I prefer face to face communication so…
I prefer face to face communication so it was difficult for me to do everything via e-mail. The amount of information I received overwhelmed me a bit and I resorted to going to the estate agents for assistance. They were great and made the process a lot easier for me. That said, I appreciated the assistance I got from Taylor Price-Cohen and Georgie Blackford who were both patient with me. Thank you to everyone who worked on my house sale and I appreciate the fact that it was a fairly fast process.

Extremely disappointing service, poor communication and a stressful house purchase.
I used Talbots Law to handle the purchase of a house through a concessionary sale from my father. I started the process on 30th May and didn't complete until 14th October. What should have been a straightforward transaction turned into a lengthy, frustrating and stressful experience.
During the process, I had two different solicitors working on my case, with one leaving the firm halfway through. I was repeatedly asked to complete the same forms multiple times, which made me question how well my case was being managed.
The biggest issue was the lack of communication and the impact the delays had on my mortgage offer. My mortgage offer had to be extended twice during the process, adding unnecessary pressure and uncertainty to what was already a stressful situation.
I regularly struggled to get answers to basic questions. My calls went unanswered on multiple occasions, and when calls were returned, it was often by someone else who couldn't answer my questions. Emails were frequently sent on Fridays, meaning I would have to wait until the following week to get clarification. On other occasions, my calls simply weren't returned at all.
I also found some staff members rude and unprofessional. When you're paying for a solicitor to handle one of the biggest purchases of your life, you expect to be treated with respect, kept informed and given confidence that everything is progressing as it should. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.
To make matters worse, the app provided by Talbots Law wasn't kept up to date throughout the process and is still not updated even after completion.
From start to finish, the service fell well below my expectations. The repeated paperwork, poor communication, unanswered calls, change of solicitors and delays that resulted in my mortgage offer being extended twice made the whole experience far more stressful than it needed to be.
Buying a house is stressful enough without having to constantly chase your own solicitors for updates and answers.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Talbots Law. Based on my personal experience, I would struggle to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional conveyancing service.
