I have been taking my car to be serviced by Star Tech since 2008. They have always done an excellent job to keep my car in the best driving condition, and their customer service is excellent. I trust them fully to do a good job and would recommend them to anyone.

We have been using Star Tech since they first set up , originally for Mercedes, then for several of my Minis. The service has always been friendly & informative. Reception staff are really knowledgeable but don't ' blind you with science ' . Courtesy call the day before booking is helpful. Easy drop off & collection as there's plenty of space . I've never had any issues with any of my cars that Star Tech have looked after over the years.

When I bought my car, two years ago, the service history showed that, after Mercedes, most of the car's care and maintainence was by Star Tech. I was pleased with the treatment, I and the car, received last year and needless to say, it was a no brainer to continue with Star Tech, this year. Once again, the care and treatment was excellent and the use of one of the little Smart cars, kept me mobile for the day. On both visits I didn't really meet the guys who do the work on the car but of the people I have met, they are all good, helpfull, knowing people that make up a friendly solid team of professionals. There to help. Particular acknowlegement to Amanda 'Dizzy' Scanlon who most people deal with in the office. Her friendly and efficient approach makes the whole thing more enjoyable. Fast & efficient. Great team in the service reception. Paul looked after me from start to finish. Dizzy was her usual bubbly self. Everything clearly explained. Andy the technician who serviced my vehicle did a great job & explained the faults he had identified with the vehicle.
If you want better than Mercedes quality at a reasonable price Star Tech are the people to go to.

Edit: I’m pleased to report that Star Tech has acknowledged failings on this occasion and provided a full refund. I hope my experience will prove to be the exception rather than the rule. We need good EV specialists!

Like others I was hoping to find a local EV specialist, but Star Tech EV proved disappointing. I booked my Renault Zoe in for diagnosis of a charging fault, but Star Tech's report told me less than I knew already. The recommendation was to replace the car's charge port. Doubting that this expense would solve the problem, I had the car checked by a recognised EV specialist who diagnosed a failed rectifier.

Staff could not be more helpful and friendly.
I arrived early to pick up my car after a big service and was looked after… the car was then completed and returned within 1/2 hour of me getting there

Was looking for a local specialist to look after my car and came across this compamy. I sent a form off requesting gearbox service, engine service and a mot. The reply i received left me surprised. The gearbox service i had bought a service kit earlier in the year as was going to do it myself but get no time, it is a genuine kit from the gearbox manufacturer but was told they dont fit customer supplied items because of insurance ? Fair enough but they did not mention any of the other work i requested just went on about the gearbox and insurance. Needless to say i will keep searching as they are obviously stacked with work to turn others away. Keep going like that and you may not have the work there

The quick and friendly service I received..

Car booked in for major service, staff friendly, thorough and professional. Definitely rate higher than Sandown! Only let down was a car wash not included, disappointing for almost £500.

Chose Star Tech as my 4.5yr Tesla was out of warranty; wanted to support a local EV specialist. Turned out they were not really specialists - I returned to Tesla who charged 1/2 the cost (£140 less) to diagnose the issues; Tesla charged nearly half the £2,500 quoted to remedy the faults found and were more easily able to source parts. Tesla hourly rates maybe higher but they are much more efficient and knowledgable. All in all a very disappointing experience with Star Tech that I will not be repeating.

I was struggling to find a garage that could replace the low voltage battery on a Tesla that I had just bought second hand. I couldn’t get Tesla to do it because they won’t work on a car until full ownership has transferred, basically when you get the registration documents back from the DVLA.
Because of this I was ok with paying the expensive quote that Star Tech had offered me. I thought I was paying for their expertise.
The next day after the battery was fitted the warning light came back on the screen to replace the low voltage battery. I contacted Star Tech and they immediately said “you only asked us to change the battery”. They suggested that I bring the car back and pay for them to do.

I’m editing this review because they have finally responded to my complaint and given me a full refund.

Avoid this shambolic organisation at all costs!
They crashed my elderly fathers camper van through total incompetence while retuning it. Took weeks to then collect and take responsibility for their own actions. Then held onto the camper for nearly 6 months while they argued with their insurers despite being 100% at fault! All the time preventing use of the vehicle. Having finally completed the repairs the icing on the cake is the battery has now gone flat and they expect the customer to have to come and collect and resolve despite the fact that they crashed and collected and vehicle with a fully working battery.

Rotten from the top to the bottom, no accountability, no leadership, and ZERO customer service! You can't even trust them to repair the damage they have caused. If you are in need of repairs or servicing literally go anywhere else instead of Star Tech.

Great service for my recent MOT, apart from initial hiccup whereby my appointment was amended by you on the day due to staff shortages. This was a shame as I had taken a day off work to be at home but I appreciate that sometimes there are last minute unforeseen circumstances that happen. Nonetheless, overall it feels like a very professional service.

Company was quick to arrange a booking and a user car was available. A very impressive and professional set up. The issues and problems I was experiencing with my car were discussed / explained in great detail with a range of options available to rectify the matter. Customer Care / Service was exceptional.

Slightly more expensive than some garages but are truthful and will not find extras

Good communication have been using Startec for some time, service good and comprehensive report for the car

Curtious staff, kept me informed,ordered parts require, kept to agreed timescale for repairs.
