Terrible experience.

I was robbed in London on the morning of the 8th of April. I had my phone and bank card stolen. I was on holiday and was due to return home that day.

I called into the hackney branch to try and get a replacement SIM at 9.30am. I had my driver's licence but no bank card which they told me I required.

I received no help whatsoever from the two members of staff there. I explained the situation, I had no access to money, travel documents or contact numbers. I had my licence with my name, face and address and despite the severity of my situation the staff showed no empathy or even interest in what I was telling them.

I then called at the Angel branch and explained the situation. I was immediately reassured by the staff there and within 40 mins had a replacement SIM, I purchased a new handset and was able to access money, documents and travel home.

Appalling level of service at hackney, borderline rude, utterly useless experience.

Don't bother unless it's an easy fix for these guys.

I’m really sorry to hear about what you went through, especially given the circumstances of being robbed while travelling. I completely understand how distressing that situation must have been, and I’m sorry for the way your visit to our Hackney store made you feel.

While our stores do have identification requirements in place for replacing SIM cards, I appreciate that this was an exceptional situation and that you were already under significant stress. It’s disappointing to hear that the service you received there lacked empathy or reassurance, and this isn’t the experience we want any of our customers to have.

I’m really pleased, however, that the team at our Angel store were able to support you quickly, get you connected again, and help you safely access your essentials and travel home. I’ll be sure to pass on your positive feedback to them.

Not only did they do a great job, but they were so lovely to speak to as well. This is my go to Vodafone to go to because the customer service is just so great. Would definitely recommend this branch to all
