Visited the kiosk in Morrisons Exeter on three occasions for dry cleaning and a watch change. On each occasion I was told they couldn’t fulfil the service because the person working there wasn’t fully trained - this was the same person and 3 months apart! Absolute joke, there’s no point having someone there who can’t do anything!!?? At least I was told I could drive to another store! 🙄

Complete rip-off merchants. Quoted £24 at Tesco, Durham to cut 3 standard keys, all the same pattern. Said "no thanks" and walked out, went to an independent and got them done for half the price. Timpson is a millionaire virtue signaller, proclaiming "we pay all our taxes" in his shops. He can afford to when he's charging such extortionate amounts to cut keys!

Whilst at Sainsburys Richmond I noticed a Timpson shed in car park. Been needing a new watch strap for ages. The assistant who was exemplary in his customer service showed me a selection. The one I chose was full leather ; it was fitted in minutes and was £14.90 ... real bargain. They also do car keys... mine would be £300 direct from Abarth, Timpson can do it for £150 .. I shall return! Very impressed , highly recommended.

I had a horrible experience at the Faversham branch a few weeks ago. After multiple back and forths, the key cut for me was not working. The staff member in the store suggested I get my locks replaced (there is no need to do that as I have two working sets of keys..) then started shouting at me very aggressively in front of the whole store, literally going from 0 to 100. He is a vile angry man and it was intimidating as a woman to have to face that behaviour in order to get a refund (which he initially refused) - why would they employ someone like this I wonder.

I used Timpsons in Alloa mill street this morning to print 10 photos the Gentleman in the shop was excellent and did a great job in helping me and explaining the process I have used this place over the years and have always had polite courteous helpful service but this morning was exceptional

I attempted to cut a particular key three times! Two times they tried to use keys in stock which were not right third time decided to order a key which eventually arrived but only 3 copies when I had requested four eventually fourth key arrived but again the keys were not right as they looked nothing like the original. This saga lasted over a few months poor customer service throughtout. Eventually I asked for a refund but will not be going back

Used them to have a new battery fitted to my Apple Watch. Much cheaper than Apple and incredibly quick and efficient. 100% recommend this service

Attended at Timpson based outside Asda, Wrexham, as I wanted a spare key cut for my motorbike. I informed the staff member that my motorbike does not have an immobiliser so the key does not require any coding and in principle is no different to standard house key.

Timpson quoted me £35 for the key to be cut. I deemed this ridiculously overpriced and went to a nearby independent key cutter who cut me a new key for £8!!!

Handed in a duvet for dry cleaning on Aug 28th, paid £25.99, was told it would take a week to 10 days and I’d get a text when ready. Two weeks later I was in Morrisons Ilkeston where the concession is located, asked about where it was. Was told their keyboard wasn’t working properly and no point in phoning as it was Sunday. I called on the Monday, told it was taking 2–3 weeks. Called again on the 18th Sep, was told they expected it on the 19th. Called again on the 21st Sep, fobbed off yet again with some excuse about the hub having had an influx of duvets. Clearly they’ve lost it, and don’t have the customer service skills to do anything helpful to resolve it. Which other company takes a month to do your dry cleaning? Don’t use this one. I expect an argument in store over a request for returned fee and compensation.

Follow Up on 24th Sep
Contacted customer services on line making a formal complaint. They responded quickly that morning requesting a picture of my ticket, then confirmed it had indeed been lost. After providing details such as when purchased, type of duvet and cost of replacement they agreed to satisfactorily reimburse me, so in the end this was a good result. Better service from them than from the employees in the concession, all credit for speed of response and fairness in resolution.

I'd bought a battery for my car from timpsons after a week it stopped working a week later!!!
I complained to my local timpsons store I explained I had to buy a new battery because I was stranded there was a lot of he said and I said which we won't go into!!! But the gentleman who worked at timpsons rang a colleague and I got a full refund so thank you timpsons 5 ***** for the service

Winston who works at the Loughton branch is an asset to the company.

He is loved by everyone because he is brilliant at his job as well as being amazingly friendly and kind.

Last week he was on holiday and he was missed so much. Some customers waited until he returned for their shoes to be repaired!

The world needs more people like Winston!!!!

I recently used Timpsons postal watch repair service.
To say I was delighted by the service is an under-statement.
The communication and speed of their operation was amazing.
I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I had to contact you because I have had such kind service from April at Sainsburys Timpson office at Burpham, Guildford. She was so very helpful with my mobile phone and deserves praise.

Recently visited Timoaons at Princess Alice Retail Park in Sutton Coldfield.
The service offered by Tony was absolutely great, he was polite and really helpful.
As it was only a small repair I needed, Imanaged to carry it out immediately, so I didn’t have to come back,
Would highly recommend.
I usually use this Timmons, and can’t say I have ever had anything other than great service, but this visit was exceptional.

Absolutely terrible. My son’s Xbox had a damaged HDMI port. Sent off to Timpsons for a simple repair. They had it 5 weeks, and sent it back in a worse state than it went in. Wouldn’t even turn on when we got it back. Absolute joke.

Great experience using MusicMagpie at Timpsons. The staff were polite and patient while my phone took longer than expected to reset. Payment was quick, the whole process was so easy, and it was nice not having to worry about my phone getting damaged in the post. No quibble for full value grade A.

In July 2026 I took a 35 year old Seiko digital watch to Timpson in Woking (opposite the O2 store) as one of the control buttons was missing. Your colleague, Jacob, arranged for the watch to be inspected by your workshop staff. It transpired that they couldn't repair it and returned it to the store. Regrettably, I couldn't collect it promptly but was prepared to learn that the watch had been disposed of. No real problem there. On 19th September I visited the store and discovered that the watch had been stored safely and the matter was resolved at a very modest cost.
I was extremely grateful for this and Jacob's helpfulness and politeness. That said I've always found staff at the above-mentioned store helpful, courteous and professional.

I have twice emailed a complaint with Lord James Timpson, Timpsons Supermarkets CEO with regard to recent unsatisfactory customer service I have received from Timpsons in Hull Kingswood, Asda, Kingswood Retail Park, Althorp Road, Hull, HU7 3DA.

On Wednesday 2nd September 2026 I visited Timpsons branch in Asda, Kingswood and spent a total of £140.00 on watch repairs, which for Timpsons is a significant sum of money.

I returned to collect my repaired watches from the said Timpsons 3 days later on 5th September 2026. My Seiko watch, which I submitted for repair on 2nd September, which I was informed could not be repaired, was presented to me in a small plastic pouch in such a way that I was led to believe that the watch remained in one piece. When I got home, to my shock and dismay, I discovered that the watch strap had not been reattached to the watch, and, to make matters worse. As I had presented this watch in one piece on 2nd September, I was very disappointed to find my watch in this unsatisfactory state.

I have a collection of watches left to me by my late father which require repair. My plan initially was to take these also to Timpsons for repair. I was also planning to get a spare fob for my 2nd car. Given my adverse experience at this said Timpsons branch, I will not now do so. Thanks to Timpsons I have to now pay for my watch strap to be reattached, as they failed to do so.

When you walk into a Timpsons store the wall is adorned with a message 'on high' from Lord Timpson himself, stating that he has authoeirsed his employees to do whatever they need to do to provide the best posssible customer service. I've out this to the test, by contacting Lord Timpson himself. Disappointingly, to date he has not had the common courtesy to arrange for one of minions to acknowledge my email. It would seem the displayed pledge is no more than window dressing.

I will not be providing Timpsons with anymore of my custom. i would advise others to think twice before taking watches to Timpsons.
