Wrong name on the request
I put my name down instead of the wife’s and obviously it bounced back, I then spoke to someone called Danny at the call centre who was amazing and updated the file, and we got our exemption the next day. Common sense prevails.

I had to renew my Blue Badge application but it kept saying I was trying to download a file too big resulting in me ringing TT2 for help. A young lad helped me through & sent me an email which would accept my application. Being a crusty old git I would have been lost without his help so if there is anyone in the office reads this then please accept my thanks

Just renewed my Tyne Tunnel blue badge exemption and it couldn't have been easier . A reminder 4 weeks before it was due and a link with the easiest of instructions to renew my pass it couldn't have been simpler and due checks by TT2 and my pass was renewed well before the old one ran out . Simple online process to renew my permit which took a few minutes.
Rapid turnaround by Tyne Tunnels, just 4 days, to process my application.
I've had a permit for 25 years without any renewal issues at all.

Less than 24hrs to pay or you’re fined !
My biggest negative thing with the tunnel is , you have got less than 24hrs to pay or receive a penalty , now as someone who has only used the tunnel once, I find this infuriating , they have in their wisdom removed the toll booths so you can no longer pay as you drive , but come on this does not give anyone any leeway in case it slips their mind , 7 days would be far fairer

We are sorry to hear about your experience. When traveling through the Tyne Tunnels a payment for toll is due by midnight the following day. The timeframe for payment is set in the Tyne Tunnel Bylaws, which are governed by Central Government. This timeframe is set to encourage the lowest non-compliance rate possible.
