them on the offer of lower prices, which I did. SSE then contacted me saying they could beat that lower price, so I signed back to them…..or so I thought. SSE had never signed me back, and now trying to contact customer services repeatedly is completely and utterly fruitless. They just won’t reply to my repeated emails. Hopeless service.
Incompetent
Our business account has been locked since last year - No replies to our emails since 05th Jan - after reading these reviews and the current experience its obvious they are incompetent, so we are now changing provider! :)
Utterly useless company
SSE runs the District Heating for the Royal Arsenal Woolwich. Thousands of householders rely on them for heating and hot water. There have already been three outages this year. Residents pay an absolute fortune in standing charges and are charged commercial rates - this is absolutely scandalous. Why has this been allowed to happen? And how can we stop this continuing? SSE you and your shareholders should be ashamed of yourselves
When will this Company comply with their own Customer charter
I will make it simple, we had a dispute like so many with SSE, over estimated bills, a long running saga, until we received a bill with an accurate reading in May for energy used up to the date of meter change in late March. SSE took an actual reading of the old meter at that time. The bill was in excess of £7000, quite a hit for a small business. Five weeks later in Late June we received another bill for a further £3000 and a final demand for a total of £10k. 9 days later we were disconnected by the warrant team. Causing severe disruption and a hit to our customer profile.
We offered to pay but were told that the figure had now increased by a further £2600 to include the meter reading taken at the date of disconnection therefore we had to pay £12600 and oops sorry but we would also have to provide a £5200 security deposit or they would not re-connect. We managed to pay the lot by mid August only to be told that SSE protocol clearly state it would take a further 6 weeks to reconnect. Kick a man while he is down this lot are experts.
Power was restored on the 28th September and on the 13th November we switched supplier in order to get our deposit refunded less any agreed amounts for energy used from the period of 28 Sept to 18 Nov.
This is when the excuses begin, sorry you are not showing as reconnected on the national database. Strange we received a bill from SSE on the 1st November for energy used. Next 1st call made in December answer we can see on our computer you have switched but need to get the "back office" team to process the payment for return of the deposit. 2nd Call December. Same response but now we were provided with a case number to follow up and a promise the "back office" team would be in contact as soon as possible. 3rd call late December, response cannot help everyone is on holiday but I will email the famous back office team to tell them to expedite payment. January 3rd 2024 call made and recieved the normal response taken from the cheat sheet but with a new case number so I can chase up the now infamous "back office" who would be in touch very soon. 14th January Still waiting thats a total of 8 weeks to basically confirm a smart meter reading and send a final bill plus refund of deposit.
It is stalling tactics by a very poor energy provider. The reason for the heading, Take a look at SSE management website and the board of Directors with their smile for the camera faces. These are theones who should be put onthe front line of customer service for a week, Then they may revise their customer charter regarding priorities because it certainly ain't the consumers. Doubt they customer service team even look at any reviews as they probably know what is being said about the Company.
Pity they are not in the hospitality or service industry where a bad review can kill a company in this day and age.
What an utterly incompetent Company
What an utterly incompetent Company. Despite CAB and OFGEM sorting them out on my behalf and a letter from the Company acknowledging their errors, they suddenly appear again demanding money when they owe ME money. What does it take to stop this lot trading and ripping off customers? Other feedback says it all. The Government needs to close them down for good and prosecute them.
