Do not buy from Western Digital!

Ordered a product from WD. After several weeks they couldn't tell me when it would be delivered so I cancelled the order. They then decided to deliver the order and charged me for it. I now have the headache of returning the item to get my money back and their customer service couldn't care less. I'd never ever buy anything from them again.

Have one MyCloud Home less than 2 years. Stopped Working. They dont retrieve data. Only replace the product for a new one.
Lost all my data!

Se cerchi un posto sicuro per i tuoi file scegli WD

Western Digital, il top a livello mondiale se cerchi un dispositivo di archiviazione devi scegliere WD per forza, non vado neanche ad elencare tutti gli hard disk che posseggo di questa marca, dico solo che tra wd blue, red e diversi mybook non ho mai avuto un solo problema, sono ormai 15 anni che utilizzo WD, tera su tera di file e mai un problema a differenza della concorrenza...

i purchased a 2T passport external hard…

i purchased a 2T passport external hard drive. i hooked it up to my laptop. i downloaded documents that i wanted to remove from my laptop. two days later i tried to access the passport hard drive and couldn't. after a long go around with WD, they told me i would have to send it to a third party to retrieve my very important documents, including business and tax documents. i was quoted between $900.00 and $3,800.00, that i am expected to pay for using their product for two days. unbelievable! i am filing a small claims suit against them tomorrow.

You will lose you data if you buy WD products!

Do yourself a favor and never buy anything from this company. WD's programming error left their storage drives vulnerable to hacking and they only allowed requests for data recovery for one month! And they are offering a rebate so we can buy more of their vulnerable products and lose more data. What a joke! Shame on them for not standing behind their products.

Sad really...

Sadly, I must agree with this long list of negative reviews here.

Got an email from them saying my NAS is now dangerously unsecure and I must disconnect it from the Internet immediately. Few days later, got an email offering me 40% discount off a new one in a trade-in. Against my better judgement I shipped my old one to them (at my own cost) and ordered a new one, which was due in "2-3" weeks. 3 weeks passed so I contacted them via online chat. Was initially told the product had shipped and UPS had messed up...then the story changed and it hadn't been shipped and the product wouldn't be in stock for another 2-3 weeks. I said I couldn't wait, suggested plenty of logical solutions, none of which could be implemented by their CS. Requested a callback from a "superior" (what an awful term?!). Didn't happen. Requested it again and this time, "Aris N" called me and said the CS team don't really know what is going on, he'd look into getting my one form a different "stock inventory" but that I needed to give him "12-18 hours" to find out. If not, they'd potentially send me a different product. Great, I thought. 2 days later, having heard nothing, I chased. Promised another callback - didn't happen. Chased again - same promise, didn't happen. So, here I am....given them m money, sent them my old NAS...can't really seem to do anything about it. Would never have agreed to it if I'd known I would be without a NAS for a month+. You can;t take peoples' money and not send the thing you agreed to send. It just doesn't work like that WD....

you don't get what you pay for

ordered a nvme drive received a my book according to there website its worth more than the original order but useless to me they told me to return it for a full refund but they would need to send me a shipping label as I wouldn't have a return label for the wrong product , all I can say is still waiting for that shipping label and if you read this post in a month ill still be waiting for a shipping label would never use again you have been warned. Thought I’d be ok because I have payed by PayPal but they fudge the address so no refund either as PayPal filed in there favour because of the address difference (very clever trick on there part clearly done it before in my opinion)
Update after going to action fraud I was able to change PayPal’s mind but that’s how hard you will have to work for a refund.

Horrible experience with this company

Horrible experience with this company. They charged my debit card 3 times for one order. Had to call them 10-20 times to get it straightened out. Avoid this company they are fraudulent! Reported to the BBB also. Do not buy anything from this scandalous company!!! They say they will contact you and never actually do it’s a terrible company!!

DO NOT BUY WESTERN DIGITAL

Do not buy any western digital product. This is why. They build (inclusive of software) poor products that can be hacked AND CANT BE PATCHED!!!! effectively you may be buying a paperweight or, worse yet, a doorway to thieves to steal your data or more. Google the My Book Live hack (read the extremetech.com article) and then read MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE below

SO Western Digital sends me the email that I have one of the devices at risk. Please submit a support ticket with the serial number to be sure. I do. It is. I get a measly coupon offer for 40% off one of the other middling NAS drives. I ask if they’d give me 40% off an SSD drive too as I needed a larger one and thought maybe fit my trouble they’d say yes. They were 100%?silent on that part of my ticket. Then they send me an RMA number with instructions to ship it back. I ask where the shipping label is and, get this, I HAVE TO PAY THE SHIPPING COST FOR THEIR SCREW UP!!!!
I’m sure the executive in charge of the division that screwed this up is trying to keep replacement costs low to protect their big bonus and screw the customer.

I CANT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH THIS IS A CRAP COMPANY WITH A CRAP PRODUCT AND CRAP VALUES AND CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE. THERE ARE MANY GOOD NAS, MEMORY AND HARD DROVE COMPANIES OUT THERE. PICK ANYONE BUT THESE DOOES OR BEWARE OF WHAT CAN HAOOEN AND HOW YOULL BE TREATED IF IT DOES.

Complete Customer Service Failure. One Star!

I have been trying to get a failed drive replaced under warranty for over two months. I have had my case "escalated" twice, both times being told someone would get back to me within 48 hours and nobody every got back to me. I was told to email my tech rep directly if I had questions, and I have emailed both of them a number of times and never get prompt replies. In fact, I've only ever gotten a single reply, weeks later, and it was a flat denial of my warranty, stating that the drive was opened, voiding the warranty. Backstory: I reached out to WD as soon as my drive failed and THEY directed me to an "authorized data recovery company" that could open the drive and it would NOT void my warranty. I took my drive to that company and they serviced it. I then sent my broken drive, the RMA number and the documentation from the authorized company to WD, and ...nothing. Long after the tracking number said the drive was delivered (a month), the online porthole still said it was awaiting the return of the device. I finally reached out to them, and was told, "oh yes, the drive was returned, but it was tampered with, voiding the warranty". I re-directed them to the documentation that it had been serviced by an approved company, and they said they were 'escalating' the case and I'd hear back in 48 hours. Well, you guessed it. Never heard back. I emailed three times. No response. I reached out a third time through their support porthole, and was told that, "oh, yes, your claim was approved, but we don't have any drives in stock. Check back later." I asked if they could give me some timeframe for a replacement as this was my primary office hard drive. "no" I was told...who knows when we might have them back in stock.

Livraison déplorable, toujours pas reçu

Commande passée le 2 juillet.
Livraison déjà repoussée 3 fois, soit disant pour une mauvaise adresse (en plein Paris...), alors qu'elle est parfaitement correct
1/ Suite contact transporteur, l'adresse est bonne et j'ai pu compléter certaines infos
2/ WD formatent les infos de livraison n'importe comment, n'incluant pas mon téléphone pour le transport, pourtant très pratique pour un livreur
3/ Le transporteur ne fait aucun effort. Un conseil, changez-en
4/ Je n'ai toujours pas reçu le produit mais ma commande indique un statut "complétement livré" sur votre site

J'ai déjà des doutes de l'état dans lequel je vais recevoir les produit avant même de les déballer.
Si les retours sont aussi compliqués que les envois, ca promet...

C'était ma première expérience avec votre shop en ligne. Ca sera la dernière.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. WD now offers Acronis software to backup files. It doesn't work! When I tried to get help, the people I spoke to were useless. I own six WD drives. I would never buy another. The company just doesn't care about their customers.

RMA process woefully lacking

I had an issue with a WD external drive (My Passport Ultra). A reasonably painless RMA process (other than damaged files that I needed to pay a service to recover, but that's another story for a device less than a year old), and just received my replacement. They sent the wrong cable and when I inquired about getting the right one (I should have kept the original instead of sending it back), they don't have any in inventory and I have to wait, possibly weeks. What kind of company does this and does not have the correct replacement cables to ship on RMA products. Without me pushing customer service, they wanted ME to follow up with them in about a week to see if it was back in inventory. I am at a loss that a company can operate in this fashion. They were very specific as to how I needed to send the defective product back and what to include, I guess the opposite does not hold true. I am in Canada.

It's hard to imagine a worse consumer experience

It's hard to imagine a worse consumer experience than one has using western digital backup products (in my case, the so-called 'mycloud'). A mishmosh of software/apps/whatall are supposed to stand in for decent user friendly technology. Webpages that lead nowhere, firmware that doesn't match the firmware listed on their website, help pages that are hopelessly circular, utilities that are basically non-existent. A deeply painful experience that has me deciding to use online backups and forget home cloud solutions forever. Western Digital is by far the worst consumer products company I've ever used. There isn't even a word to describe how badly they suck. Avoid!

Terrible experience with support

Terrible experience with support. 'Support' offer no actual support and instead blame you for the problem with their product. They refuse to help and say there is nothing they can do. Then when asking again for help, they become aggressive and rude. They tell you to find a solution on your own via Google.

Absolutely shocking and so disappointing.

I dealt with 3 different people trying to cancel an order that wasn't even shipped and they refused. Will never do business with then again. 1st and last time. They should be closed down. Horrible customer service. Stephanie was rude and Eliza just lied the while time.

Jeg er skuffet over My Cloud Home.
Den nuværende software, fungerer meget dårligt, bl.a.problemer ved login, og efter seneste opdatering er MyCloud, ikke mere tilgængelig i finder, eller på desktop. Desuden lukket for integration i Infuse, det var tidligere ikke noget problem, nu har man mere travlt med andre partnere.
Kan ikke anbefale MyCloud med den nuværende software.
