We visited Stewart Longton Caravans, Chorley branch earlier today. I had asked them to widen the awning channel to accommodate our Isabella awning. We were deal with by "Paul", who went above and beyond to ensure that our issue was dealt with efficiently and our "divorce in a bag" was resolved.

We recently bought a new Swift Challenger from this company. They gave us a good valuation on our trade in, which they honoured after inspection. The staff were curtious and professional throughout with a relaxed sales environment which made for a very pleasant experience.
On collection of our new caravan Neil took us through all the features and functions and helped us get on our way.
Shortly after leaving my vehicle had a major issue and we could not continue our journey. I contacted Stewart Longton Caravans to see if they could help. They very kindly came out and took us and the caravan back to their dealership. Not now having a vehicle to tow the caravan, they arranged for our caravan to be delivered for us at a very competitive price. I can't thank the staff at Stewart Longton Caravans enough. This Business definitely went the extra mile for us!

Firstly.... I was looking for a caravan with a specific in mind. Not for a day out at the expense of a salesmans time.
I haven't been to longtons for some time and I wont be returning. Im not new to caravaning, ive done it for years as a child and adult alike.
Ive toured through France with a caravan and wanted to do it again. So after a break of 5 years because of health issues im looking for another caravan.
After arriving at Longtons I was approached by a salesman wearing a bob hat, who asked what I wanted. I was specific.... I wanted single axle side island bed, preferably 8 foot and would consider anything from 2018 and even an end island if the layout worked for us. I mentioned we had just visited Campbells and was surprised by a brand new caravan that gave us what we wanted with a brilliant warranty. He gave his opinionion of the caravan I had seen (which was derogatory)and also of the salesperson at Campbells. Indicating they operate with pressure selling techniques. That wasn't the case! The gentleman at Campbells couldn't be more chilled. I had to ask him for contact details and he gave us all the time in the world to compare and discuss amongst ourselves. (Lovely bloke)

The longtons salesman, showed me a caravan, but I didn't enter as it wasn't wide enough and didn't fit the criteria I gave him. He then suggested twin axle caravans and asked why I wanted single axle?
He went on to say he couldn't see why anyone touring in france would have an 8 foot wide van, because access was restrictive for them. I reminded him of the fact that all hgvs are 8 foot and beyond, Also the motorhomes they sell are 8 foot also. He said hd didn't know. I asked if he had towed a caravan in france and he said yes. So if he had, surely he would know it was twin axle caravaning that was discouraged, especially in peak season. Some sites not even allowing them at all....... so why push a sale for something I clearly didn't want? He then showed me a swift caravan.
His voice got increasingly higher as I mentioned the skylight cracking in hot weather. I was just interested in a definitive answer, as he was showing me a swift at the time and I had read it was a problem. His tone was almost like I had insulted him and said it was the fault of the owners not using the blinds correctly. I asked In all seriousness how he operated a blind. He said it shouldn't be fully closed and said so in the manual. I calmly suggested that majority of people wouldn't read a manual end to end.... its usually for references. He got louder and said they gave a introduction at longtons so people knew. He said others just hand you the keys. So all our customers know! I said fair enough, but I had been advised by dealers in the past to close all window blinds in storage and sunlight to keep van cool and prevent upholstery fade and damage. He said they were not silver coated to reflect heat. I commented my last caravan was. I said if there was a problem and it was so simple to rectify, why did swift not change the blind to a defuser and remove tge silver coating, That way the problem wouldn't occur. He then went on the attack at me saying why would I consider a caravan without alde heating. "You go up not down" he quoted. I said the use i intended, hopefully i wouldn't need heating. But I also said it was less to go wrong and an item that wouldn't need servicing. (Advantages and disadvantages i suppose) he explained they never went wrong, like the heating in your house! I explained my neighbour had one that went wrong on his new van and told him of the pumps constrction. He said that was the older type caravans and lunar hadn't made vans for 10 years. He showed me another twin axle, 2022. "Guess what"! it had the same heating set up and pump as the so called old lunar my neighbour owned. The salesman said there must be another pump somewhere!
At that I left.... The misses had already asked for the car keys and escaped to the car.
So if you want to be shouted down for asking questions, told absolute rubbish and offered caravans that don't suit your needs. You know where to go!
I wanted assistance to buy a caravan. I didn't want an argument and I would of willingly left him in his own bubble of self belief. But I was insulted, by the way he spoke to me and the way he conducted himself. I've worked in the vehicle and plant maintenance industry for years and I have a good idea how things as simple as a caravan work. I think he thought if he raised his voice, I wouldn't challenge his explanations.
Everyday is a school day, if he knew his stuff I would willingly listen. Thats how we all learn. But this guy was not a tutor!

Cowboy's they lie and tell you you have damp they actually act like gangsters

Bought a campervan from Mark & Chris at Stewart Longton and their service couldn’t have been any more efficient. From the moment we walked into the store to the moment we drove our new van from their showroom, we had nothing but helpful and positive interactions with them both.

The van was fully valeted ahead of our pick-up and after a very thorough demonstration from Mark on how to set up the van, off we drove for our maiden voyage to The Lakes.

Great experience all round!!

Customer service is awful you can never contact the service department and it just rings.

I purchased a caravan just over a year ago, may 2024, I always right reviews at least a year after, this gives you a true perception on how good the company really is, on the day of collection, the faults we had listed were not done, so we arrived at 10am ish but didn’t leave till 1pm, ok deal with that they were busy, our salesman was dealing with another couple as well has the 1 for us was off sick, so didn’t get a full explanation of how things work, anyway had the caravan serviced end of April this year, to find it has damp near the wheel arch, rang Stewart longtons to let them know, as it was under warranty, 1 year Warranty included, they said yes we will fix the problem, great, but you will have to bring your caravan in for a damp test, £75+ vat, which I will have to pay for, I was taken a back has it had a damp test by an ncc approved workshop to find this problem, but I have to pay for a damp test, that’s like buying a car under warranty and saying to the customer we will put it on a diagnostic machine to find the fault but you will have to pay for the rest, you would not be happy, I couldn’t get a day off in the week so I could take it up on a Saturday then collect the following Saturday then if it is warranty work they would then order parts for me to take it back again, leave and collect when ready, that’s 4 round trips from Derbyshire to Chorley, approx 2 and half hours each way, the service engineer also told me the tyres needed changing as they were over 7 years old, when I asked longtons about this they said, it’s only a guide, so if the tyres look alright there is not an issue, we will send the caravan out, so check the tyres, apparently they have a date stamp on them, also on the service/ pre delivery inspection sheet when it said damp test they put n/a, why, because they only check for damp when the van comes in, so just be aware when buying from this company go fully prepared, damp meter even if it’s a cheap one, check everything before you buy, caravans are not cheap, mine was a Bailey Cartagena 2018, and with the caravan and awning etc we spent approximately £22000, so when people say there customer service is second to none, they are right, they are second best and there is none, obviously I would not go back or recommend

We bought a new to us caravan today which we are delighted with it is in immaculate condition and was spotless when we picked it up. Neil was very knowledgeable and helpful, the pickup went very smoothly.
We will definitely be back and would recommend Stewart Longtons everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Re customer service
We purchase a brand new caravan from this company in November 2023.The sales department were excellent and couldn't do enough.That where it ends.The caravan needed some warranty work.Six months later it has gone in for said work and have now been told(denied of course) that it may be in the workshop for"several weeks"I appreciate that parts need to be ordered and workforce is limited.What I dont appreciate is the total rude,obstructive, defensive way we are dealt with. It is our customer right to try to find a resolution and to speak to a manager if that's the case.I do not appreciate being told that his behaviour is as a result of mine.
I feel it is more important to have a robust after sales service as problems inevitably happen.This is not the case with this company and I would think twice before purchasing simply because of the obstructive behaviour of the service department,backed up by general manager

Purchased our new to us caravan from Chorley in February 2025.
Everything ran smoothly our experience with Neil was excellent and all the staff we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable.

We've had our 2nd hand caravan from Stewart Longtons for just under 12 months. All issues have been dealt with swiftly and fairly.
We can not thank them and recommend them highly enough.

In August 2024 I bought a, new to me, 2018 Bailey Phoenix caravan from Stewart Longton Caravans, Chorley. The caravan was very clean and appeared to be in tip top condition. A 12 month warranty came with the purchase of the caravan.
After an overnight stay in the van I noticed a few, mainly minor, snagging points. I got in touch with the service/warranty department and told them about the issues. They quickly put my mind at ease and after sending a few photo’s of the problems the parts needed were ordered and a date, suitable to me, was set for me to take the van in.
All but one of the issues were quickly sorted at no cost to me.
The remaining problem, an external leaky water pump, was quickly resolved with a replacement pump being sent to me.
The aftersales service that I have received has been excellent. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Stewart Longton Caravans to anyone looking for a caravan.

I recently purchased a caravan from Stewart longtons and from start to finish an excellent service as we where beginners and didn’t really know what layout suited us but the sales team took time to show us round different vans and show us what layout suited us the best and then on day of collection ran through every aspect of the van for us and the shop team showed us all the basics we will need and showed us around some awnings and we got a brilliant deal on a brand new vango air awning
