I wish I had read these reviews beforehand. Delivery painfully slow and only after I’d chased it up after 4 weeks. No order email is sent out which really is very poor. The wrong postcode was then put on my parcel so DHL would not deliver. Shaun accepts no responsibility for this. My parcel is still ‘lost’ and I’m having to chase it with DHL as Shaun couldn’t care less.
(Update: Never received my parcel. Eventually got a refund by going through PayPal resolution.)

My sign arrived yesterday afternoon and it was top quality,lovely craftsmanship,very well packed. will definately be be telling my friends and family, well done on a quality product

Avoid this sign company. It takes much longer than the website says to receive the sign. They say on the website that all fixings are supplied when they’re not - you are given two weak looking plastic pegs and you are told to buy your own epoxy resin to glue the pegs to the back of the sign! Then they tell you to glue the pegs into the wall! They also got the order wrong as the sign sent was a neorustic finish not the rustic as ordered. When I raised this with them they did not respond. Lastly the text is not the same size as that ordered on the website. Don’t bother with this company, there are loads of others out there for not much more money.

Their customer service is shocking. I bought a sign from them online 10 days ago and have had heard absolutely nothing since. The house sign was meant to be sent within 5 working days but nothing has arrived.
I have had no confirmation email even though they have taken my money and I have been unable to contact them by email or phone since. The phone number rings once and then cuts off!
I have now raised this with PayPal but have since read that this is a common occurrence with this company.
My advice would be to avoid them completely!

Corresponded entirely by e-mail with this supplier. No problems, prompt response etc. Took 3 weeks from order to delivery which, when you consider they are hand made, in my view is very good. I am very impressed with the completed product. Excellent quality, well made, exactly as ordered. Highly recommended.

The website is great and it's easy to order, but the fulfilment process takes a disappointingly long time. (other suppliers seem a lot faster). The quality is OK but on closer inspection I noticed a few chips on the lettering. Not suficient to send them back but just enough to be cheesed off at such a poor finish. Even more annoying is the method of fixing if you choose the "hidden mount" option. The process is cumbersome and relies too heavily on epoxy resin fixings. Go for pre-drilled holes if it is appropriate.

I choose Welsh slate house signs after trying a few other websites. I found it to be a really great site and so easy to design my sign, so was really excited of it being delivered.. But thats where my excitement ended.. couple of weeks went by, no sign, gave them another week, Telephoned them nothing!!. Phone line kept going dead.. Alarm bells started ringing at this point, so I decided to email, emailed me straight back to say it was still in production. Another week passes no sign!.. emailed again it will be sent tommorow by registered post, another 4 days passed still nothing..emailed again, it's in transit.. Nearly 5 weeks later my sign arrived. Nice piece of slate nice lettering even, but the white painting was very shoddy, smudged, splodges of white paint all over the sign, the pre drilled hangings at the back are not even in alignment and the plastic lugs that have to be stuck on I really don't trust... .. I rang them to explain no answer!.. sent them an email to say I would keep the sign for half the cost.. No they would only give me 10.00 off.. if I returned it the cost of return was down to me...Their emails to me after this became quite rude, so I got in touch with PayPal, I could either have a full refund if I returned it.. or ten pounds off, in the end I have accepted 10.00 off just to end it .. I lost faith in them thought I would probably not even get all my money back they maybe say it was broken or something on return..so I'm stuck with it.. probably will just end up as a novelty garden sign!, .. wish I had read reviews to start with..

We found ordering our house sign very easy. The virtual mock ups helped us choose the right style slate and font.

Took a few weeks to arrive, but when it did it was a quality product. You can rush quality!

Like many other reviewers the signs took much longer than 5 days to arrive - a whole month (ordered 11/4, delivered 11/5). I chased twice (via email) and did receive replies so at least I didn't feel ignored. Signs when they did arrive were good quality, no lugs to attach them to the wall and holes on rear slightly out of alignment which wasn't a huge problem as we were able to adjust how the sign attached to the wall, but I can see this as being a problem if you don't have the flexibility to adjust the fixings. Generally a good product but delivery far too slow.

Fantastic service for a wonderful product - I couldn't be more pleased. It was super easy to design the Welsh slate house sign which was a present for my sister's 50th birthday. The website is really easy to use and it was simple to pay for the gift too. I needed to have the delivery fast-tracked and the service from Welsh Slate House Signs was superb. I really am delighted and will definitely be using them again.

Sorry to say I can't recommend this company. Ordered product just over 2 weeks ago - no order confirmation, no updates on delivery lead times etc. Didn't answer first couple of emails, phone line not working. Only when I requested a refund via Paypal for non-delivery did I get a response to say they are running behind with orders. A simple email apologising for the late delivery would have avoided this whole unfortunate situation.

Best quality on the market

I have ordered many slate products from various companies in the past and can honestly say I will be sticking with these guys from now on, best quality and attention to detail by far.

The quality of the product is in no doubt at all which is the main thing, the problem is delivery takes longer than expected but is worth the wait. Reading other reviews it is frustrating that landline rings once and then cuts off but the email system works perfectly well as Shaun is prompt in replying to the emails. If you want quality just have patience and you are rewarded.

I should have read the reviews before ordering- yes you have a long wait and yes I sent several emails asking where my signs were. When they turned up I was very disappointed not only were both sign chipped the finish was very poor with the white lettering being patchy and the white used to do the writing splattered in spots over the sign. I’m now stuck with what to do after complaining I’ve been asked to post them back but these signs were already expensive and now I have to pay for further postage in the hope they come back better! Very disappointed considering I was really looking forward to having 2 new signs for our house, now we have none!

We had an excellent service from start to finish & are 100% happy with our lovely sign.
Shaun was really helpful throughout the process & communicated promptly to my emails. I wanted a non standard sign & he was very accommodating throughout.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company.

We have just received our house sign. It was very well packaged. The sign is beautiful. We are delighted with it. Very good quality.

The lead time was longer than we expected when we placed the order, but I did receive an answer to my email when I chased delivery. It was shipped when Shaun said it would.

Nowadays we all expect things instantly including when we order online. This is a quality bespoke product produced to order, so it will not be shipped immediately.

We would recommend this company for quality of the product and good customer service.

We recently received our house sign and are absolutely delighted with it. The workmanship is of a very high standard, such a lovely finish. Also included are hidden fixings and instructions.
It arrived in around two weeks with tracked mail and was very well packaged.
Although no phone contact Shaun answered any emails promptly.
Well worth waiting for such a great sign.

I cannot review the product because I have not received it yet, over a month now. Like others I can confirm that the phone line does not work this should be a big red flag. Trying to get a refund from PayPal but this takes a long time also. How did I fall for this scam!

This product was dispatched the same day as this review and arrived by next day delivery.
I must say that the product is very good quality. But really you guys have a lot of work to do on your customer service.

Service and response to questions was speedy and efficient. The sign is fantastic. Not too heavy, but robust and very classy. I would highly recommend the product and the company. Our sign is going on a wooden gate, so with hindsight it would have been useful to have the holes pre-drilled. But it’s not a problem to do ourselves. Really chuffed.
