Awful, dishonest company. There is no direct email address, which is a big red flag. I’ve been cut off numerous times on the phone. I own a domestic flat, same tenant and supplier for 15 years.... Ver mais

Following my review on 4th June, I have received two more incorrect bills, a phone call, and two emails requesting documents that I have already sent multiple times. Nothing ever gets resolved. The amount of administrative time I have wasted trying to sort out these basic issues is completely unacceptable.

We left SSE Business Energy for a new supplier after 3 years. We've had appalling service to the end with SSE being unable to even provide an accurate or consistent final bill. We have queried the bill with a member of the Executive Complaints team last week but have received no reply to date.
SSE have constantly messaged a terminally-ill former member of our team over the last few days, causing her distress. This despite having asked repeatedly and unsuccessfully to get her removed from their systems
Today, we spoke to Charles in the Accounts team who listened to us, understood the issues and worked hard to remove personal details from the systems. We were both surprised and very pleased. Thank you

I had a power cut on 19/7/25 at 20:23 until 20/7/25 at 15:10 . I was due a payment of £95 as it was over 12 hours.
HOWEVER, SSE said they restored power on 19/7/25 at 21:48 . I like many normal people had gone to bed. They said their engineer did a "walkaround" (of 76 homes apparently) and they had come back on.
I had a more serious fault which meant my power stayed off.
I called on 20/7/25 at 06:29 to tell them I was still off.
they logged it as a separate cut!
and restored my power at 15:10.
I told SSE I was off the whole time but their complaints team are obviously instructed to do absolutely anything but pay out. They fobbed me off many times and wouldn't acknowledge it was one continuous outage for me.
I think if they had dug deeper and spoken to the engineers they could have seen I was off the whole time, but that wouldn't be in their interest so they just sacked me off.
Also they came for further repairs a day later(further proof I had more serious fault) and despite the SSE van being outside my house and me saying good morning to the engineer, he turned off my power without warning. Which I didn't appreciate as my daughter was 1 year old at the time and I needed power to make bottles for her.

I wouldn’t even give this Company a 1 star rating. Atrocious service and extortionate standing charges.. if you are a business customer with multiple meters, AVOID AVOID!

Since December 2025 I have started to receive bills for no reason whatsoever.
I’ve contacted yourselves on your “Social” email address and still no response. A thoroughly incompetent, unprofessional and dishonest company.

Six months ago I moved managing agents, it should have been easy to switch the invoicing address but oh no!
SSE decided to open a new account, leaving over a £1000 in credit on the old account, they have sent me so many threatening letter now.
Myself and my new managing agent have tried to move the credit to the new account. I was told the only solution was to refund me, which should have happened end of April.
More threatening letters, I called up the week to find that the credit wasn’t even raised. I was promised so many time the threatening letters would stop.
Oh so hilarious NOT, I get a threat of disconnection today!
Terrible customer service!

After 3 years of lies miss management of my business account am final done of these lairs and cheats and complete time waste thanks to the Energy Ombudsman for taking over the complaint and kicking SSE into shape and allowing my business to end my contract early form this worse company I ever dealt with from start to finish nothing but lies and more lies the compliant teams waste of space and time sat on their hands for six months and done nothing at all with poor two word email in saying sorry. And the collections team holding my self at fault for not paying invoices I ever had and called a thief a lair and then tried to give money advice on what I should be doing with my money . And then try to sell me smart meter they can put wear the chair man and sit on it ! No one in the company knows what there doing as I now was the case notes for my account going all the back from August 2024 and in the notes I can read on how they drop the ball over looked contact from my self and basic lied to get what they want only to have it all refunded and to say am in contact and not in contact and lied in notes ! In short can go more into detail but will be here for ever do not use this company nothing but liars from mangers who do not come to phone or handle the compliant and no one reads any notes on accounts glad am going with some else. Stay way from this company fully stop nothing but liars time wasters and more they run a bad practice company and it shows so well in there communications. And if any one from SSE reads this review I won't be contacting you though email address you had your chance and you knew what you was doing as complete lairs!

Exorbitant charges, just moved into a new place which was previouly with SSE. Took them a month to switch me over and in that time they charged me £160 basically all just in standing charges.

Another day another issue with SSE! From failing to apply reads to accounts, from producing invoices where reads don't follow on from each other, from failing to complete COTs, from issuing partial credits and creating multiple rebills for no reason, the list goes on! Most of these should be simple task but they seem to have no way to deal with these. Various complaints have been raised after getting no response from the various channel we have been told to contact. From read receipts we see these complaints are being deleted without anyone having the common courtesy to even read them! When we do get lucky and somebody picks up a query they tell us that they have resolved the issues when they have not as they don't understand billing themselves! The amount of hours and time it is costing us trying to deal with SSE is having a serious impact on our business as well as the wellbeing of our staff with all the stress it is causing them! We were promised improvement following the initial issues they had following their software change to Evolve a couple of years ago but are still waiting for this! They should have named their new system Regress!

Terrible customer service, their emphasis is on profit and can’t listen to a legitimate issue that is their fault.
2 hours on the phone (when you eventually manage to get through) being asked a question then being put on hold…time and time again.

Just received a bill through the post for £446524, payment due in 4 days time. Moved to a new supplier 8 months ago.
It is a small family run joiner work shop, we use at most £100 per month.

The worst company, they send 50 letters to your door with money going up and up. I’ve tried to change my energy supplier and they’ve objected just so they can rinse you. To try and get through to their customer service you’re left waiting an hour and they’re helpless. Do not recommend. So glad I got away

I got a complaints handler and what a waste of time he was, a one Steve Davis.
He wrote and told me to disregard the multiple credit notes. WHAT UTTER NONSENSE !!!!!!
Of course I have to take them into account and reconcile them with the invoice to work out the correct VAT to claim from HMRC.
With reference to the back billing to 2023. there has been quite a few occasions where actual readings have been given over the course of that time which should've been a fixed point in time. Including the actual reading given in October 2025 and January 2026.
IT IS DISINGENUOUS OF HIM TO SUGGEST IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN AS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED.
Davis did not behave like a genuine complaints handler all he done was preach the company doctrine and implying it was my own fault for not having a smart meter. Funny thing is the employees of the Post Office defended the Horizon Software against the poor Sub Most Masters. DAVIS 'S CONDUCT TOWARDS ME IS JUST AS BAD.
How do I know he was just going through the motions and trying to white wash what was going on ???
WELL THE REPROBATE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO SPELL MY NAME CORRECTLY
WHY ARE YOU DELIBERATELY PERSECUTING ME ??

Over one year after leaving SSE energy solutions I have received a credit note for £62.34 charges for November 2023. Despite being a credit note it says payment due by 14.4.26. It then says the credit balance is being carried forward and will be deducted from your next bill.
As I am no longer a customer they will find this difficult.
They really are idiots.

sse send me invoice nearly every week is so confusing showing credit then next bill again repeating with different figure when i never pay them any extra only pay what i owe but still this crazy cr bill keep coming .

Got a letter today. Just about my annual price increase, as ya do.
Turns out (I had no idea) we've been paying them £1.50 per letter since they implemented it "a long time ago"
So, rang em up to moan and was told "we did inform our customers" Well, I say not!!
Fact is, she said I had to cancel paper comms "online only" and can't do it on the phone.
Hate these cowboy companies and it's not just for this reason either. Check if you do get letters/statements by mail, you will be charged for them.

Do not use this company. Please use any other energy company at all costs. They have no idea what they are doing, tried contacting through various channels, no one gets back to you. Im sure the CEO is incredibly proud of what they have achieved with this company.

I am still chasing a £300 goodwill payment which they insist on sending by cheque to an address that doesn't exist; an address they've been told is incorrect on about 15 occasions. Today, I sat on hold for 20 minutes after initially getting an answer, only for them to hang up on me. I just love wasting my life...
